Is There A Point To Long Term Plans When One Can Be Dead At Anytime

Everytime i try and get close to GOD, something bad happens in my life....why?

Honestly, only God knows why these things are happening. I don't think that the devil caused your brother to die in a car accident nor your husband to lose his job. Perhaps you are looking at it backwards. Perhaps God knew that these things were going to happen and knew that you would need His help to get through the rocky times. So perhaps He prompted you to get closer to Him so that you would have the only tool that can really help us get through the difficult moments of our lives--God's guidance and mercy. Imagine how much more difficult it would have been for you to deal with the death of your brother if you didn't have God beside you. I would encourage you to spend your entire life seeking a closer relationship with God. It is clear that you believe in Him. Don't be discouraged. If you trust in His Mercy and accept His Will, you have nothing to fear. Life may be difficult, but with God on your side, you will have the strength to cope. May God bless you and may He continue to guide your steps.

Why can't we bring the dead back to life?

We have pretty much defined death as the irreversible end of life. ie the inability to bring the dead back to life is an integral part of the definition of death. If we someday developed a technology that could reliably bring someone in a state that today would be considered dead back to life, this will likely trigger a change in the definition of death such that people in this state will no longer be considered dead (possibly redefined as a new category of deep coma, or some other medically impaired state), and the new definition of death will be reserved for those people in a state that even this new revival technology cannot help. This has already happened several times. Prior generations defined the point of death as the cessation of heart beat or breathing, but modern medicine can now, if applied quickly enough, revive people in these situations at least some of the time. As a result we eventually changed our definition of death, the current one being brain death (more specifically irreversible loss of brainstem function), which is something we do not have the capability of restoring once it happens.Given the laws of entropy and the arrow of time, it will always be easier to destroy a complex system like a lifeform than it is to repair/rebuild it, meaning that no matter what your level of capability is, there will always be a level of destruction that can be inflicted which you will not be able to repair. Maybe one day we will figure out a way of restoring brainstem function after it is lost, meaning that people who are brain-dead today could potentially be revived, what what if the whole brainstem was blown away by a bullet? Or the body pulped in a car crash? Or vaporized in an explosion? Converted to pure energy after contact with an equivalent mass of antimatter? As such there will always be some level of “dead” from which we won’t be able to bring someone back from.

How long does it take to get over a parent's death?

I am 22 and my mom died 4 months ago, and my dad died about 2 years ago. I can't think very long about my mom because once I do I just break down. When my dad died it wasn't as bad, but I was closer to my mom. It feels like yesterday when she died.

If Hitler had been assassinated, would the Germans have won the war, you think?

One needs to keep in mind the objectives of the plotters (of all the 15 attempts). It was not that Hitler was running the war badly-it was that he started a war that any sane strategist could see, would only result in Germany's defeat.
The plan of every plot was to kill/try Hitler, and immediately open negotiations with the Allies. Such a move would've thrown the "unconditional surrender" statement-which wasn't strategy it was an offhand reply to a reporter's question btw-into chaos.
Certainly an assassination, would've started the dismantling of the Nazi regime-a stated Allied war aim.
Such a surrender would've kept the Soviets out of eastern Europe, and saved literally millions of lives.
One also cannot discount the personal motives of those who wished to kill him, and there were A LOT more German officers who wanted him dead than Allied propaganda would like one to believe: the idea that not all Germans were supporters of Hitler, and had the strength of conscience to do something about it.
EDIT: For those who insist about "Barbarossa" destroying the Third Reich, I point you to do documented evidence in the Russian, Swedish, Bulgarian and German archives that Stalin tried to surrender to Germany in late 1941: ceding essentially the same territory Lenin did in 1918. He also tried to cut a deal with the Finns, returning territory captured during the Winter War if they would drop out of the war (only fears of German occupations kept the Finns from accepting this offer). Stalin tried AGAIN in spring 1942 when it looked like the Germans were about to cut the USSR in two at the Volga.

How long does it take to become addicted to adderall?

Hi,

You've gotten some pretty good advice from the first 3 posters. But...

Nobody can tell you exactly how long it will take you to be addicted to a particular med because we are all different. However the poster who suggested 2 weeks is close to the mark. Be advised though that some people may use it for months and not get addicted, whilst some people may use it for as little as 3 days and find that "it's the best thing they've ever tried" and immediately develop a taste for it. Addiction will follow in such situations very quickly. Also, if you keep upping the dose like this and you take them everyday at higher doses without taking a break, you are putting yourself at great risk for "amphetamine psychosis" as that user also told you. This can happen in as little as 3-4 days of continuous use at higher than prescribed doses.
In general, with Adderall, or any amphetamine-based stimulant, the addiction can start in about 2-3 weeks of daily use. If you want to lower your chances of getting addicted, then stick with the dosage that your psychiatrist asked you to take (I'm assuming of course that these meds have been prescribed to you legally). Don't take any extra doses. Remember that a lot of people who get addicted to prescription meds start out by taking them to treat a genuine condition and not to get high. Hope this helps. Feel free to drop me a line if you need more.

How long should you wait until sex?

Is 16 too young for sex? If not how long should you be dating a guy until having sex? Days, weeks, months, years? What's your opinion? How long did you guys wait? I'm not thinking about it any time soon, just curious.

29 year old man living with his mom!!! Opinions please?

So I've been dating a guy for 8 months & Im overall happy with the relationship except he lives with his mom. His mom is single & doesnt have just a great paying job so any time he talks about moving she says things like "Why move when you can stay here & we can both save money." I knows he's comfortable there, but i feel like there's a point when you should be on your own. it only complicates things because he always has to come to my house if we want to spend "quality time" together not to mention his mom only tolerates me being around because she thinks Im trying to tie her son down, according to her he's to young to be trying to settle down. Please give me your thoughts!!! Am I wrong for asking him to get a place of his own?
