Is This A Stupid Question

A stupid question?

There are not "stupid" questions, my dear. There are just stupid persons. You have the right to ask whatever you can't understand and you have the right to an answer.

Stupid Question About What 2 Pages Mean?

It says a "short 2-3 page paper". Does that mean at least 2 full pages or can I leave it with 1 full page and the 2nd page having a paragraph on it? I don't know what else to write.

What is a stupid question?

Any question you already know the answer to and are only asking to validate your suspicion(s) of lying, infidelity, or anything else along those lines. These kinds of questions are commonly found in relationships or in the workplace.A question you won't like the honest answer (am I fat, am I satisfying as a sexual partner, do I fulfill your needs, etc.). You'll occasionally run across someone who will not spare your feelings and give the honest answer.A stupid question is one where both parties (the one asking and the one answering) will not gain any valuable insight. To further this, that means the one answering the question doesn't know the answer and neither party takes the time to research an answer. Unanswered questions can have their feelings hurt also.A rhetorical question can be a stupid question if it doesn't continue a meaningful conversation.Any question that can be misconstrued as racist/sexist (including generalized questions that refer to an entire race/gender as a whole), or discriminating in any way.Incomplete questions that are vague or don't have enough description to warrant a concise answer. There are plenty of questions on Quora that fall into this category.I'm sure that this is a short list but I feel that it encompasses most types of stupid questions.

Is there such a thing as a stupid or a dumb question?

Sure there are. Just look at these:What star sign is most compatible with Leo?Why are Scorpios generally seen as evil?Am I the only one who DOESN'T hate Phantom Menace? Can the Moslem Allah ever become the President of the United States? Why do people like dogs? Why do people believe Darwin? Why do people eat pigs? Don't they find it disgusting? Muslims never eat pork. In fact, they consider pigs to be disgusting, and don't even touch pigs, and neither do a majority of Indians. Are two virgos compatible? What are basic traits of people born on No 8 in numerology? Why do the police take your details?Does the fact that there were survivors refute the holocaust?Who made sexual intercourse with Adele? Why did the world wars take place?I can go on for a pretty long time, but the point being here that there are many questions, of which the questions here on this website are but a subset, that are just plain stupid.Consider this one for example: ‘Why do people eat pigs?’ - you’re extremely narrow-minded if you can’t even comprehend the idea of people wanting to eat pigs. It doesn’t take much imagination to come up with a reason within 10 seconds why people want to eat pig. It’s a stupid question. Not knowing the answer doesn’t make it a good question - that’s wishful illogical thinking, even if you’re in a culture that frowns upon eating pigs.Yes, there are stupid and dumb questions. But they are a product of inexcusable ignorance.

Was it Albert Einstein that quoted "there is no such thing as a stupid question"? If so, then why do some Quora experts reply in a negative way and make my questions seem stupid?

Look around …We are drowning in stupid questions. The saying, "there is no such thing as a stupid question" needs to be re-written to say…No sincerely asked question should be regarded as stupid.About your questions.I looked at your profile and it shows no question asked, but the edits log shows you have… so it is strange they don’t show in the questions log.https://www.quora.com/profile/Cr...Your questions are NOT stupid. If you are getting answers that make them out to be stupid, just……accept that the world is infested with assholes, and Quora has its fair share.…accept that there are people with problems that they are battling and your question may trigger an adverse reaction.…accept that even the best people can have off days and lash out. And, getting back to my opening point - We are drowning in stupid questions.Sometimes, the number of really stupid questions we see gets to be too much and influences answers to question that are not stupid.“Was it Albert Einstein that quoted "there is no such thing as a stupid question"? If so, then why do some Quora experts reply in a negative way and make my questions seem stupid?”

Are Canadians smart? Is this a stupid question?

I would say that based on your update that Yes, Canadians are much smarter than their American counterparts. Based on how you worded the update, yes, this question is stupid.

My brother asks really stupid questions?

My older brother is one of those people who asks a million questions a day. & they aren't really questions, they're just rethorical statements that you HAVE to response to..
I guess the best example is like today I gave my sister a digital camera and he comes up and goes "is that a digital camera?" (While I was in the middle of talking to my sister) then he said it again but louder with an irritated tone in his voice. & I literally have to stop my conversation say yes it's a ******* digital camera just so he won't get mad. Even though he can clearly see it's a digital camera.
Or say if I'm sitting and eating a sandwich he'll come in and say "are you eating a sandwich?" and I have to say yes I'm eating a sandwich. Even though again he can clearly see that I'm eating a sandwich...If I just nod my head or don't answer he'll get mad and say I'm acting like a *****..

Anyway I know everyone does that every once in a while but he does it ALL the time and it gets annoying when you're bombarded with dumb questions all day everyday.
I don't know what to say to get him to understand that his dumb questions annoy me without his feelings getting hurt or it turning into an arguement..
Am I being a ***** ?
What do you think ?

There is a saying that says, "There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers". Is this true, because I think there are stupid questions, depending on the situation?

Sayings like this are not about truth, but about a certain idea, a certain principle. The idea here is something like it's not a shame not to know something and express that, with the goal the get knowledge. Questions (testifying your 'ignorance') will make your smarter, and show you want to get so. They are the way to knowledge and show you think about that. That doesn't mean every question shows you do. It's no garantuee. And there are cultures in which asking questions is socially incorrect. So the saying is a encouragement in a society that puts knowledge and improvement in high regard, and everybody is allowed to do so. As a general principle.
