How does getting a parking ticket affect your driving record and your insurance premiums?
Most of the times, it is only Driving Violations like speeding, tailgating, wreck less operation, DUI or DWI and rash of accidents that are your fault that really effect your insurance. Exceptions might be due how hard it is or it is not to get a parking space and the amount and or frequency of your tickets. Usually, even with those that are newly insured, they have no rise policy for those that experience an accident now and then. If your parking tickets are now and then and you have a generally good relationship with your agent, parking tickets would not be detrimental.

I have lived in Springfield, Missouri for 31 years, and my advice to you is - reconsider. It is not a good place to rear a family; the children are very ill-behaved, and if you attempt to discipline your child you can be arrested, and have your children put in Protective Services, where they might be in even worse danger. And once the child is released back in your custody, you are a hostage. If you refuse to kowtow to the child, all they have to do is call the police and say you "abused" them, and they take the child's word over yours, If you consider running to "nightclubs" with nothing but hard rock and drinking yourself into insensibility - fine. otherwise, no real culture here. One supposed "art' museum - and that's it. Jobs pay next to nothing - if you can get one. The range is mostly minimum wage to about $8.50. Even with a master's sometimes all you can manage is tops $25,000 per year, unless you're in the news media (and beholden to the "power structure") - then, maybe $100,000 per year - but jobs like that are few and far between. If you want to pay $40 per show to see "rubber chicken humor,' by all means, go to Branson. Also, "417" (the area code) is slang for "methamphetamines," which are manufactured here, and are readily available. That being said: if you still want to come to Springfield, Missouri, welcome aboard, and good luck; you'll sure as Hell need it!
Meteorlogy careers & Meteorologist?
theres several different routes you can take. if you're smart and you like studying and writing papers, you can go to grad school and do research on all different types of stuff: global warming, hurricanes, severe storms, weather models, everyday forecasting techniques. If you like forecasting, you can become a forecaster and either go into the private sector (work for companies like accuweather, weather channel or lots of other small companies) or work for the government (nat'l weather service or air force/navy). Its up to you, private sector doesnt pay very well, but its easier to get into and you can forecast right away. the weather service is presitgous and pay very well, but its tough to get in, requires you to be willing to work pretty much anywhere in the country, and you'll have to work your way up to a forecaster position. Then, there's always TV (although you said you don't want to do that). Also, you can work for a Environmental company doing something like consultation or studying air pollution or groundwater contamination but it won't be forecasting and it could be rather boring. From my experience, you'll find out what you like when you're in college. This is when many of my friends realized that they either (a) wanted to go to grad school because they really enjoyed a particular area of meteorology and wante dto study it further or (b) really loved forecasting and we're willing to move someplace new and exciting to take a job for a TV station, private company or weather service job. Being a meteorologist is definitely fun. You learn something new everyday; the weather is never truly "the same" and you see cool stuff; either on radar, in person or from reports. Its challenging and confusing at times, but when you help people out, you get a great deal of satisfaction from that. Most meteorologist are laid back people who enjoy all different type of weather and are easy to work with. Almost every meteorologist I've met has wanted to be one since they were very young and few have regretted their choice to become one! Hope this helps and good luck with your studies! Craigslist has been mentioned. Put your own ads and check for people who are looking for your services often.Ask for referrals. Almost half of our landscaping clients are word of mouth referrals.Put up bandit signs (check local ordinances to know where it's ok). Don't go light. Put up 50. Make them easy to read with a clear message.Take out cheap advertisements in the classifieds. There is a certain group of people that responds much better to thrifty nickel ads than Facebook ads.Run cheap, highly targeted ads on Facebook and google.Carry business cards and ask for peoples business. This is far more effective than you realize.Keep the emails of old clients and send a monthly email with a discount on a service you are featuring.Create a website that highly targets your area with a contact form.Contact contractors and let them know you are a subcontractor who would love to get some work from them.Print up fliers and take them door to door.Call property management agencies and ask to do bids.Call apartment complexes and offer your services.Etc. etc. etc. I hope these are enough to start you out.
