Is There A Spanish Version Of Evita

What was the "promise" of "Evita"?

María Eva Duarte de Perón (May 7, 1919 – July 26, 1952) was the second wife of President Juan Domingo Perón (1895–1974) and served as the First Lady of Argentina from 1946 until her death in 1952. She is often referred to as simply Eva Perón, or by the affectionate Spanish language diminutive Evita, which literally translates into English as "Little Eva".

Born out of wedlock in rural Argentina in 1919, at the age 15 she made her way to the nation's capital of Buenos Aires where she pursued a career as a stage, radio, and film actress. Eva met Colonel Juan Perón in 1944 at a charity event in San Juan. The two were married the following year. In 1946, Juan Perón was elected President of Argentina. Over the course of the next six years, Eva Perón became powerful within the Pro-Peronist trade unions, essentially for speaking on behalf of labor rights. She also ran the Ministries of Labor and Health, founded and ran the charitable Eva Perón Foundation, championed women's suffrage in Argentina, and founded and ran the nation's first large-scale female political party, the Female Peronist Party.

In 1951, Eva Perón accepted the Peronist nomination for the office of Vice President of Argentina. In this bid she received great support from the Peronist political base, low-income and working class Argentines referred to as descamisados or "shirtless ones". However, opposition from the nation's military and elite, coupled with her declining health, ultimately forced her to withdraw her candidacy. In 1952, shortly before her death from cancer at the age of 33, Eva Perón was given the official title of "Spiritual Leader of the Nation" by the Argentine Congress.[1] [2][3]

Eva Perón has remained an important cultural figure in Argentine society where she has been the subject of many biographies, novels, plays, documentaries, motion pictures, and museums. [4] [5] Cristina Fernandez, the first female elected President of Argentina, claims that women of her generation owe a debt to Eva for "her example of passion and combativeness". [6] Outside of Argentina, "Evita's life has evidently just begun" [7] as she has "attained the condition of apotheosis — becoming a deity in the new world pantheon of electronic celebrity." [2]

Which song in Evita is the best?

A2AWow…that's difficult because there really isn't a bad song in the entire show, but I'm going to have to go with “Waltz for Eva and Che.” This is where I, as an audience member, struggle with my empathy for Eva Peron, but Che flat out refuses her any empathy at all, and probably rightly so. I love those moments of cognitive dissonance because it sort of forces me to reexamine what I have always supposed to be deeply held beliefs. Sometimes the answers that come back surprise me.

What does the name of Evita mean?

Of Spanish origin. From the name EVE which means Life

What does "Tale Evita" Mean?

If it's Italian, it's senseless, since it can mean "guy avoid". Not meaning "avoid the guy", but just a word for "guy, that manm that woman" and the verb "evitare", "to avoid", presente tense third singular person or imperative, second and third singular person.
Or can mean "That woman, Evita", where Evita is a name or a woman.
That'd be formally correct, though little strange.

What does the spanish word "la coca(ina)" mean?

I am probably mis-spelling the word.

I am thinking the translation would mean something like "young lady" or "beautiful child." On the other hand, Evita was a bar room dancer when she met Peron so maybe the word means "bar girl" or something like that.

Why is Eva Peron Important?

Eva Peron was the wife of Argentine president Juan Peron. He would've been just another Latin American dictator, but Eva gave the regime a strong populist edge, strongly embracing the redistribution of wealth from the rich to the poor (though it's debatable how much she really helped the poor rather than herself)

La Vie Boheme/ Evita?

I love Rent too and I listen to it 24/7! Basically what they're saying is that the dog breed was an Akita and that it's name was Evita. It's like saying, "There was a death in the family if you must know." "Who died?" "Our golden retriever." "Lucky."

-Basically they are just realizing that the dog that Angel killed was Benny's. When they heard that it was an Akita, they realized it much have been the dog named Evita that Angel was payed to kill. It's just some funny irony, but I don't think it relates at all to the Evita mentioned in your Spanish class.
