Is There Any Setc Bus From Bangalore To Mayiladuthurai

I took a SETC bus from Chennai to Neyveli. Actually that bus' destination is Thanjavur. I have been charged full fare (fare from Chennai to Thanjavur) for travel to Neyveli. When I asked the conductor, he said "If you are ok with the fare, travel, or get down the bus." How do I deal with this situation?

I hope few conductors behaving like this, due to short of passenger in SETC, they want to submit the collection by EOD. In order to give or targeted collection, they are rude and going against the rules & regulations of the transportation industry. You can raise a complaint against him by visiting the Particular Divisional office with the proof ticket and evidence. (With Co passengers support). This has to be treated in high priority. Need to take such incidents through social media to showcase behavior of such rude activities.

What is the best and cheapest local transport in Ooty, Tamilnadu?

Dear Ramakrishnan,Thanks for connecting me.If you want to roam around OOTY town roads, you can prefer Bus, Autos or Two wheelers.Two wheelers you can get for rent. One shop is there near Assembly Rooms theater in Botanical garden road.You can prefer Buses which is cheap too but frequency will be less.Autos you can get for nominal cost.If you want to visit places around OOTY then you have prefer for Jeep or Cab. If you hire this through known persons then you can get best packages with good price.Have a wonderful visit!! :-)

How can I reach Thiruvarur from Chidambaram?

I have never seen Direct Government bus to reach Tiruvarur(TVR) from Chidambaram(CDM) and vice versa. Two Private Buses Jaahirhussain & Yogamangalam are available. These two buses running between TVR and CDM.Intermediate place is Mayiladuthurai where you can get many buses either to reach TVR or CDM. Every 20 minutes, you will get bus to reach Mayiladuthurai from TVR and the travel time is around 1 Hr 10 minutes. The travel time from Mayiladuthurai to CDM is around 1 Hr 30 minutes and also many private and government buses are available.Train also available at times to reach Tiruvarur from Mayiladuthurai.Thanks for reading.

What are your best or worst experiences in SETC buses?

Incident 1:I selected boarding point as St.Johns at Bangalore for going home.Clearly the scheduled timing was mentioned as 9 pm for that stop.I reached there by 8.40.I waited till 10(thought some traffic issue). Bus didn’t come. So, I started asking other route conductors and drivers whether the bus for my hometown has gone already or it hasn’t come yet.All of them told the same answer ”Bus will come..Wait!! ”Time was 10:30...11:00( Meanwhile, I was repeatedly asking the conductors and drivers around there to ensure that bus didn’t reach my boarding point)Their answer was same.Somehow my intuition said,this place is heavily crowded,there is a chance that bus might get moved a bit far from this place.Yes,It was correct.As there was huge crowd over that area, buses were started randomly moving and waited only for few minutes.Eventually...I missed the bus.Time was 12:00 AM.Didn’t know how to react for that situation.After sometime, I took other bus and went home.It was hell journey of 17 hrs(Indeed I stood for more than 11 hrs during that journey).This is all because of no proper communication between passengers and respective persons of the bus.If SETC provides the facilities like sending bus details and contact numbers to the passengers mobile,I wouldn’t have faced this issue.I mailed to http://www.tnstc.in/ about this incident,also tried calling them many times, no response till now.Incident 2:While boarding bus at Hosur bus stand,I saw one bus named as Mayiladuthurai(my hometown’s name). As I knew only one SETC bus is available for my hometown, I went and asked the conductor to check my details.HE:Where you want to go ?Me: MayiladuthuraiHE: This bus won’t go there.Your bus is on the way.Wait for some time!!Me:But in bus front side it was written as MAYILADUTHURAI. What is this then? I asked politely.HE:Don’t ask any questions...just go and wait for some time if you want(Was very rude).Me:Seriously Confused!!After some time my bus was arrived and I went.Like this many things are happening,Though you booked the ladies seat,some gents will sit beside you.If you ask,they will simply tell,It’s not our mistake,you didn’t book properly.Else,some system problem that we are unaware of!!Even if we carried e-ticket (E-mail received from TNSTC), they will not allow any passenger to travel without print out copy.Thanks SETC for making our journeys memorable!!

My suggestion is use Ola or Uber . It is very best, You can relax while going by these services.If you want to drive, take a car for rent from Zipcap, Myles, Zoom car
