Is This Knife Legal In San Francisco Ca

Can I carry a knife into AT&T Park in San Francisco?

At that hour, the traffic might be dreadful on 101. Take 280 alternatively. Or, as acknowledged in earlier posts, take CalTrain. And are you asking about avenue parking in Palo Alto or SF? Relying where you work, there is also some in PA. In SF, avenue parking is horrendous.

I did what you should have done and googled this question. In California, any conventional (non switch blade-like) folding knife is legal to carry, concealed or visible.Longer, fixed blade knives are legal to carry visible in a sheath but are illegal to conceal.Switch blades and other automatic opening knives are illegal to carry and can’t be sold or given away. I guess you can own one but you can’t carry it around.Legal knives may not be permitted in all places, but they would generally have a no weapons notice on the door.

Yes (I prefer pepper foam, 10% OC, but it requires better aim than pepper spray.  It allows you to retain your vision in case you need to escalate force beyond the pepper spray).Tasers are also legal.  I sort of prefer the taser to pepper spray, but it is larger.  (every taser I have seen is actually larger than my .38).  (I dislike "stun guns", outside of an environment like a mental hospital; too hard to use)Both are considered the same as physically striking someone in terms of escalation of force.Combat flashlights (like the surefire or fenix 120 lumen LED flashlights) are a great tool as well -- you end up using the flashlight for a lot of things if you have it, plus it is a good blinding/disorientation device if attacked.I personally wouldn't rely on non-lethal defense only; at absolute minimum, nonlethal plus a knife.  (folding knifes are legal, fixed blades beyond a certain and somewhat vague length are not).ASP batons are actually very useful in self defense, probably more so than a knife (and the only single tool I'd ever depend upon), but they are a FELONY in CA.A concealed, loaded handgun is two misdemeanors in California, if it is lawfully owned and you are not a gang member, and generally they will only prosecute one of the two.  It is illegal, but a misdemeanor is relatively mild, and thus people call that "California carry".  In most states it would be a felony.  In most states you can get a concealed carry permit with a moderate level of work (maybe an 8-16 hour class, tops), whereas in CA you have to live in certain rural counties.I would not carry any of the above, with the exception of a flashlight, without some experience in their use (either a class, or testing; a class is better)

San Francisco Open Carry Laws for Swords?

The only state-wide statute prohibiting the possession of knives by length is Penal Code section 653k, which prohibits the possession of switchblades with a blade over 2 inches in length. I don't know where the 4 inch idea is coming from.

The only other state-wide statute involving the possession of knives is Penal Code section 12020, which prohibits the concealed carrying of dirks or daggers (and under California law, almost any pointy thing, including knitting needles, can be a dirk or dagger). So the sword is probably a dirk or dagger, but is probably not concealed. Section 12020 specifically exempts knives carried openly in a sheath worn on the belt, and my guess is that would apply to a sword carried openly in a scabbard or other sheath on the back.

I cannot find any San Francisco ordinance generally prohibiting the open carrying of weapons (although many jurisdictions have such laws). You might look around for yourself:

Legal pocket knife blade limit in Santa Clara County, California?

Well, what you think you know is wrong. Neither San Francisco nor San Mateo prohibits possession of a knife of any kind. Both counties have ordinances making it illegal to LOITER while in possession of knife with a blade longer than 3". Loitering in California means remaining in a place with the intent to commit a crime as the opportunity arises. No loitering, no knife offense.

That said, I can find no Santa Clara County regulation concerning knives, though it does have its own rules about loitering, but remember each city can enact its own laws as well. State law does not generally prohibit the concealed carrying of a folded knife which is not a switchblade, though it would be illegal in some places (school grounds, government buildings, etc.).

What is the legal age to buy a knife in California?

Well I went to a Wal-Mart and the sign said "Must be at least 16 to purchase" so I asked my friend how old you have to be to buy a knife in California and he said there was no age limit but a store can decide how old whether that is 16, 18 or 21. Is this true or is there a age limit of how old you have to be to buy a knife in California? Thanks in advance.

According to CT Law it is legal to carry a knife with a blade less than four inches provided it is not a switchblade or dirk knife. I can’t find any special provisions for use in self defense or carrying by a minor.KNIVESHaving said that just because it is legal doesn’t mean it wont invite the concern or suspicion of law enforcement. Likewise if you use a knife in self defense you may find yourself in the position of having to prove in court that it really was self defense. Given that a knife is a potentially deadly weapon you would most likely need to prove that your life was in danger when you used the knife. If the court is not convinced you could be charged with a number of crimes for the use of the knife including:-For brandishing the knife you could be charged with threatening-For actually stabbing someone you could be charged with assault with a deadly weapon-If you kill someone you could be charged with manslaughter or murder. For these reasons it’s much wiser to carry mace for self defense as mace is not deadly under any normal circumstances. If you use it inappropriately the worst you may be charged with is illegal use of a chemical agent.

Balisong(butterfly knife) legal questions?

Like anyone watching agent movies, played team fortress of just have a friend who's got one I too wonder about the ways to get ahold of the balisong knife, but I figured out that it's illegal way more then one please. So my question is, where is this tool legal and easy to buy? And if you know the average price on this thing I'd be happy to hear what you have to say?

You are asking two questions. To the first,it just may be illegal to sell a knife to.a minor. You also ask if you need a jungle knife to go camping.Answer NO!.Why not buy or have your parents buy a boy scout style knife? They have worked well for camping for well over a century. I have carried mine for over forty years and have found it perfectly suited for most outdoor uses. A fixed blade is not really necessary.
