Is The Website Luxe Models A Spam

Does the sony handycam DCR-SX45 have a night vision mode?

Hi Michael:

As "DSV" already mentioned the Sony SX-45 (and its sister-models SX-65 & SX-85) Handycam doesn't have an InfraRed night vision mode (Sony calls it "NightShot", and puts it on the side of the Handycams that have it).

But to cover the part of your Question that he didn't, the Carl Zeiss lens front has 37mm diameter filter threads on it, so it will accept lens adapters, and there are night vision lenses available, but they are expensive.

One reason for the expense, is that they use "image intensifier" (photomultiplier) technology instead of InfraRed sensors. As a comparison, a really good low-light camcorder has a sensitivity of 1.0 lux; a night scope can see in 0.0001 lux or lower.

Electrophysics/Sofradir-EC and N-Vision both make nightvision accessory lenses & lens adapters (relay lens). The AstroScope 9350 series will work in starlight conditions, but it costs over $6000 USD. None of the infrared or night-scopes are cheap. You'd do better to buy an older Sony Handycam NightShot model for a few hundred.

If you still want to shop around for adapter lenses, I'd recommend either B+H Photo (NYC & website) or Adorama (NYC & website). B+H & Adorama also have good used-lens (and other camera gear) departments, and you might save some money going that route.

hope this helps,

What is the difference between the volvo c30 t5 and the volvo c30 r-design?

The R-Design is the sporty looks for all Volvo models, like M series for BMW, AMG for Merecedes and the S / RS series for Audi.
The T5 has the same engine than the R-Design, only looks and minor chassis tweaks make the R-Design looks and drives more dynamically than the standard model.

We have a vintage turquoise blue Home Mark deluxe precision sewing machine.?

"Home Mark" was not really a sewing machine company, but a label that was used on machines that were made in Japanese factories in the 50's and 60's that were copies of Singer machines. Underneath your machine, cast into the base, should be a model number starting with JA, JC, ect. and a two digit number. This number can be common to models sold under several names, in fact, they were sometimes shipped with 3 or 4 "badges" that could be attached at the point of sale. You can join the Yahoo group "vintagejapansewingmachines" and research for more information.

Value probably isn't much. Realize that millions were made as in those days every household had one. It depends on if you have a manual and attachments, condition of machine and cabinet or case, not to mention how many others are advertised and who is looking for one and what they are willing to pay. In my area, old machines sell for $10-50, unless they are specific models that are desirable, like the Singer 221 or 301. Most are still very good basic machines that will keep sewing fine if they are kept clean and oiled.

Is a Mercedes Benz a girl car?

Mercedes are all great cars, but it's true that certain models - mainly the non-AMG models - do have a not-always-deserved reputation as girly/trophy wife cars. These include the c-class, slk, and clk models.

As for the other lines, these aren't necessarily my opinions, but common stereotypes: The SUVs are soccer mom mobiles. The e and cls class are generally middle-aged man cars, and the modern s-class are driven by wealthy immigrants. Older e and s-class are often driven for decades by older money types, or bought used by less affluent buyers who still appreciate solid engineering.

All three marques have their strengths, it just depends on what you're looking for. BMW is for a slightly younger crowd, and more track/twisty focused. Regular Mercedes are luxury-oriented, and AMGs are built for brutal, straight-line performance. Audi is an alternative for those in the BMW/Mercedes market who want something a little different, slightly cheaper, or just love the quattro 4wd.

What does LS, LT, and LTZ stand for and mean?

The letters themselves usually don't mean anything.

Those that do mean something are usually in Italian or French.

Examples: GT=Gran Turismo and denotes a more powerful version
GTI=Gran Turismo Internazionale, a variation on GT
GL=Grand Luxe, a luxury model.

In actual practice, each manufacturer has its own letter designations. Those you list are used by General Motors and mean the following:
LS: a lightly gussied-up base model with things like a/c, bucket seats, and different wheels.
LT: Similar to an LS, but with a bit more of everything (ex. nicer sound system).
LTZ: A lot more standard equipment and a bigger motor not available in the other models.

Obviously an LS costs more than the base model, an LT cost more than an LS, and an LTZ costs the most. None of this has any impact on the cars durability. As for which is better, that's up to you to decide. How much standard equipment do you want ? do you need a bigger motor ? every manufacturer has a web page on which you can select and build your own car with your own options and calculate the resulting payments. They also let you compare one model with another model. It sounds like you really should try this.

Can I publish a research paper without having a formal graduation degree and without being enrolled in a university?

For you, the person asking the question, the answer is a straightforward "no". No, it can't be done. How do I know? Because you haven't read any journals. How do I know that? Because if you read any journals, you'd already know that the instructions for submissions are printed right in the journal itself. And why does it matter? Because if you haven't read the journal, you don't know either if your paper is right for that journal, or if they're already aware of whatever it is your paper is about. The bias towards people with degrees and affiliations isn't some kind self-selecting club. It's because science is a collaborative process, and collaboration goes both ways. If you're not listening to what the other people are saying, then you're not contributing anything new to them. It's like you're jumping up and down at the bottom of a mountain, while everybody else is already standing at the top. It doesn't really matter how high you jump; you're not reaching any new heights. The people with the degrees get them by demonstrating that they're climbing that mountain. All of the other answers are correct: yes, it is possible for a person without those credentials to publish a paper. That's because you don't need credentials to read and learn. But if you're not reading and learning, you're not going to be able to publish, because there's an effectively zero percent chance that the publication is going to be of interest to those who are reading. The way to turn "no" to "yes" is to start reading journal articles. There, you'll find the instructions to publish. But you'll also realize just why it takes everybody else so much time and effort before they do.

How much is internet service in Accra Ghana?

Most people in Ghana use internet cafes as it's still expensive by local standards to get access at home. You can get an hour of internet access at a really nice, modern internet cafe for less than GHc 1 (about US 0.50), a cheap place can cost only GHc 0.15/hour (US$0.08), average is about GHc .50-60/hour (US$0.27-.32)

If you have never had a Skype video chat with this woman you are not talking to a woman. Most of the "women" you find online who flirt with you, tell you they love you right away, tell you their full name and life story within the first week, etc are actually men who set up profiles using pictures of pretty West African models and pop stars who are not known outside West Africa. If she will not have a video chat with you, you know you are talking to a scammer - because pretty much every internet cafe in Ghana has webcams and Skype

And the fact you were asked for money means you are talking to a scammer. If someone were really poor, they would not be using internet cafes anyway - they would be more worried about working and feeding themselves. Truly poor people don't go online and nobody but a scammer would ever ask a stranger for money

It always starts with small request like $10-20 for internet access - that's so they can find out if you are falling for the scam or not. 99% of people cut off contact once a request for money comes, but that 1% who does send the money is then targeted to send a lot more for medical emergencies, plane tickets, and other imaginary expenses

If you meet Ghanaians in person, you'd find 99% of people are nice, friendly, honest and a lot of fun. Unfortunately it's the 1% who are dishonest who seem to be most active on dating and social networking sites trying to get money from gullible foreigners. And if you ask many Ghanaians, they will tell you these scams are run by gangs of Nigerian criminals active in Ghana - even though there are local criminal gangs as well which many people don't like to acknowledge
