Can you add an S-video plug to a laptop that doesn't have one? If so, how? Is it difficult/expensive?

k buddy - i don't have cheapest solution but here is the best solution

go to http://www.gefen.com and check out their HD Mate Scaler - upscales everything to full HD 1920x1200 or 1080p
- connects 3 video sources (2 component and one dvi/hdmi)
to tv
- switches between audio/video sources within a second
- you can even connect yr game console thru it to yr tv
- doesn't have S-video but has component and component is
superior to S-video

Struggling to get my laptop connected to my TV through s-video cable, any ideas??

I have a fujitsu seimens amilo PA 1510 laptop, and a sony trinitron sony kv28fx20u tv connected through an s-video cable. I have tried all manner of ways to get the picture to register but nothing appears on my screen through the YC2 or YC3 channels on my tv. I have tried pressing Fn F4 key but again my laptop flickers but nothing on the tv. I get the feeling I am missing something obvious. I have read that some laptops need to be switched in the bios, i've looked in my bios and I cannot see any variable that is applicable. I've tried to add as much info as possible but please ask me for anything else. Any ideas out there anyone??

cheers

fred

Does my TV-Sony KDF-46E2000 will load videos from my laptop through HDMI cable? ?

Yes, if your laptop has an HDMI, then use it. As far as precautions, there really aren't any needed. It sounds as though your laptop is pretty high end and it's display is likely capable of some pretty high resolutions that your TV does not support... so if you try to run a resolution the TV does not support, you will probably get an unsupported mode message.

When I plug my laptop into my TV how do I get the sound to come from the TV?

Depending on your laptop/TV make and model, you have 3 options and need at least one of them.1- If your laptop/TV supports HDMI inputs/outputs, you just need an HDMI cable to connect your laptop and TV - the sound too, will pass through the cable.2- If your TV supports audio inputs (most TVs do), you need a stereo mini jack to RCA cable/adapter like this one:3- If your laptop/TV supports Airplay (a feature by Apple) you can connect your Macbook/Mac mini/iPhone and TV wirelessly with Apple TV (additional purchase may be required). The other product is Chromecast by Google. You connect the device to your TV if it supports USB. The device can connect to your mobile device/computer wirelessly and transmits AV (audio/video, audio+video)And there are some other options too, but they are product-specific, like Samsung's smart TVs and so on.

How can I connect my Fujitsu laptop to a TV?

Hello, I'm having some problems with connecting my laptop to my TV to view movies/pictures...

Is it possible to connect my laptop (a Fujitsu Lifebook A series) to my TV? There is an S Video on the back of the laptop so I bought an S Video cable. It's plugged in the laptop and TV but how would I change the display from monitor to the TV? My friend told me to go to display and look for video card but I don't see it? Does that mean my laptop isn't capable even though there's an S Video in the back of laptop? Sorry, I'm a newb when it comes to this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

What's the best way to connect my laptop to my tv?

I have an hp laptop (dv6000) and a sony flat screen wallmount tv. I want to connect the two so that the screen and sound come through the television. I've connected them using the vga cable, but that does nothing for the sound. Will an s-video cable work for both sound and picture?

How do I Connect Or Laptop To An Old CRT TV And Use It As A Screen? The CRT TV Has NO HDMI OR USB PORT? My Laptop is Sony Vaio VGN -N320E.

Since the CRT tv would have a composite connection i.e. 3 pins; red, yellow and white, and assuming your laptop has HDMI port, you can use a hdmi to composite converter. Something like this:1.5 Meter HDMI To 3-RCA Video Audio AV Component Converter Adapter Cable For HDTV, DVD (Black)

Need Help Connecting My Laptop To My TV...?

I have a Compaq Laptop that i'm tring to connect to my hitachi 46W500 T.V. I'm using an S-Video Chord to connect them and so far have had no luck. I plug the Chord into my laptops S-Video port and Put into the 5th input S-video port in my tv. With the remote i turn the input to the 5th one and all i get is a black screen. But where it says what channel your are on up in the right hand corner it says S-In so i guess that it is connected right. Plus i can see my laptops screen when i do this process with my vizio but that is a small tv so i dont like it that much. I have skimmed through the manual a couple times to find something that helped me. Please help me i need it.
