Is There A Way To Save Old Voicemail Messages Off A Cellphone

Are voicemail messages stored in the sim card or the phone itself???

neither. Messages are stored on the carriers voicemail server, which you access with your phone number, think of it as the "username" and your pin number, think of it as the "password". If you need to access your messages, find out what the voicemail number is for your carrier, and dial it from ANY phone.

Also, the SIM card IS the number. If you take it our your phone has almost no identification. (almost). So you plug that into any compatible phone, and you're good to go.

When a cell phone dies, it should go to voicemail?

when my phone dies it rings 3 times and then goes to voicemail...maybe its like the last person said and not quite completely dead.

maybe your friend was busy and didnt feel like talking. i wouldnt worry about it too much. i've not answered the phone and then said i didnt hear it. it doesnt mean i dont care about my friends. sometimes ppl just dont feel like talking. dont take it too personally! :)

How do I save a voicemail on my mobile phone forever?

To paraphrase Prince, forever is a mighty long time.Saving forever is impossible because at some point the universe will end and your recording will be gone. However, if you just need your voicemail to last long enough that you can transfer it from one format to another until you are dead, here's what you need to do. Do not trust your service provider to keep that voicemail safe. Make a copy. Play the message over speakerphone and record it with your tablet/laptop/second smartphone/cassette recorder. Save that recording. Back it up to the cloud if it's digital. In a decade or so, when formats change, re-record it to the new format. Keep repeating this until you die, at which point you won't care about the recording anymore.

How can I transfer my voicemails from my old phone to my new phone?

on smartphones (iphone/android/Blackberry/windows/palm)... Basic and enhanced VMs are transferred from the VM platform server to the smartphone via Visual Voicemail (VVM) APIs. Once on the phone, you can save them to your SD card if the VVM app you have has this function. BUT-----if you switching phone brands (iphone to android, android to iphone, windows to iphone, etc) then you CANNOT transfer the voicemails... no IFs ANDs BUTs... files are saved in the format of the OS brand..... its like saving a sound file on windows 7 and wanting to open the same file on a MAC... or vice versa.... not going to happen!!!!!! Sorry.

on basic flip and bar phones.... VMs are saved on the VM Platform server for 21 days before they are auto deleted (per policy)...... so you have access to your voicemails on any basic device... for 21 days

my advice to you.... if this is a smartphone, stick with the OS brand (iphone to iphone, android to android, windows to windows, BB to BB, palm to palm)... that way you can get an app or use your current app to save the voicemails to your sd card... get the new phone upgrade of teh same OS you haev now--- pop in the old SD card... and walla... you still have your voicemails...

OR... get Google Voice.... voicemails are saved to your Google account... access them anywhere you get Google..

OR.... get a digital reorder from Wal-Mart... play the voicemails... record them on the cheap digital recorder... and walla... issue resolved...
