Is There A Way To Drive In Oregon

Fastest way to drive to anchorage AK from oregon?

The fastest way, once you've exited the Alaskan Highway at Dawson Creek, is to head mostly south toward the Vancouver area. To make best time avoid going through Vancouver proper, but take the expressways at the east working toward highway 99 south and meet up with I-5 the rest of the way. The border crossing on I-5 can have a long wait. It's usually better to go to the next one east, recommended for truckers. This route is pretty good: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s...

The problem with the Cassiar Highway is that once at Kitimat, there's no way to go further south, except by boat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassiar_Hig...

Between Los Angeles and San Francisco, definitely take Highway 1. It is a beautiful drive.Fill up in San Luis Obispo, gas, food, and water. North of there things get pretty sparse. Try to support the local businesses that are open, but it’s been a really tough few years for many of them. Make sure to bring CDs to listen to, all radio signals disappear for a while. And expect to take it slow in the summer months, you’ll likely get stuck behind RVs.San Simeon is a great stop in general. Hearst Castle is the main attraction there, but Sam Simeon Bay is a very nice spot to stop, have lunch and a swim.North of San Francisco, I’d have a hard time choosing. I like both of those drives. Highway 1 might be the better choice if you want to see more ocean, but Highway 101 takes you through wine country…

If you're going the back way, which is what I call the trip across the Arizona desert through Nevada, crossing into Oregon at Klamath Falls and going up over the mountains on Highway 58. The fine line between desert and rainforest comes out after you pass Crescent Lake Junction. You can almost see the line drawn by observing the change from pine trees to fir trees. Also you can see the flow of lava from ancient explosions in the mountains. That flow is no longer observable around Crescent Lake Junction. However many people have a picture of Oregon in their mind as all rainforest. Oregon is rectangular-shaped. There is the west coast line, followed by about 5% of coastal range. Then follows Willamette Valley which is definitely the area most people think about when they think rain and Oregon. The Willamette Valley covers about the following 25% of Oregon heading east maybe 30%. And from there all the way to the Idaho border is upper desert land. The other way that people come from Arizona to Oregon is a cross California. And that is a whole nother story which is one that someone else will have to describe because I have only personally driven that twice. And it involves many more changes than as if you came across Arizona and Nevada because both of those states are basically desert land

How long does it take to drive to miami florida from portland oregon?

Miami is among typically the most popular vacation areas and with hotelbye you will find out more. Miami has anything for everybody; from the fashionable nightlife of South Beach, bejeweled by the attention candy of the Art Deco region around the bustle of Calle Ocho and the very caffeinated power of Small Havana. The Art Deco District brings back thoughts of a youthful time in Florida with its beautifully restored 1930s Art Deco houses and is just a place properly visited the same as Bayside Marketplace. That place is really a big outdoor type mall with more than 150 specialty and tourist stores, numerous restaurants and restaurants, and everyday live entertainment.
