Is There Anyone In Dubai Who Deals With Aficionado Perfumes

I’m starting a perfume business. How much could I potentially earn, and is it worth it?

I can’t speak about potential earnings, but I can mention things that are pretty important. If you want to make serious money, you obviously need excellent products. But many people who are excellent at a particular craft are not as excellent at marketing (or may even dislike it). Does this sound like you? Some people who have no background in marketing may find that they are good at pushing their stuff on social media. It’s important to remember, though, that this takes a lot of time - it’s like a separate job. Or maybe you can hire a marketer. Is that in your budget? ;) In any case, a great product won’t go anywhere without someone selling it. Look at your competition - huge perfume companies with enormous advertising budgets. You may also want to give samples to people (not just your friends who will say it’s great) to see if there’s real demand for your stuff.I spent some really fun creative time creating my own scents, and the people I had try them often liked them and even asked for more. BUT… I didn’t like the production part. Yes, blending and making the scents was fun, but then you have packaging. Have you had that designed yet? You don’t want your stuff to look cheap. :) I also didn’t care for the painstaking placing of the scents into bottles - it was messy, kind of boring, and it wasn’t precise. Production can be made more efficient with proper equipment for packaging, blending, and material storage. (refrigeration, etc.) But that also costs money, and again, you might need an employee(s) if you don’t like doing that, so there’s another budget item.Materials for perfume are very expensive if you want top quality. I would suggest doing some research on what your intended materials will cost. Jasmine grandiflorum, which is a heavenly smell, is super expensive. Other materials may not be that much, but it all adds up, and will need to be figured into your prices. If you want to make traditional perfume, you’ll also need to look into perfume alcohol and its cost. This part definitely tripped me up, and made me want to stick to it as a hobby.Maybe someone else can comment on potential earnings. I hope this helps you with some useful ideas, and good luck!

What is your favourite Persian food?

I come from a long line of food lovers. Food isn’t sustenance; it’s a language of love, a way to connect with your elders, an indulgence.Pilaf is a dish originating from Iran, in which rice is cooked in a seasoned broth.Yakhni pulao is a spiced pilaf that I’ve been eating since I was young. This particular variation finds its origins in North India. I was actually speaking to Ahmad Nisar (who wrote an excellent answer to this question) about the countless merits of pulao just the other day, so this dish has been on my mind this weekend.Basmati rice becomes fat with flavor, soaking up the stock of the meat, the titular yakhni. The heady fragrance of spices begins to waft up, cloves and cardamom, sticks of cinnamon jutting up out of the yellowed rice. The food eaten in Pakistan has a reputation for its spice, but pulao? Pulao is pure comfort food.If this dish is anything, it’s tender. The meat, slow cooked and just waiting to fall to pieces in your mouth. The rice, light and greasy and mild against your palate. There’s only the weakest suggestion of spice, whole green chilies that rest against the tasty mess of the dish, an offer that you can choose to refuse, if you’d like. Twists of roasted onions littered over the plate, a taste that softens each bite it comes with. You could add accompaniments, although the dish doesn’t need them. You could offset that warm, wet rice with raita (seasoned yoghurt), cold from the fridge and flushed with red chilli powder. The crunch of fresh cucumber becomes a welcome interruption in your bites, now. My favorite thing to eat with pulao and raita is actually chicken qorma.I take a ladle and pour the deep-red gravy over my rice, and an hour later, as I spoon the last perfect bites into my mouth, it’s easy to see why this is the food that was served to Alexander when he conquered the land we now call Samarkand.
