Is There A Way To Turn Off Your Feelings

Nope, you are stuck with them. Why would you want to? Would you want to be some mindless robot, is that what you want? I think life without feelings, without having passion for things, would suck.People admire those who are passionate about things and without feelings no one would be passionate about anything. Perhaps our civilization wouldn’t be where it is today if people didn’t have feelings and weren’t so passionate. Why would inventors and others spend countless hours working on things if they weren’t passionate about them? Wouldn’t they instead just do the minimum amount and go home? Why would anyone want to be a police officer, astronaut, soldier or other dangerous jobs if they didn’t believe in what they were doing? Surely there are easier and less risky ways to make a living. No, it is feelings and passion which drives the human race.

How can you turn off your feelings and emotions?

Build mental toughness so that the feelings won't feel too bad.
Rigorous physical workout can build mental toughness.
Improving self-confidence, self-esteem, and other types of mental conditioning can build mental toughness.

Rigorous thinking exercises like difficult mathematics, playing minesweeper at high speed, going above and beyond in studying/reading can build mental toughness.

You can also try to address the problems causing negative emotions.
This requires reliving painful memories of your life and trying to understand the circumstances and the reasons associated with it, then finding a way to come to terms with it.
It also requires you to explore who you are, what makes you tick, your fears, your strengths and weaknesses in order to have a full understanding of your problems.

Last thing: Remember you are a human being with emotions. Don't strive to be "perfect" because such a thing is impossible. It's okay to make mistakes, do things that you are embarrassed about. Trying to suppress your emotions with drugs, I think will dehumanize you. I think drugs should be used as a last resort when it's necessary. That's just me though.

I believe that I have found a way to do so. As a highly emotional individual, I was led by my selfish emotions for most of my life, then I realized what a wrecking ball I was to myself. I tried everything from alcohol to weed to anti-anxiety meds. I tried exercise, meditation, reading, praying to Pagan deities, etc. The best results have been extreme isolation and being selfish. I feel so much better. I’ve always been on the calmer side, so being emotionless makes me appear like a dead corpse, so I wouldn’t recommend it for use in public. I can handle being alone for long periods without feeling needy, but that’s just me. I also realized my emotions were self centered to begin with so they might not even be valid to this question.You just have to make everything about you. When in public, and you feel the need to react, hold it in and go to a bathroom, breathe, take a selfie, and just remember it’s all about you. Don’t take anyone or anything in. Ignore everyone. Indulge in yourself. Avoid most social contact. Become a loaner. Don’t bond with people, ever. Turn off your phone. Be independent and never need anyone. (The best advice anyone ever gave me was to be ok being alone. I took that to heart). Play solitary games. Get a job working in a forensics lab during a graveyard shift. Believe their is no joy in anything you do, to include eating. It is all about survival and nothing more. After a while, it becomes second nature. Be cautious though, because something is bound to creep up on you and knock you down if you don’t keep your guard up.

Is there a way to turn off computer sleep mode?

Chances are its overheating. Especially because you have it set on low power mode. Low power mode will reduce energy any way it can and one of the ways is slowing the speed of the fans or completely shutting them off. Which will cause the Laptop to overheat and turn off... Try running it with Normal Power or High Performance and see what happens. Dont download any program to see how hot your computer is just put your hand on the bottom and feel. It will save you from getting viruses.

How to turn off emotions ?

It is possible. People who claim that only the mentally ill can turn their emotions off are completely wrong. I've been in some low places in my life.. and one such time, I was able to let go of everything. I had managed to turn it all off. It wasn't the best idea however, because it makes it very difficult to "feel" again. Thing don't make you laugh as much, smile as much, if at all. But on the other side, you don't cry as much either.

For me, it was just a matter of stopping the pain. As hard as it is, we are in control of our thoughts and emotions. It happened just after a breakup, I was depressed for months. I was crying, then in the middle of that, I just stopped. My expression become blank, and I wasn't sad anymore. I was over it. It was like nothing mattered to me anymore, nothing was special. It was like the world went from vivid colors, to a dull, lifeless place. But if it means stopping the pain, is it worth it?

When I met my girlfriend afterwards, she brought new meaning to my life. But I was still "schizoid" as my doctor had said. Even though I new this girl was special, and meant a lot to me, I couldn't feel love. I had to force myself to turn my emotions back on just to feel again, and with it came EVERYTHING.. it was messy. Paranoia, stress, fear, depression... But it was leveled out with the affection and attraction that I had for my girlfriend, which eventually blossomed into a beautiful relationship of three years.. Now that we've been forced apart, I find myself at a difficult decision; should I forget it and stop caring and have that lack of emotion? Is it worth it?

Now why would you want to kill all your emotions and feelings ? We are human beings. It is these emotions and feelings which make us so. Maybe somebody hurt you badly and pushed you to your limits, I guess. Okay,so? Don't take it too hard. Feel like crying your heart out. Cry then. Give vent to your feelings and let it go. JUST LET GO. Don't attach yourself to what happened . It will soon become a thing of the past. You can't undo anything . The best that you can do is to learn a lesson from it. You should try the following: 1. Learn from your mistakes. It is said that a  mistake happens once only, second time it is a choice. 2. If you were not in the wrong, then it is not your problem. Be strong enough to realize this. Those who wronged you will be judged by the Almighty. So try to gain back your confidence. No use wasting time for those who don't deserve  your valuable time and love.3. Find more interests in life. Get yourself busy. This will also help you get over anything that is upsetting you.4. Get yourself into the habit of meditation. It will calm you as well as give you strength.5. Don't pity yourself. Instead respect yourself. If people are handing you down any nonsense,don't take it. There's a story related to Socrates that I remember in this context. Socrates was not very good to look at, but he was a great saint. His wife used to rubbish him always. But he used to be calm and quiet. He was never perturbed at her. His followers once asked him as to why he didn't  say anything  to her. He replied calmly that he never accepted what she was giving to him; he never took it , so what could he say to her. Lord Buddha also said something like this: If anyone is criticizing you or saying bad words to you, don't accept . Say to yourself" I am not taking it ". Then you will not be hurt. 6. So just be bold enough to reject any negativity hurled your way and be positive always. Laugh off the things you don't like. 7. Move on in life. Don't stagnate.8. Look at the beautiful things Nature has provided us with. Admire them.9. Feel gratitude . Live in gratitude. Keep thanking God for all the wonderful things he has given.All the best in life.
