Is drinking 2 or 3 cups of coffee a day unhealthy?

While I'm not a doctor, I would say common sence says that as long as you're drinking other fluids (especially water) during the day, your 2 or 3 cups shouldn't really hurt you. The water is the key though as coffee sucks all the water out of your system. And your body needs to be replenished.

Is the caramel coloring found in soft drinks unhealthy?

All we really know is that if you give mice a shit ton of caramel coloring they’re more likely to develop cancer. However, these tests were with massively more caramel coloring than any human is ever going to consume. There isn’t any evidence that it’s dangerous for you in reasonable quantities, and considering the large amounts of stuff in soda that definitely is terrible for you, I wouldn’t give it much worry.

Is drinking alcohol bad for your health?

That's not a legitimate reason to start drinking at all. There is research that shows a beer or two a day could be good for you, but overall it's not healthy.

I drink 7 to 8 liters of water daily. Is it unhealthy?

In order to replenish the body with enough water without overwhelming the cells, the Institute of Medicine determined the ideal amount is approximately 16 8-ounce cups (3.7 liters) for men and 11 8-ounce cups (2.7 liters) for women.Research shows drinking when not thirsty can impair concentration, rather than boost it, and separate evidence suggests that chemicals used for disinfection found in bottled water could be bad for your health.Drinking excessive amounts can also lead to loss of sleep as people have to get up in the night to go to the toilet, and other studies show it can even cause kidney damage, instead of preventing it.Taking on too much water can lead to a rare but potentially fatal condition called hyponatraemia, which sees the body’s salt levels drop and can lead to swelling of the brain.Human body has has got osmoreceptors which can detect the osmolarity of the body fluids. So, if the osmolarity of the body fluid increses i.e. water content of body decreases, receptors signal the thirst centre in the hypothalamus and the person feels thirsty and hence drinks water. So frankly suggesting, you just drink water when you are thirsty and remember the fact that we are not camels with humps.

Why are energy drinks bad for your health?

Neither. Despite being the target of misinformation campaigns and ignorance, energy drinks are just regular beverages. They consist of sugars, water, caffeine, and a few other ingredients. Nothing particularly unusual. While they are “empty calories”, there is no such thing as a good calorie or a bad calorie. If you need calories, then they work just fine. If you don’t, then you can end up gaining weight. Neither of those is good or bad until they start affecting your overall health. The caffeine in energy drinks seems like a lot, but it really isn’t any more than a few cups of coffee jammed into a single can (in fact, most cans often contain more than one serving, so when used by serving, they are even less impressive). The other ingredients, guarana, taurine, etc, have some effect in high doses, but unless you are drinking red bull by the gallon, the amount in a can isn't enough to have any effect on most people.Really, energy drinks aren’t anything that you don’t get from regular old soda, they are just better marketed (the same way that mountain dew was in the 90’s). If you have a caffeine sensitivity, stay away from them, just like you would stay away from espresso. If you are diabetic, go with the sugar free ones. If you are overly concerned, see a doctor, or just don’t drink them. Other than that, they probably won’t hurt you.
