Is Orlando Really That Dangerous

Is florida really dangerous?

I live in Florida. I have a lake behind my house and I have seen about 10 gators in 16 years. But never in my backyard itself. Also, the only people that get killed by gators are ones stupid enough to swim in murky fresh water. I also have never seen a wild snake. (with the exception of a few garter snakes which are harmless) Actually the only "pest" that I see a lot of are Iguanas. And in my 16 years of living 2 blocks from the beach and swimming/surfing almost every day I have seen about a dozen sharks (most of which were far away and/or I saw them from a pier/dock) but I have never known anyone who was attacked. Florida is a great place.

Is Orlando, FL dangerous?

You probably picked that hotel because it was cheap? well there is a reason for it being that price, it is just mins away from the jail. Look into International Dr area if you are doing SeaWorld or Universal It isent that far to Disney either but this will put you in the center of the tourist area.

How dangerous is PARRAMORE in Orlando?

ya I always see a few white people waking around in that area and I'm saying to myself what are these guys thinking? I mean I've ridden the bus thru there but i aint walkin the streets so im just wondering how these guys do it

I'm really scared to move to Orlando florida?

Ok, no need to worry. These natural disasters, while they can be devastating, are usually not devastating. Hurricanes are quite rare, there are many major cities in the state that have not been directly hit by a hurricane in like 80 years, and over here, will also weaken since we are inland. Some hurricanes/tropical storms were not even worth closing the windows. Tornadoes can happen almost anywhere in the US, If you don't want to see a gator, don't swim in a lake. Gators are not something you see everyday, same as snakes. Keep in mind with snakes, red touches black, your alright jack. Red touches yellow, your a dead fellow. That's how you can tell if a snake is poisonous or not for the most part. The city beautiful is a great place. Every place has its pros and cons. I would be more afraid of snow in NH. I do not know what is like in those conditions, and from what I see on tv, I don't think I can operate in such conditions. Yikes!

Are you in any REAL danger at halloween horror nights?(orlando)?

My husband and I have gone the past 3 years that we've been together.. I'm easily scared but I always have a good time when we've gone in he past. Expect the park to be completely decorated and have people who work there walking around in costumes jumping out and trying to scare people.. Walking around is the fun part cause you arent expecting people to jump out and if you are then your on edge cause of not knowing where they will be jumping out from. I strongly suggest not to bring children to the park unless they are over the age of 11 on account of the costumes looking kinda realistic. If standing in lines for haunted houses doesnt bother you then you'll definately have a good time..

What are dangerous neighborhoods to stay away from in Orlando?

Your question is what are dangerous neighborhoods to stay away from in Orlando. I prefer to dwell in the positive and let's talk about some most amazing neighborhood in the Orlando metro area.Orlando metro area is comprised of several counties: Seminole, Orange and loosely Lake and Osceola. Let us start with Seminole County. Seminole County is amazing living for families, has many parks for kids, and a great sense of community. If I were to look for a home in Seminole County I would look for Heathrow, Altamonte Springs, Lake Mary, Oviedo, Winter Springs.Orange county has some amazing neighborhoods, too. Winter Park, 50 and Mills, Lake Nona and Dr. Phillips. Hunters Creek, Winter Garden, Windemere are pretty peachy too. Most houses that are 350 and up are probably good neighborhoods. This may or may not sound high depending on the part of the country you are coming from. I would work with a reputable real estate agent if you are looking in the $100-$300,000 range. There are still amazing finds and neighborhoods in this range but you need someone who knows the right side of the street.Neighborhoods can vary by major cross roads. Additionally if your real estate agent has been in Florida for a while they will know if there are any neighborhoods that are in 15 year flood planes. I remember driving from Pinehills to Apopka many years ago and seeing an area flooded one year. The next spring there were new build houses there. I encourage you to rent your first year. Unless you're really know where you're going you could make a poor choice. The beautiful thing about Central Florida is that we never have dirty snow, it's always fairly warm and tropical.

Is Orlando as dangerous as the statistics say?

Orlando is absolutely not as dangerous as statistics say. Not even close. A vast majority of neighborhoods with Orlando zip codes are perfectly safe to be in day or night. However Orlando is no different than any other major city, and there are still some areas you should avoid. Parramore is probably the worst and always has been, though the city is trying to improve thingsSouth Orange Blossom Trail (known by locals as OBT) should also be avoided from Colonial Drive all the way down to Sand Lake Road, about an 8.5 mile stretch. Once you go south of Sand Lake it greatly improvesPine Hills is another notorious hot bed of crime. The boundaries of Pine Hills are the 408 expressway to the south, Mercy Drive to the east, Apopka-Vineland to the west, and Clarcona-Ocoee on the north. The northern and western parts have much nicer homes however. Most of the “bad” stuff is primarily concentrated on Silver Star Road. However even with this knowledge, most crime victims in Orlando are often not random, and is usually a drug or gang related beef of some kind. As long as you’re not in that crowd and keep your wits about you, you should do just fine even in the “bad” neighborhoods.

Is it true that the neighborhood surrounding the Citrus Bowl in Orlando is a ghetto ?

It is REALLY ghetto. I would NEVER live there. Orlando is a really weird town, where it goes from Ghetto to really nice very within a block.

What are the dangers of taking a bus from Orlando, FL to Destin, FL?

You will be on a bus in Florida. Odds are, you will find yourself in close proximity to senior citizens. This is very dangerous. They will corner you. They will show you endless pictures of their grandchildren. They have smart phones that are filled with them, but they are only so nimble with them, and the torture will be magnified by their inability to find “the one with Charlie and Killie sitting with Santa from two Christmases ago.” Somehow this will segue into deep and detailed description of some disgusting health malady. There will be strange smells. There will be grumpy old men who bitch about today and speak of the excellence of “my day.” You will so wish you sat next to the slightly pudgy guy in a fishnet halter top and and gold thong shorts. Sure, the pomeranian in his lap has a weird looking eye and perpetually growls, but at least they both eventually took a nap. Good luck and God's speed.
