Is There Anywhere Around Southern California That I Can Learn To Ride Bulls

How hard is it to learn to ride a motorcycle?

I may be the best one to answer this as I have recently learnt it.Before going ahead, let me tell you, like you, I could ride a bicycle and also no-gear scooters. Never owned a motorcycle and never borrowed from anyone.Since ages, I had this aim/dream to own a Royal Enfield Classic 350. It is a 350cc heavy cruiser motorcycle with a weight of around 200kgs. It is a heavy one. All metallic body. Now, after working and saving for 2 years, I finally could save enough money to buy it. I bought it and my father asked one person from the showroom to deliver it to our home. Which he did.I was so excited to ride it but I didnt know that.So what I did? I started watching YouTube tutorial videos for Beginners on How to Learn to Ride a Motorcycle. I watched till like 12–1 at night, watching random videos on the same things which gave me a lot of ideas to get started with. Yes, I would like to mention that I have like a week training in cars (I mean if there is any emergency, I can take you to hospital. Mind it, it will be a bumpy ride :p)So the next morning, I woke up at 5 and so did my father. As I learnt from the videos, I kickstarted the bull and slowly released the clutch to know the friction zone of the clutch. You will get to know all about them in the YouTube videos. I am not going to teach you here, obviously :pIt is now 1 month and I already rode like 800 kms on it. Yes, on the first day, the gear shifts will make some noise and might be bumpy but in a week, you will get used to it.Mind one thing. Speed isnt important. Get the balance. Get the gear shift your second nature. Work on those. Start - Change to 1st Gear from Neutral - Go a bit - Stop - Repeat. I had some difficulty in moving the bike in the 1st gear and so does many. Work more and more on that.Let me tell you one thing. Be responsible while riding a motorcycle. It is 2 wheeler and so are very risky. Be in a speed which you can control while in an emergency. Wear proper gear all the time.Enjoy Learning! If you need any tips or tricks, do let me know. I am not an experienced but learning everything fresh and so I can teach better. ;)Hope that helps.

Why are the people who ride horses called cowboys instead of horseboys?

The word cowboy was first used in Ireland during the middle ages. During this time the word literally described a young boy who tended cattle. These young “cowboys” tended to the cattle, not on horseback, but on foot. The word then surfaced in England with references to the cowboy in the 1620’s, but written proof of the word didn’t actually appear until the late 17th century. As in Ireland the word meant nothing more than a boy who tended cows.In US history, the word “cowboy” got a derogatory start. During the American Revolutionary War the British contemptuously used the term for marauding Americans who stole their cattle and other property. However the Oxford Dictionary states that the word is “a contemptuous appellation applied to some of the Tory partisans of Westchester County, NY,” from 1785.In any case, throughout most of early American history no one would admit to being a “cowboy”. In fact the word didn’t get much use until the great trail drives that came north from Texas were at an end due to the birth of the railroad system.North American cattlemen or cattle herders called themselves buckaroos which was Anglicized from the Spanish word, Vaquero meaning “cow man”. Other labels that cattlemen prefer to use over the word “cowboy” are - cowpoke, cowpuncher, ranch hand, and drover. Not until the initiation of Wild West Shows in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, did the term “cowboy” come into regular use. While not necessarily portrayed in a realistic manner, starting in the 1920’s and continuing on to this very day, western films have popularized the man and the myth of the American “cowboy.”

Is a "heavy barrel" and a "bull barrel" the same thing?

Yes. And good for a target gun, but not something you want to hump around the woods hunting.

ADDED: Even with a short barrel, its at least a pound or two pounds heavier. If you have a lightweight stock, that will help a little. Bull barrels are generally used on target guns, or other times when you are shooting from a rest, like tactical (i just cant say 'sniper') shooting. Also, its harder to steady a heavy rifle offhand, so you best learn how to use a sling for support.

When did Congress terminate bullfighting in the United States?

EDIT: BULLFIGHTS WERE NOT TERMINATED IN THE UNITED STATES. Spanish bullfighting was never a part of the American culture, which is why it couldn´t have been banned by the Congress. Besides, there are several types of bullfighting all around the world. American Bullfighting is very much different from the traditional Spanish or Portuguese bullfighting.American bullfighting is called rodeo, and it´s about the ability to stay mounted on a bouncing, bucking bull. When the bullfighter / cowboy falls, it is always distracted by and lead away (from the bullfighter) by a rodeo clown. No bulls need to be killed in this kind of bullfighting; they are used over and over again. They are trained to buck, not to fight. An American bullfighter trying to ride a bucking bull.Spanish bullfighting aka toreo is an act of artistic slaughter of a bull, and consists of three stages: tercio de varas, tercio de banderillas, and tercio de muerte (otherwise called faena). Every bull that is sent in the bullring has to die there, unless it is found physically unsuitable for a fight, or unless it is indulto aka pardoned for an extreme bravery, which is done before the final killing.A Spanish bullfighter trying to kill a bull in an artistic way.Spanish bullfighting with tercio de muerte (the final stage with the slaughter of the bull) is not practiced in the United States because it is not allowed to kill an animal in a competition or a festivity. However, Spanish bullfighting without harming or killing of bovines (aka “bloodless bullfighting”) is allowed by the law in the state of Texas, and if I remember correctly, in some parts of Southern California. The animal gets out of the fight alive, and the bullfighter merely “dances” with it, using only his usual capes but not the swords and only mock banderillas.A bloodless bullfight with mock velcro banderillas, in which the animal gets to live and doesn´t shed a drop of blood.

Why do SWAT teams kill all dogs when serving a warrant at a household?

I was watching a few youtube videos on SWAT entries and time and time again they immediately kill any dog that they see. You would think that they would shot just a pit bull that is about to attack them, but this is not the case. They shoot to kill even small harmless dogs that just bark or they deem annoying. I am assuming this is part of protocol, but why haven't departments come up with better policies regarding the matter? It's important to mention that there are many times when SWAT serve warrants and the people or suspect isn't there or the wrong location. The dogs still suffer a needless death.

Would a Spanish Fighting Bull make an effective Rodeo Bull?

I think that Elissa Hunt answered your question perfectly, but if you really want my answer, here we go: I think that she was definitely right in her assumption that American rodeo bulls are not even a bit close to being as aggressive as the Spanish fighting bulls. They even look different:AMERICAN RODEO BULL - PIC NO. 1: I don´t know nothing about them but they indeed do look Indian, just like Elissa said, when I think about it. Just look at any Bollywood movie or a picture from India and you will instantly spot the similarity. Also, the horns are different, aka NOT “designed to kill”.AMERICAN RODEO BULL - PIC NO. 2: here with an American bullfighter.SPANISH FIGHTING BULL - PIC NO. 1: this is how it looks like. It can come in various colors, for example white or beige, but they are mostly Negro Mulato, like the one on the picture below.SPANISH FIGHTING BULL - PIC NO. 2: here with Spanish bullfighter Morante de la Puebla, now the World Number 25.Spanish bulls are approx. 1/3 smaller than normal, non-fighting European bulls, but they have stronger and better developed muscles, sharper horns, great strength and stamina. And they can jump. Pretty high. Yep. They jump like Roo from Winnie The Pooh. Most of all, they are extremely aggressive, as the whole species is directly descended from the Aurochs aka the ORIGINAL prehistoric bulls which were even more aggressive, and they are specifically bred to stay that way. The most aggressive bulls are nowaday bred by the Miura family. These bulls historically killed most bullfighters. Their reputation is so frightening that even the best bullfighters refuse to work with them, so they are frequently used at Novilladas aka the novice bullfights. If these bulls got in an American bullfight, most rodeo clowns and riders would be dead in the next 10 minutes. They are absolutely incompatible with the idea of what is expected from the American rodeo bulls.
