I do agree with the reply of Rob Loewen . It is true that http://ifixit.com is the best site, but my experience with the site is not that good as I didn't get the response from them properly. How to break an ipod nano?
um well i dun wanan sound like a villian or greedy or a bad person or ne thing according to those people but i think that people making a new modle RITE after u bought thier "newest" one is sorta mesed up SO.... 1. throw it 2. slam it on the road( dont get caught) 3. upload a virus to it 4. jam a toothpick into the earphone socket and push until the the earphone slot slides out of place and into the ipod even deeper 5. dont throw it in water - thats just stupidity ( are you allowed to say that on yahoo? i dont wanna get banned > :( 6. you can deliberatly set it on fire then quickly extinguish it so its circuits get messed up 7. this is a pretty good one - unscrew it then disconnect one of the green circuit boards and slightly cut the beige ( brown-ish) clouloured paper ish object connecting the green boards toghter ( that will stop its functions hope that helps and once again i AM NOT A BAD PEROSN o.O!!!!

Thanks for the A2A.If that’s the picture of your iPod Nano in the comments there is really nothing you can do, and I don’t see how it would be “helpful” towards an iPod Touch.Either buy a used iPod Nano on eBay or go ahead and get a new iPod Touch. I do not believe Apple can repair the old one. But you could always take it to an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Center to find out.

How to fix an iPod Nano that skips songs?
Try these steps 1) Perform a hard reset Hold the select and menu buttons for 10 seconds. This clears the Ipods cache and may resolve the problem 2) Restore the IPod using Itunes Plug the Ipod in to your computer and select Restore from the Ipod menu. This will re-install the firmware and will erase any corruptions from the IPods programming 3) Upgrade the firmware Hand in hand with step 2 really. I tunes should prompt you to do so when conected to ITunes 4) Replace the battery Take your Ipod to your nearest Apple store where they can try your Ipod with another battery. If the problem is occurring frequently enough that you can test it in the store then you will not be charged for the replacement 5) Replace your Ipod You may want to consider upgrading to the new Iphone or Ipod touch. Being able to connect the the internet through Wifi or even 3G connections vastly improves the usu ability of the Ipod experience Good luck

whenever I touch or press the dial it doesn't work nor does the screen turn on. when I plug into the computer the screen turns on and looks normal but whenever I press the dial it still doesn't work. there also appears an icon of a small black briefcase on the upper left corner. what do I do to fix this?

You might want to take it to an apple store and ask them to remove it, this way if it breaks during removal they will be responsible and probably give you a new one, but if you try to take it off and end up breaking it then you'll have to buy a new one. I don't know where you live but apple stores are in plenty of malls. Good luck (:

Why is my iPod Nano not charging?
Clean the contacts in the Nano - like with the fine point of a flat toothpick - CAREFULLY - check the cable - both ends - you can also use a pencil eraser/rubber on the exposed contacts to make sure they’re clean. In most instances, it’s either the cable or dirty contacts.Worth a shot.
