Is My Manager Aloud To Give Me A Leaving Date

Is it ever okay to date your manager?

Okay, so I'm not 100% sure he likes me, but he drops certain clues and I really like him. I've been single for almost three years and I have a hard time meeting men that actually interest me. Should I talk to him? Talking about it even freaks me out because of the potentially awkward work situation.

Just to put that out there, I work a retail Mcjob. I have no intention of staying with this company for longer than a few more months, so I'm not messing with my "career" or anything.

What is McDonald's Dating Policy with Shift Managers wanting to date crew trainers? Please explain!?

While I'm not sure about McD's specific policies on work place romances, but I can tell you that it's usually frowned upon. by senior management and corporate.

Work place romances can interfere with job duties, job performance, and judgement. Most policies pertaining to work place romance states very clearly, 'its not tolerated' and may end in one of the two parties being transfered to another location. Same goes with married couples who work within the same company. The two may be split of for the reason under work place romance or one of the two may be told to leave.

If you asking my own personal opinion on the matter, then i would say, "don't get involved with someone at work". Too many variables that will come in play when the relationship breaks off. Its one thing to date another fellow crew worker but its another to date a manager. Yes, McD's Shift Leaders are managers or Managers In Training. You should tell dude, you're flattered but no thank you.

How to write a letter for leaving my job?

Leave in good graces...you never know when people will turn up in your future. Do you have to give some time for them to find a replacement for you? It is usually customary to give two weeks notice. That's up to you and your starting date at the next hotel. Pretty much what the other person says but I would soften it up a lot. This letter is to inform you that I will be terminating my employment with "the hotel" on "date". I want to thank you for the opportunity to work for your hotel and hope that my leaving causes you no problems. Sincerely. . . .you don't have to use those words but make the letter leave a good taste in their mouth. You never know ...perhaps your boss will quit the hotel and move to your new one and be your boss again or you may need to get a reference at some point in the future.

How do I deal with a manager who asked me to revise my resignation letter?

Simply say no. Say that u have fulfilled terms of your offer by providing notice period mentioned in the offer letter. Show him your offer letter as it may be different and he might be confused the you are not giving the required notice.I remember when I wanted to quit my 1st company. I simply used HR Direct to provide my last working day after informal conversation with manager about the same.Once I provided the date. 1st he was confused that why I was giving 30 days notice as normal notice period in that company was 90 days. I showed him my offer letter. After that he rejected it 3 times saying that last working day falls on a weekend so you will have to change the date to Monday after the weekend. I could not do that as I had to join next company on Monday. So I started reading company policies. I found that if last working day is on weekend I can get relieved on Friday itself. I involved HR and Manager happily accepted my resignation.

How to write a leave letter to boss telling him that my wife is going have her baby any time?

Just ask your boss and explain

Surely, if he/she has any compassion they won't stop you having time off for this. If he/she dismisses you for taking the time off, which I'd do regardless of what is said, sue for discrimination.

How to write a letter requesting emergency leave from work?

Make it a formal letter stating clearly the reasons why you need the time off, to the point where you don't disclose any unnecessary information about yourself or the person you requires your pressence.

The first paragraph should state the reason for the request, in this case emergency time off. Is it because of an illness or death in the family? If so list it here.

The second paragraph should give details on the nature of the reason. Perhaps your mother has become ill. Say so and why you need extended time off. For example if your mother has been diagnosed with cancer say "My mother has recently been diagnosed with cancer and I am requesting time off to care for her. She requires my services to take her to and from the doctor and help with medication." Whatever the reason expand as required.

The third paragraph should illustrate your strengths to the company and any recent accomplishments. You should also give an expected date of return. It doesn't have to be a specific date but give your employer a general idea, like "I should return by mid-September and will check back when a more specific date is known." Lastly, if you have a job which can be done, at least in part, by telecommuting offer to continue any services you can from a distance during your absense.

Finally, remember to keep the letter short and to the point and in a formal format. When you print it out, print three copies. The first copy is for yourself, the second for your direct manager and the third for human resources. And remember to KEEP IT FORMAL. A copy will almost always land in your prefomance reccord and a poorly formatted and written letter can hold you back in the future.

One last IMPORTANT thing to mention is make sure before you start writting the letter check with either human resources or the US Department of Labor on the time limits granted to you by law for family, medical or other emergancies.

Scared about giving notice?

Mintee's right, but I've been there before- it IS scary....

Just tell them you are thankful for the opportunity that they had given you, but that you have been made a remarkable offer with another company and it is in your "best interest" that you "have accepted"and "will be leaving in two weeks."

I did that, twice- the first time, they were understanding and thanked me for all of my hard work. The second time he told me I didn't need to wait two weeks- he told me to gather my things and leave- even though there was no one who could have filled in for me until they found a replacement. I was shocked, but was told (by my new employer) that it was a common practice for someone with my position to get hurried out the door, for fear of "leaking secrets", etc. to outsiders. After I left that job I checked in with my new employer and I started that same day- I ended up better off than sticking it out for two weeks.

My point is, be prepared and it'll all work out- GOOD LUCK!

Can my employer refuse to accept my letter of resignation?

Just post it to HR…If they also dont accept, just check your No dues and then move

If I give two months' notice, can my employers turn round and say, "We are giving you one month's notice"?

Employer thinks from money perspective. Even two weeks is a legal requirement in some cases, otherwise for employer, its waste of two weeks of money in salary. So your two months notice will means two months of wasted money in salary on someone who is probably not focused on work anyways. It would be better for the employer to let you go early and save that money. My (Canadian) experience has been, that long time ago, once I gave a notice to my employer about 3 months in advance, thinking that I was being very nice. I had to relocate to another city so I though I should let my employer know well in advance. These 3 months I was not treated as nicely as I was before, neither did I get enough work. I was like a stranger for these three months at my work and I was very surprised in this change of their attitude. But I learned my lesson, to not give a long notice.Later in my professional career, at a job I resigned, but gave two weeks notice only. The only thing I did different was that I had to wait since my manager was on vacation and I didn't want to ruin his vacation by my news of resignation. They liked me and didn't want me to leave, especially my skill set in VoIP was very hard to find. So I changed my next job's starting date, and when my manager came back, only then gave him two weeks notice. He was not happy about my resignation but he appreciated that I didn't ruin his vacation by giving notice while he was away.On the other hand, when an employer has to terminate you, unless it is stated in your employment agreement, they don't give you not a second, they just throw you and your stuff out (well not literally, but almost).
