How long can a refrigerated sandwich last outside in room temperature?
There are two critical factors:The first critical factor is freshness. If the ham is already slightly old then you are halfway there. If it is fresh ham then you have a better chance at survival. Deli sliced ham can have more bacteria on it. That's the issue. The second critical factor is temperature (see Food Temperature). This then means that there are two influencers that need to be considered:What is the temperature? If it is winter then you have a lower risk, but if it is summer then you have a bigger issue.Will the messenger bag be sitting in the sun, in which case the sandwich temperature will be even warmer.As a personal anecdote, I grew up in a city where it could reach 40°C (100°F) regularly in summer. I could make a sandwich in the morning and it was fine, but by 1pm it was history. Our school bags were often left outside in the sun and it is no wonder.If it is a warm day, and the bag is going to be outside, then consider putting an ice-brick in it. It's a quick and simple remedy that will minimise the risk.
Is it true that you can't eat lunch meat during pregnancy?
My husband and I went to Subway and I got a turkey sub and couple of my friends were like OHH NOOO you are NOT suppose to eat lunch meat during pregnancy and that it can cause problems during pregnancy for the mom and baby and the baby could have problems and so on. I was SO confused, if it was that important wouldn't my Ob give me a heads up on that? I remember when we lived in Georgia during my 1st pregnancy I had huge cravings for Blimpies Subs and always got the Blimpie Best which is full of lunch meat and ate that all the time during my pregnancy and there was this lady in front of me and overheard what I ordered and said are you sure it's okay to eat lunchmeat when your pregnant? I was like ummm yeeah, lol. Had NO clue. But my son turned out just fine and so was I. So what's up with the lunch meat. Are we suppose to eat it or not. Wait we can eat it, BUT we have to put it in the mircrowave and make sure it's steaming 1st in order to eat it... So what my friends say.
Is it true that warming up anything with mayonaise on it can kill you?
no is not true... the only way you could get food poising from something with mayo is when it being siting out of the freeze for a day or two, then is not save to eat... remember mayo is make with milk and egg therefor it have to keep under cool temperature, but yes you could warm up something with mayo in it as long as it was in the freeze and not siting out.

Well Im 7 weeks pregnant and I want to eat right. I am originally not a "health" food eater, I kinda just eat whatever I want and stay a good size. What foods do yall eat? I read eating things with folic acids, protein, and such. Also what is not good to eat during pregnancy? I want to give the baby the best nutrition possible. Please help! A list of what you ate/eat would be great!!
Is the chicken safe to cook?
YOu need to be careful with chicken especially. I t can go bad and you can get salmonella food poisoning. If it had been out in the sink with cold water for 7 hours and your house isn't like an oven it could be good but if it has a smell and you will know the smell of bad chicken if you smell it then don't use it. If unsure then don't use it and throw it away. I wouldn't chance it with chicken especially in the summertime as the heat can make food spoil much faster than in cooler temperatures.
I'm pregnant and I know we can't eat deli meat. But can I have turkey from D'Angelos?
some of the previous posters are correct with heating it up... But not all deli meat is a no go... AS long as you are not eating PROCESSED lunch meats, d'angelos doesnt have processed meat, you will be just fine... Just remember no processed lunch meats, like hot dogs, bologna and any ham or turkey that is basically in the same packaging as bologna.. Ask them just to make sure they are not processed/additive meats and you will be fine eating it cold if you want.
Are hot dogs ok to eat cold?
It is not only okay, but the only way to truly eat Oscar Meyer hot dogs. As long as the hotdogs aren't old they are fine. If you're really worried, smell them first, if they don't smell normal, cook them thoroughly before eating or just throw them away.
