Is This A Panic Attack Or What Happened To Me Help

What happened to me? HELP!!?

I HAVE ALREADY ASKED THIS, BUT DIDN'T EXPLAIN WELL. SO HERE IT IS AGAIN. Okay, so I was having a nice conversation with my friends about how I wanted a boyfriend. It kind of escalated from there and I felt terrible about myself. It seemed to happen very suddenly and I felt kind of detached from myself. I started sobbing, was shaking, and my heart was pounding. This went on for about 15 minutes. I didn't want anyone to see me and I finally calmed down. Could this be the start of something new? My friends said this was a panic attack. Was it? Could it happen again? I do have depression and anxiety.

Panic Attack? OCD? Anxiety? Or was it nothing? What happened?

A few days ago, I'd been playing sports at school and i was stiff, so my mum suggested that i take a bath. I figured it was a good idea and so started to get ready. Then my mum told me that i had to keep the door unlocked and just put a door-stop in the door (i think it's because at christmas i fainted while coming out of the shower and the door was locked and she couldn't get in and got scared, because she just heard a bang and saw my feet through the crack in the door), anyway, when she suggested this I got scared and argued against it. I always lock the door. I tried to explain to her that i just couldn't have the door unlocked, i don't know why, and was getting more and more panicked. Eventually i ran do the bathroom in a state of utter panic with tears streaming down my face and sobbing, i locked the door and cried in the corner, i really felt i needed to SI. After what i think was about half an hour i got up and went back to the door and unlocked it and put the doorstop under.

Im not sure what it was, but it happen to me occasionally like a few times a week, what is this?

I cannot go to a doctor or counselor, please do not suggest this. If those symptoms look similar to any kind of other things PLEASE TELL ME!

I am 17, also my thoughts just stopped too. I also started sweating excessively!

Panic Attack! PLEASE HELP ME!?

Panic attacks are treatable, and it sounds to me like you have had some true panic attacks. I recommend mentioning it to a doctor, and seeing what kind of treatment options are available for you. By the way, please don't think that I am saying you are crazy or anything. Panic attacks happen to many people, and most of them are quite sane. One of my friends has them. She is now on some kind of herb for them, but I can't remember the name of it.

If you are embarrassed to tell your doctor about the religious fears, at least tell him about the fears of dying and not being able to breathe. That is enough to tell him that you are having panic attacks, and then he can give you a treatment for it, and it should help all the symptoms.

You have accepted Jesus and he accepts you. You have nothing to fear. You probably know that when you think logically about it. But panic attacks are not based on logic. I don't think that just because you are having these attacks that it means you don't trust God enough. I really think there is a clinical cause of the attacks. They are not a sign of weakness or lack of faith.

I think that reading the Bible will help you. I say this because I think that the horror stories you have been told are way off the mark. I think that reading the Bible will give you the true story, and you won't have to go around fearing what people have told you. I would guess that a lot of what they have told you is not even biblical.

If you are going to read something like Revelation, which is very difficult to understand, due to all the symbolism, then you need to get very good commentary to help you understand. It was written during a time when the Christian Church was being persecuted and could not speak openly against the Empire. So they used symbolic language. When you understand what they are really saying, it's not so scary.

But really, I would not try to delve into Revelation right now. Read the Sermon on the Mount. Read the Gospels. Read Psalms.

And furthermore, understand that for those who are good, moral people, the end will not be a horrific thing. No matter what happens, God is with you, and God will make everything good.

PANIC ATTACKS!!! major Q. plz help me?

When I have my panick attacks, my heart beats faster, my mouth is dry, and I worry about what might happen. I know that it will eventually be all right and that will go away so I try to make the best of it until is passes. That's it.

Twice a day, that is a lot, but if you try all this below it might make a big difference:

The tingling hands and face, lightheaded and dizzyness is the result of hyperventilation. If you hyperventilate again, breathe in a paper bag. That is what they teach at First Aid classes.

I have had panick attacks for a long time. I never took any pills. I had Valium in my purse "in case" but never took them.

When you feel it is coming, take long, deep breaths. It slows the heart beat.

Orange Blossom and Valeriane herbal tea helps also.

There is a self-hypnosis tape that did wonders for me. It is called "Relieve Stress and Anxiety" and you can find it at www.thepotentialsunlimited.com

Seeking a therapist will help you find why you have those attacks and they will go away once you understand what is going on. Without any pills.

Take a hot bath. It knocks me right out.

Get into meditation and yoga classes. You will learn A LOT of relaxation techniques. Or you can get a book on it.

As crazy as it sounds, stay away from refined sugar and coffee. AND negative people.

The most important: exercise. It stimulates the endorphins in your brain, endorphins are the pleasure hormone that are released when you exercise, listen to music or do pleasant activities.

Find your passion. Me, it was martial arts. It kept me busy enough to stop worrying. Life is much better when you are working towards a goals that you have at heart.

Do panic attacks have a trigger?

I’ve had a few in my youth when I was extremely self-conscious. There’s a trigger. It’s almost always a thought that brings it on. An external event may trigger the thought, but it’s a thought and inability to process it that triggers the attack. .If you’re looking for a proper solution to panic attacks I’d heavily suggest taking a look at 60 Second Panic SolutionI can have a panic attack at work (which has happened) and luckily my coworkers were there to calm me down.I’ve had an attack when I go to a certain place cause of the history to me and Im known to get flashbacks which trigger an attack. It all depends on the person and the situation, everybody is different.

How can I help my mother who suffers from panic attacks and passive-aggressive disorder?

Being a parent is a difficult job even for those who do not experience a psychiatric problem. The fact is that people need help in raising children and in getting help for their emotional problems for those who have them. It was pointed out in a recent posting that it is far easier for people to get full treatment for physical illnesses than for emotional ones. While I wouldn't normally point anyone towards a self-help book Dare really did improve my life. Among these are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Modeling Therapy, EMDR, and so on. Medications reduce anxious reactions and help make the therapy work more successfully in many cases. Therefore, the purpose is not to blame people but to let them know that there is help. It is also important to remind the reader that going for help for your self does not guarantee that the child will avoid the anxiety disorders. It is important to remember that there is always that genetic influence in the background or foreground.5. A Personal Note:My mother suffered from an anxiety disorder as did her mother. Certainly, in a day when not much was known about these things, she did not go for help but lived a fairly limited life. Did she communicate her fears to me? Yes, she did but not deliberately. Later, as a young adult and someone entering the field of mental health practice, it was necessary for me to get help for my fears and inhibitions. I did so and was and am able to live a normal life and that includes writing for Mental Help Net.Source: Parent’s Anxiety Disorders And Children’s AdjustmentWhile I wouldn't normally point anyone towards a self-help book Dare really did improve my life.
