Is This A Smart Build

What is the future scope of smart building using IoT?

Without IoT, you can't make your building or occupancy smarter. To making smart building you need to consider so many things just like predictive maintenance plan, energy saving, environment control, smoke control, fire detection, air quality measurement these all things only possible with IoT. It helps to manage & monitor each section of occupancy.Smart Building ApplicationYou can leverage IoT application to monitor your occupancy operations and get real-time insight about a building. It will help you identify the issues & measure a risk in order to take precautions.Data Storing & DashboardWithout collecting data you can’t plan your predictive maintenance and enhance it. By storing data it creates a dashboard of each operation you have in a building just like HVAC, Lighting, Facility network, fire arrangements with generated data to measure on.Sensors & HardwareYou need to implement sensors in order to save energy & power consumption. The Sensors and other hardware are integrated with IoT system that gives notifications when an incident happened in occupancy.IoT SystemThat improves occupant experiences and reduce the operational cost of a building. It allows working remotely without visiting a site.Explore more at: https://www.iotconnect.io/smart-...

Can we build a small house and then add on later?

My husband and I want to build a house, but as a young couple money is tight! We're thinking that perhaps we can just build a small house to start (1000 sq ft?) and add on as we can afford it. Is something like this possible? Is it a foolish way to do it? Are there certain types of homes for which this would work better? Thanks!

If the Egyptians were smart enough to build the great pyramid, isn't it logical to assume that...?

@W.C.: So let me get this straight. You actually believe that the heaviest structure ever built by mankind served as a simple tombstone? Even though 85% of all Egyptian pyramids are covered in writing, but the great pyramid has next to none? I think there would be inscriptions all over it talking about how great the pharaoh was, but you don't find that. Stop believing what you are told and do the research yourself.

How do you build a smart city in the desert in Washington State?

Well, you'd be coming kind of late to the party. Depending upon how you define “smart" several cities already have the capacity: Prosser has more PhDs per capita than most cities in the US and has increased its infrastructure to serve same, Ephrata and several other small cities have huge computer farms (which are now making bitcoins, but in the future?), Richland is expanding its cloud services, and so on.Yes, central and eastern Washington is still a huge agriculture power house, but port authorities in the tiniest (and seemingly unlikely) communities are eagerly adopting the newest technologies. Or at least, trying to do so. The reason? Cheap power.

What is the difference between smart buildings and intelligent buildings?

Semantics. If someone claims that there is a difference recognized by Architects or the construction trade, or real estate, I would say they're full of it. I'm thrilled by the advantages in the proression of well designed sensor and control systems in buildings for both large and small scale. Leveraging the fast development and evolution of software and hardware is important to more livable and efficient buildings.
