Is my navel piercing infected? (pics)?

if you're using the band aid wound wash, it has benzklonium chloride in it, which tends to irritate and stress out puncture wounds, which is what a healing piercing is. that actually may be what part of your problem is if thats what you've been cleaning with this whole time.

if what is coming out is runny, its just normal fluid secretion. pus has a thicker consistency similar to Elmer's glue.

start doing sea salt soaks a couple of times a day. mix 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt per 8 oz of water and let your piercing soak for about 10 minutes. you can buy sea salt (make sure its non iodized, iodine will make the piercing site sting) at any grocery store in the spice section.

typical signs of infection:
green, brown, red or some other unusual color of secretion (clear, white and slightly yellowed are normal with a healing piercing)
bad odor
hot feeling to the touch usually accompanied by streaked redness

it would be a really good idea for you to go have your piercing looked at by a piercer.it may just simply be irritated, but it doesn't really look too good in the pictures you put up. if its infected, definitely go to a doctor and get some antibiotics. don't take it out though, if the holes closes with an infection present, you could develop an abscess.

Does my navel piercing look bad?

It’s a good thing that you break your question into two parts: ‘look bad’ and ‘not manly’.From an aesthetic point of view the looks of a piercing is a “neutral thing”. You don’t have it =looks natural; you have it=questions arise as to its pertinence and each observer’s point of view regarding the use of such decorations on the body’s surface. It’s very subjective, and if you like it, it’s your body and you can do with it whatever you like. The asking suggests that you need reassurance as to the outcome of your decision. Personally I reject this type of attention-getting body decoration. The second part of the question is more delicate to address, since you are asking for some stranger’s opinion of what is appropriate for a man to do, and what’s not. In my youth, this type of self-expression was not very popular, since the definition of the genders was more to the point and not as diverse as it is today. Then, you either were virile or you were not. It was “black or white”, (not implying skin color or race); now things have become more accomodating to every individual’s tint of personality, and the color chart goes very subtly from black thru zillions of tones to a final white. You would have to determine where you stand in this kaleidoscopic spectrum and define how you feel with your decision. Looking for reassurance would have to be done within your social nucleus: I am an anatomist, and cannot, and will not, try determine the extent of your sexuality. Seeing the picture with the piercings and the stellar arrengement gives me the impression that you are trying to get someone’s attention to your physique. So the “manly” aspect of your question remains in the realm of the unanswered realities that you may have trouble in accepting. See yourself for what you are, and don’t worry about anyone else’s opinion.I sincerely hope that this window that you have opened will allow you to see the light that’s out there and will help you in the course of determining your outcome.

Is my navel piercing rejecting [pics]?

I've had it for about 7 months, and it seems like there is less skin in between the balls of my ring now. I know it was probably swollen for a while so that would make a difference between then and now, but it seems as though there still might be a little less than before. It's also been at the point it is now for a while, at least 2-3 months I'd say. When I got it done the piercer said to be careful because my skin was thin there. There's no pain or discomfort or anything else though. Do you think it's alright or is it rejecting/migrating? Even if it's not rejecting, is there enough skin there to hold it?

Is my navel piercing infected (pics....hopefully)?

Is there heat coming from it? If not then your fine, if there is then it is. Just continue your aftercare. If you continue to be concerned you can try dial soap and water, and triple antibiotic ointment on the barbell. crusty is normal, the redness is normal. Naval rings are one of the longest healing piercings, and can take up to a year to be fully healed, they can go through stages where they seem to be fine for a few weeks, then they act up again. The aftercare I told you is old school, as I was never told to use seasalts on my naval ring but that was back in 1998, my aftercare method obviously worked eitherway though, cuz its still here in 2010.

Which type of navel is ideal for piercing?

Without doubt its the T-shape Navel that too a deep one since its skin structure (horizontal flap over a vertical lining) can give a great support to the piercing for getting a hold/grasp on the navel even when the belly pulls in and out and during change of body position (sitting/standing)!).(Kindly scroll down and then read these answers to get a clearer picture:-)T(Nandini Prakash Menon's answer to What is the shape of your navel?Rohit Kapoor's answer to Why is a T-shaped navel sexier than a wide navel? Is it okay to go swimming with a new belly button piercing?

I suppose you could, if you want to risk infection. Any new piercing must be fully healed before swimming in any body of water, chlorinated or not, and this includes hot tubs. Even in chlorinated water, there are plenty of bacteria floating around in the water which will eventually make it into your piercing. Trust me, you don't want to risk it. As always, consult your professional piercer and follow all their instructions and advice as they know best. Hoping your piercing heals quickly so you can get back in the water!

Is it okay to reveal my navel in a lehenga?

It is completely optional how you can adorn yourself. I believe images are more expressive than words.
