Is Running A 6 00-7 00 Mile Pace Marathon Good

How long does it take you to run a mile?

if you are a good runner and also having a lot practice of fast running rather than just jogging , it will take you harder of 8 to 10 mins but if you are only a jogger it would take about 15-20 mins or more ,depends on your age, heath, weight, practice . running time can also vary according to the way you move your muscles (i.e hands , thigh , feet and shoulders) ,less movement of legs (short steps), hands and shoulder can let you run more continuously for a long run in less time but for a short run like a km. or more you can move them as much you can for covering more distance in less time , it actually helps you to increase your speed but will tier you much faster.

How do I go from running a 9 minute mile to a 6 minute mile?

Are you only able to currently run one mile in 9 minutes? If so, it’s going to take a while until you are able to do a 6 minute mile. When you start training it should be easy to cut 30 seconds, a minute, a minute and a half off your time, but then it’s going to get increasingly more and more difficult to go faster. The secret to running faster is training. There’s no magic to it, you just have to put in the work.I’d start by run-walking 2 miles and working your way up to 5 miles a few times a week. You don’t need to run yourself into the ground on any particular day, just focus on 3–4 solid runs a weeks and keep repeating every week. There are loads of mile-specific workouts out there but you’re at the point you just need to build up a base. Come back when you’re trying to cut the final 45 seconds off your mile time, in the mean time just work on steady weekly mileage.

Is running a 6 minute mile good?

If you are a runner: no.If you are a non-runner trying something different, it’s OK.If you are a 12-year-old girl it’s good and you should join a club.

I'm 13 years old and run a mile in 6:10, I want to get a 5 minute mile in about 6 months from now, how can I improve my mile time to 5 mins?

I was able to crack 6 minutes at my peak and get down to about 5:30 in my first mile, and that was in my 30s.It's a good idea to do some weightlifting to build up strength, squats, dead lifts, etc. Speed comes from strength. The real keys are two things:  Train fastTrain farther than you're runningFor step one: You need to practice running faster.  To run faster, you need to fix your form and get stronger, as suggested above. I suggest this video for everyone, but if your coach suggests something different, listen to them: (I'd wear shoes, of course)Work on one piece at a time until you have it overhauled. Now run faster. You run it in 6:10, try to run 2 miles in 12:20.  If you can do that, aim to do it faster next time. By running farther you're telling your body that you can do this and you have nothing to fear.  A mile is nothing compared to 2 miles.Set aside one day for sprints and hills.  Sprint workout:10x 50m10x 100m10x 200mYou should be cooked by then.  Run. As. Fast. As. You. Can during those sprints.  Don't save anything, but you should be working the HARDEST during the last 5 minutes of practice.  Push yourself harder and harder. The first time you do it there's a chance you'll throw up. Embrace it.Find a steep hill. Run up it, walk down it, repeat. If you have a stadium near you, do those, run up, run over, run down, run over, repeat. You'll probably run into the wall that my swim coach called: the pain threshold.  You've heard the expression. no pain, no gain?  That's what this is.  You'll be running. Your body will say: I'm done, I can't do this, I want to puke.  You need to tell your body: Shut up. I'm doing this. * Every time you push through the threshold, you get stronger.I was your age when he told me about this, unfortunately, it took me about 15 years to really understand what it meant. To get there you need to go there.  It's not easy. It's not a walk in the park. It's a run. It will hurt. *If you have sharp pains while exercising, stop and recover, it could be a pulled muscle. Sharp pains should not happen and are not something you should push though.  Fatigue is a kind of pain that you can push through...though be sure to hydrate sufficiently and stay away from too much sun and heat.

How fast should a 15 year old girl run a mile?

this is pretty general.
so if ur a runner...(like in track) id say around 7:00-7:30ish

if u aren't competing then like 8-9 mins

How fast should a teenager be able to run a mile?

There really is no actual answer to how fast a teenager should be able to run a mile. Everyone has a different level of physical fitness, some people are built in such a way that running is easier for them than for others, some teenagers may have things like asthma that make it hard for them to run at times, or simply train for a sport that doesn't provide the necessary balance of of speed and endurance that the mile requires.

However, if you're looking for a sort of average, I can try and give you that.

A 13 year old boy in good running shape can probably manage 6 - 8 minutes.
A 14 year old boy in good running shape can probably manage 5:30 - 8 minutes.
A 15 year old boy in good running shape can probably manage 5:30 - 7 minutes.
A 16 year old boy in good running shape can probably manage 5 - 7 minutes.

At that 5 minute point though, runners are very unlikely to be getting any faster without significant training for mile. However, I personally know XC and Track runners who are sophomores and juniors who are running as low as 4:30s, and I know 13 year olds who run in the lower 5s, so it's really dependent on whether or not you've trained for it.

For girls, it's probably something like this.

13 year old in good running shape can probably manage 6:30 - 9 minutes
14 year old in good running shape can probably manage 6:15 - 9 minutes
15 year old in good running shape can probably manage 5:45 - 8 minutes
16 year old in good running shape can probably manage 5:20 - 8 minutes

But once again, it's still dependent heavily on training. I know a 13 year old girl who runs in the 5:30 range, and I know others who are remarkably physically fit but can't run a decent mile at all.
