Is This Garage Band Song I Made Good

Can i Sell a Song i Made in garageband?

Yes you can sell it! If you only use loops that came with GarageBand, then Apple gives you permission to make money off of any song created. Here is proof straight from Apple:

However, if you imported loops into GarageBand from the Internet, then it's up to you to document that those loops are indeed free. Here's a site where you can download free loops for GarageBand. You can then sell songs you make without paying a fee to anyone.

How do you save a GarageBand song as mp3??

When you are in GarageBand, you can export directly to iTunes and you can choose to save it as an mp3.

I'm not on my Mac right now, but when you have the project open, there is an "Export To iTunes" option under one of the dropdown menus. Sorry I can't give more direct help, but I"m at work and we use PC's :)

Can you take a song you made on Garageband and mix it on Logic?

Absolutely, and I do it regularly. I’m not at my Mac currently but as I recall, you open Logic and under File Open look for your Garageband songs. When you save it, it will be saved as a Logic project as well.As I find Garageband much easier to record with I often start projects this way and end up in Logic as its tools are much more robust.

Can you copyright a song made in Garageband?

Garage Band allows you to record totally original works but also allows you to take preprogrammed musical patterns, sounds and loops to develop “songs” electronically. If you don’t add any original components (record your own voice, play an instrument, etc.) and entirely rely on the programmed musical patterns, the copyrightable component becomes a somewhat gray area. Are you creating something original? Or are you using something already created and repeating it? The more complex you make it, the more chance of creating something original. The more you add your own elements (voice, your own instruments, etc.) the more the chance of creating something original. But, you must be creating something original in order to claim a copyright.

My song wont show up on garage band?

You can just list all of your itunes songs on garage band. A playlist doesn't always mean something to any program except for your itunes and ipod and such. You need to look for the song within the artist's other songs, or, if that is the only song by a person you have, then it will be by itself. Within the media browser on garage band, just leave the cursor on itunes, the original folder, and search for the file that way. Hope this helps. I always find it a good idea to copy a song from itunes to my desktop in itunes before i screw around with it in garage band, that way nothing can get lost. I lost a song from the itunes file once by trying to drag it to the work area in garage band....

Why are my GarageBand songs so quiet?

Never mind,I actually figured it out after some Google detective work. The answer is so ridiculously simple and so ridiculously stupid! In GarageBand>preferences there's a box automatically checked “on” that says “export at maximum loudness”. Check this box “off” and it will then export the song at a much louder(normal)volume! It's like ‘opposite world’. Anyway….i then had to lower the ‘master track’volumes of each song to avoid excess distortion but now I'm good to go!

Anyone know how to make a good bass drop on garage band?

grab the note in the editor and pull it to where you like it. If you played it live it could still be tied to the last note. Just move it up or down until it's awesome.

Garageband songs super quiet?

HI! Since no one answered, can I get the 10 points? LOL! Please!!! Thanks!

Is it legal to publish GarageBand songs for money?

As everyone else has said here, including an Apple engineer, YES! You can publish your original song using the loops provided royalty free by Apple in GarageBand.Personal example: we were working on a video to post on our client's website. We were using footage we shot ourselves and had zero budget to aquire music for a bed. Still, it needed music and we were scouring the music libraries we had accounts with trying to find some that worked. I dug up a few that had the tempo the creative director wanted but they didn't have the right feel. He kept trying to explain to me the drama he wanted in the track, then he would turn to the producer and they would discuss where they were going to find the money to buy a track.A lightbulb went off in my head. I had been playing with GarageBand a bit and suddenly I felt like I knew the loops I needed to make the track the CD was talking about. I pitched my idea to them and they agreed to give me a green light to put it together. They went to lunch and I went to work.By the time they got back I had a listenable track that was 90%+ of what they wanted. A little tweaking and we were about 95%+. And since I only used the loops Apple supplied with GarageBand it was 100% free.I could tell the CD wanted it to be a little… more grand, perhaps? But it was close enough for this project and the producer was thrilled at the price. He didn't even have to do any paperwork. I got credit as camera operator, editor, and composer and the spot was put on our client's website. And it didn't cost us a dime beyond buying the software. No royalties, no copyright issues, no problems.

Should I use GarageBand or Ableton Live to produce songs?

It is perfectly possible to produce an entire album on Garageband (like the band The Bravery for example), but eventually you might find yourself hitting a wall in terms of what the software allows you to do.If you’re new to music production, I would try Garageband until you’re familiar with the concepts and you feel you need more creative options, then try Ableton. But if you want to dive in at the deep end, I can think of no better piece of software for producing songs than Ableton, in my humble opinion (although there is FL Studio, Reason, Logic, ProTools etc). Both Garageband and Ableton are good for pop music, you can make whatever style you can think of, but since Garageband is aimed more at beginners, it will ‘hold your hand’ a bit more so I find whilst you might not have total freedom with what you create, you can still do a lot with it!
