Is The Democratic Election Of A Muslim Party

Why do Muslims tend to vote Democratic?

Not all, but most that I have seen have voted for Obama.

I have always been a huge Republican and conservative. I never liked the idea of getting free handouts and not working. I always believed that you had to work for money, without any of the socialist crap involved.

But anyway, Republicans follow conservative ideas. Don't Muslims believe in conservatism? Such as no gay marriages, abortion, pro-life, etc.?

But now most of them say Democrat and Obama.

Is this because Republicans tend to be more racist against Muslims while Democrats are more open minded and accepting of minorities? Or what is the reason?

Do Shia Muslims forbid voting and elections?

Of course NOT,Shia teachings are not in contradiction with Democracy and voting.Ali b. Abitulib, immediate successor of Prophet Muhammad, has so many orders and commands in this regard.Iran, as a Shia country is a good exemplar for Democracy.

How much does congress party believe in democracy?

Not at all. They only believe in Power. Power of being the ruler and the power of money.Democracy is equality of people which is definitely not visible, neither economically nor socially. Congress uses Muslim card everytime before elections and forgets them after that. Congress uses Dalit Card whenever possible and forgets them when they need help.Congress is a democratic monarchy held by one family because they borrowed a name ‘Gandhi’.They use people’s sentiments and corruption as a tool to win the elections and to stay in power. They claim a right to run India being a Gandhi. They claim a right over celebration of Independence because they think Mahatma Gandhi sacrificed his life for India.Congress has become a Business House. They believe in their development with country’s growth but keep people refrain from all the benefits. Because if people become pros[erous on what basis they would ask for votes. They always support a particular religion just because they are considered minority. Really, are there no other religions who are in minority. There are 15% Muslims, 2.3 % Christians, 1.7% Sikhs, 0.7% Budhhism, 0.4% Jainism. Why only Muslims are always supported by Congress ?Because other religions are having a harmonious relationship with Hindus but not Muslims thanks to Congress and their numbers are not significant enough in elections.Had there been 15–20% Sikhs and Muslims be 2% Congress would have created rift between Sikhs and Hindus because then Muslims numbers won’t help them in elections. Is this the Democracy Congress follows ?Rather than developing a nation they talk about development of Dalits and Muslims.Democracy means all the citizens are equal and must be treated equally. But sadly, Congress has never followed this and believed in dividing people for its own benefit.

Do Muslim-Americans vote Democrat or Republican?

They were a solid Repub demographic in the 2000 election. Then of course Republicans showed their true racist colors over the past 10 years, and they've been voting 90%+ Democratic. Just like the rest of the minorities.

Can dictatorship make democracy?

It is a very intersting concern.

More and more people from democratic countries are seing that democracy cannot currently work in muslim countries. The issue with Islam is that it is more than a religion, it is an ideological way of life and it fondamentally cannot strive in a world of free thinking indepedantly thinking individuals.

In the early 90s, Algeria was at the point of electing a radicaly religious governement. They lived the worsed terrorist atrocities of all countries in the world... The people discovered who and what were these guys they almost elected...

In Morocco, there is still a king...

In Egypt, the slightest opening of democratic initiative lead to an averwhelming election of Muslim Brotherhood candidate... Should they get to power, we can just imagine Iran as a joke.

In Palestine the "people elected" the Hamas...

Iran ???

When Pakistan split form India.... How many Coup ? and why ? and is Turkey really a fonctional democratic space or are we not seing signs of major regression and religious involvment in this Islamic flavored secularism ?

South and Latin America was all under dictatorship rule. Latin America will not tolerate any form of dictatorship even when faced with critical issues. Yet, the motivations and the ideological background are way different from Islamic countries. The reason democracy will prevail in the long run in South America is simply because the constitutions are based on the respect of individual freedom rather than religious precepts.

If the question would be:

: Can a democracy bring a better quality of individual rights, more freedom, prosperity and security ? The answer is not a clear yes...

So dictatorship is essential if, there is a vision of the Ideal of Human Rights such as define by the United Nations. If, education, wellfare, healthcare and jobs and justice are in place...then it will naturally lead to democracy such as we are seing in Latin America, Singapoure, Thailand, Taiwan India Shri Lanka...

Relationship between the collapse of the 2nd party system of whigs and democrats and republican v?

The Whig party could not agree on the issue of slavery. This hurt them and caused them to endorse the Constitutional Union during the election of 1860 which was attempting to keep the union together. But by not taking a side on slavery, this third-party had little to no chance at winning the election. The democrats, much like the whigs, could not agree on the issue of slavery either. Because of Stephen Douglas' (Democrat) Freeport Doctrine which supported popular sovereignty (which stated that the territory should be allowed to vote for whether they wanted to slavery or not) and the Dred Scott Decision (a supreme court ruling which claimed that slaves are property and cannot be taken away no matter where you go), the Democratic party split into North and South. The Northern Democrats supported popular sovereignty and the Southern Democrats supported the Dred Scott Decision.
Because of the weakness of the Whigs (which harbored them barely any votes) and the split in the Democratic party (which split the votes between them and so each had less votes than if they'd been together and even caused some to vote republican rather than democrat), the Republican party was able to receive most votes (all from the North) which caused them to win the election.
