Is There Any Way To Have A Computer Run On Windows 7 Shut Down At A Certain Time

What are all the shortcuts to shut down a windows computer?

Would usually put: shutdown /f /s /p /t 0run -> shutdown /something:    /i         Display the graphical user interface (GUI).               This must be the first option.    /l         Log off. This cannot be used with /m or /d options.    /s         Shutdown the computer.    /r         Full shutdown and restart the computer.    /g         Full shutdown and restart the computer. After the system is               rebooted, restart any registered applications.    /a         Abort a system shutdown, only to be used during the time-out period.    /p         Turn off the local computer with no time-out or warning.               Can be used with /d and /f options.    /h         Hibernate the local computer.               Can be used with the /f option.    /hybrid    Performs a shutdown of the computer and prepares it for fast startup.               Must be used with /s option.    /e         Document the reason for an unexpected shutdown of a computer.    /o         Go to the advanced boot options menu and restart the computer.               Must be used with /r option.    /m \\computer Specify the target computer.    /t xxx     Set the time-out period before shutdown to xxx seconds.               The valid range is 0-315360000 (10 years), with a default of 30.               If the timeout period is greater than 0, the /f parameter is               implied.    /c "comment" Comment on the reason for the restart or shutdown.               Maximum of 512 characters allowed.    /f         Force running applications to close without forewarning users.               The /f parameter is implied when a value greater than 0 is               specified for the /t parameter.    /d [p|u:]xx:yy  Provide the reason for the restart or shutdown.               p indicates that the restart or shutdown is planned.               u indicates that the reason is user defined.               If neither p nor u is specified the restart or shutdown is               unplanned.               xx is the major reason number (positive integer less than 256).               yy is the minor reason number (positive integer less than 65536).

Is there a way to lock my computer at a certain time each day? (Windows 7) Please read?

Is there a program or some built-in way to have it so I'm unable to log in (for example) from 2 pm to 5 pm on weekdays? I mean this for all users not just standard. And if I'm on the computer at 2 it will log me out/shut down. This needs to work even if the computer is turned off and on between 2 and 5 pm. ( So you can't just shutdown between 2-5 pm and turn it back on to bypass the restriction )

Or is there a way I can restrict only logging into the guest account during this time (2-5 pm) ?

Any help is appreciated.

How long can a computer run 24/7 without being shut down? When will it die?

As posted by other people, the most likely cause of failure will be the hard drive giving out. Moving parts tend not to last that long. Flash disks with heavy usage die fast as well. But let me expand on what people do to avoid this in big organisations. You don't really "add a hard drive" to a server anymore. The software in a modern enviroment is completely abstracted from the hardware it runs on, and in many cases, even from the operating system...Yes, that sounds weird, but is quite logical.First off: Storage happens on a big drive array. Usually contains hundreds of flash and spinning drives. A single drive failure is completely transparant. You get an alert to replace the drive and the array repairs itself automatically.Servers don't really have hard-drives anymore. Just a link to the disk-array. Normally, servers only require a flash-disk(or even no drive whatsoever using PXE) to boot and the rest is iSCSI or Fiber channel.Operating systems run on a hypervisor on the server, meaning that you don't install windows or linux on the server, you install it on the hypervisor(usually vmware or KVM). You can move a OS to another physical server very easily and even without downtime. A server blows up? No problem=> your hypervisor simply boots your operating system up on another physical server. This level of abstration goes on all the way to the application itself, read up on kubernetes and docker for instance. Pretty neat stuff. And to top that off: the network complexity goes up quite a bit when implementing this kind of redundancy. No point in adding hundreds of drives if the transport of data becomes a single point of failure :)

My windows 7 64-bit Dell computer (probably) has a serious virus... how can I get rid of it?

Okay, you have 2 options at this point. The first one will save your files, but the second one will fix it for sure, but you will lose any files that you haven't back up somehow.

The first thing that I would try is using a rescue disk. This will require another computer that isn't infected with any viruses. A rescue disk is essentially a operating system, so it allows you to bypass the computers operating system, and access the hard drive and run your anti-virus software without the virus getting in the way.

If you want to use a CD/DVD to fix the problem, go to the following site and follow the instructions: http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/rescuedisk/main?qid=208282484

If you want to use an external hard drive such as a flash drive, go to the following site and follow the instructions: http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/rescuedisk/main?qid=208282163

If you can't get it to work, you only have one choice remaining; rewrite windows. You will need to have the Windows 7 startup/recovery disc. WARNING! YOU WILL LOSE ANY FILES YOU DO NOT HAVE BACKED UP TO ANOTHER DEVICE! Just follow the instructions that came with your computer when you first set it up.

Hope this helps!

Can I set a timer on my PC to shut it down? How?

There are a few ways to accomplish the task, depending on your OS.1. Using the "at" command in Windows (It exists in GNU/Linux too, but I've never used it yet)at
