Is The Dota 2 Is A Big Space In My Laptop

Which laptop has better specs: 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD vs 4GB RAM and 500GB HDD?

Alot of it depends. Personally, I like to keep alot of tabs open and multi-task so the 8 gb of RAM is almost a must. I've also been spoiled by SSD's for a while so there's that. For a college student, I'm assuming the majority of your time on that computer is going to be spent typing papers, making spreadsheets, and taking notes. If this is the case, the 128gb ssd should be all you need. You need to take a look at what you'll be doing specifically. If you're going to be dealing with a lot of large files that cannot be stored in an external drive, then the 500 gb hdd will probably be better for you; however, the speed of the SSD is hard to discount.Me personally, I'd take the 8 gb with the ssd and invest in a rugged external hard drive if I was doing something like video/photo editing. The new macbook pros should have thunderbolt also so you might want to look at an external drive that supports that.I'm not very versed in this area but I do know that Lacie makes a very rugged external hard drive with thunderbolt.http://www.laciestorage.com/Rugg...

How do I configure Dota 2 to run on an old, low spec PC?

There are various ways you can increase performance in Dota 2, lets start with the easy ones. For more advanced users you may want to skip to the bottom.                                 If you are using Windows 7 start with disabling Aero:Right-click on the desktop and select Personalize. Choose the theme Windows 7 BasicIf you havn't already, lower the resolution and disable VSYNC under video settings.Note: Lowering the resolution can hinder game play and might be better to read on and play with some other settings.Next up hit advanced and play with the Advanced settings.Set everything to Low/Off and lower the render quality.Usually that would be enough to get people out of hot water however there are some commands we can use to further optimize our beloved Dota 2.Right Click on Dota 2 in steam and select Properties then Set Launch Options. In the box given I have typed the following to disable mouse acceleration and set Dota 2 to high priority: -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd -useforcedmparms -high -consoleYou are also able to force a different version of directx other than 11 by adding in:-nod3d9ex (DirectX 9)-dxlevel 80 (DirectX 8.0) -dxlevel 81 (DirectX 8.1)Moving right along we will next navigate to where you installed Steam (Mine is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam) and then to the cfg folder SteamAppscommondota 2 betadotacfgMake a copy of the config file and rename it autoexecOpen your newly created autoexec.cfg file with notepad and delete the contents.Replace it with :dota_cheap_water "1"dota_embers "0"cl_globallight_shadow_mode "0"r_deferred_height_fog "0"r_deferred_simple_light "1"r_screenspace_aa "0"There are also some network commands you can change the values of however it is not fool proof and may actually make it worse:rate "40000"   Total bandwidthcl_updaterate "20"   Updates received per second.   20cl_cmdrate " 20"   Updates sent per second.   20    cl_interp "0"   cl_interp_ratio "1"   cl_smoothtime "0.01"   And that is it! Hopefully your 'friends' PC will limp along enough for their next upgrade. For further reading:http://dev.dota2.com/showthread....http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Dota_2

Can a MacBook Air handle Dota 2?

It runs fine as long as you turn all settings to their lowest possible value. It will get hot so you might want to look into purchasing a cooling pad if you'll be doing this long term.As a side note, the game does run a bit smoother in boot camped Windows 7/8.

If I play around 4 matches of Dota 2 per day, then how much MB/GB of Internet do I use in a month?

There is a setting to change network quality in dota clientSettings -> options -> advanced -> Network quality. It can be set to either of these values :I have a low end networkI have a high end networkChanging this setting will change the amount of data you need per game. Selecting low end network will reduce the amount of data sent or received per second by half. From my experience a ~30–40 min match consumes about 90–100 mb with network quality set to high end network and about 50–60 mb with network quality set to low-end network.Doing the math considering the upper limits, you need 12 gb of data for a month with high network quality and about 7.2 gb of data per month with low end network setting selected.Although you should remember that every game is not of same length. There are a lot of factors which can affect your avg. game length, like your MMR (usually lower MMR players have slightly more avg game length), patch (some patch enables deathball strats, reducing avg. game length and some patch buffs high ground defending, increasing avg game length)There is very small input lag when playing with low-end network setting which may or may not affect your game play depending on your play style.

What is the actual file size for DoTA 2 to download from steam?

8.4 GB

Top Steam exclusives?

I have always been a console gamer, at least primarily. I have done some PC gaming over the years. In signing up for Steam I was quite amazed by the deals and wide selection. Any good exclusives you'd recommend for a versatile gamer who loves RPGs, FPSs, Adventures, Indie games, and much, much more?

Thanks ahead.

Intel® HD Graphics 3000 - What can I play?

I just bought a Macbook Pro and I was wondering what kind of games I could play with this. In all honesty, I really just want to play games like the old Final Fantasy I and II but they don't have it on the Macbook App Store.

So if somebody could give me some suggestions as to what I could play, that'd be great. How about KOTOR? It's the only thing on the store that I have found that I want. Or is that too much?
