Is This A Good Custom Pc

Good custom built PC build?

I am building a PC in the summer. I'm going to be gaming, and programming, and editing videos, and recording games, and also I might get into music making. Is the PC Gamer Rig a good choice? Or what build do u recommend?

Is this a good custom build for the following tasks?

This is a very impressive setup, and will definitely serve your purposes. A few suggestions, You may want to upgrade your operating system to Win7 Ultimate. It has more options for customization and security. I would say 8 but it is so new many programs are not running capability in it yet, and you are obviously wanting to run a lot of software, something Win8 is shifting away from.Optical Drive- personal preference, you may want to upgrade that to a blu ray reader writer. To me this looks like a long running rig, and there is a shift in the disk world to the superior Blu Ray and I don't want you left in the cold, but you can also very easily swap in at a later date when you want/need to .Processor- you picked a really good one, one of the best in the business, however, if your budget permits, you may wish to upgrade to a 4th gen equivalent. I haven't experienced it yet, but word is they consume less power and perform better than their predecessors. My experience tells me the performance may be a little overhyped as a next generation anything usually just introduces the innovation and the generation after that exhibits the significant increase in performance. Motherboard- hang onto your warranty. It looks good, but there are too many negative responses to it to ignore them. Get the best warranty you can and hold on to it just in case.Question, I see all the parts, but no case. Have you picked a case that you are sure fits your motherboard

What is the best gaming custom PC I can build?

As the computer parts are fast depreciating items, you should aim for the best bang for the buck you can afford and update/upgrade parts every 5-10 months.Invest in a good Pc case that is flexible and evolutiveSome good 24" or more screens that your GPU(s) will be able to run smoothly (1 or 3 screens if it is for gaming)buy SSDs if you do not need a lot of storage add hybrid or traditional HDD otherwiseOne SSD for the OS one for the SOFTs/Games would be the bestcheck https://www.cpubenchmark.net/hig... for the best value CPU you can affordhttp://www.videocardbenchmark.ne...   Same for GPUsSome times it is best to get multiples Great Price Performance GPUs than a single one (at the time 2x GTX 970 is ~600$ and a lot better than a single gtx 980Ti at ~600$) If your SOFT can use them of course. If you want to update your rig often, DO NOT GET AN OEM windows (if you intend to use windows) otherwise you will have to buy a windows every time you change your motherboard (CPU too maybe, don't remember)If you update/upgrade often, Sell your parts, they may keep a lot of their value and make it easier to upgrade even more often. If you do a lot of calculation, build multiples computers with the left overs. You need to choose:If you are sensitive to noise and want a great look, you will update less often, have less choices, the parts will cost more and overall your pc will be less on the edge.If you do not care what your computer look inside (can still be great outside), aren't too sensitive to noise (gaming with headphones):Get a good breathing (noise cancelled if you want) case without window, and update often with good values high end parts that will keep you on the bleeding edge of performance. It may be mismatched color scheme inside but if you do not care, you will update on the cheap, have the best pc, and run things smoothly.
