Is This Waist Measurement Normal

Normal waist size for women?

I think the average size of women is around size 12 pants. I'm not sure if that's 36...but I believe it's around there. I don't think there's such thing as "normal" anymore. There's too many different sizes and shapes of women in the world....so if you feel comfortable and happy with yourself, who cares that size your pants are or what number the scale says. Just smile! That's what matters the most! Being happy with who you are and showing it to the world.

EDIT: I just measured...my "waist" (above the belly button) is about 37". My hips (widest part in my butt/thighs) is about 45". I wear a size 15/16 jeans in women. My boyfriend has a 32" waist and is about 40lbs lighter than me. We're perfectly find with our size/weight differences. And I'm 5'9" tall, he's 5'10" tall. So we're baiscally the same height. There's millions of people in the world like us and we don't think anything of it. All we care is that we love each other.

What is the average waist and hip measurements for a teen ages 13-16?

Some people say that "ideally" the waist measurement should be 10 inches less than the hip measurement. Your waist measurement is 8 inches less than your hip measurement, so you're pretty close to the "ideal".

What is the measurements of body like waist, thighs arms, legs for a normal size girl?

Oh honey. There is no “normal size girl”. Human beings come in a huge range of shapes and sizes and colors and ability levels. Normal for you is what you need to look for. Are you comfortable in your body? Do you feel a lot of pain? Do you feel weak or strong in your muscles and joints? can you get things done that you need to get done?I hear in your question an echo of how I used to get bullied as a child because I was weird whatever that meant or not sporty or I liked books and people would call me names for that. If you're worried about being normal, please keep this in mind: you're normal for you! Your body works for you.Unfortunately, there are no measurements that will tell us that we are fine, accepted by Society, or loved. We have to work hard to find those things for ourselves.

Why are jeans measured for waist size yet are worn on the hip?

Look at the rise! Is it about seven inches or slightly longer? If it is then the pants are meant to be worn on the hip. The real human waist is between the lower part of the rib cage and the upper part of the hips. It is difficult to find pants that actually fit a waist except in womens fashions and in men’s bespoke suiting. We have lost sight of where our waist is located.Pants that fit on the waist have much more fabric to them, longer flies (zippers) and more room in the crotch. If you want jeans that fit the waist they can be found, they are generally working men’s jeans or ladies high fashion high waisted jeans.I hate hipsters and pants that don’t fit my waist, they fall down all the time and are responsible for the “Pants falling down” fashion of some youth. Also tight pants around the crotch are a major source of discomfort from various infections. Be wise don’t choke your genitals, keep them healthy and you keep yourself healthy. So the answer to jeans that fit on your waist is to measure your hips and then choose a waist size that fits your hips. It seems the manufacturers wont help out here so ignore the markings that say waist and if the pants do have a seven inch rise then they are not more than hipsters.

I measured my waist to get a size for suit trousers and I got 42" but I wear 34 jeans, what have I done wrong?

Joe, you gained weight, Son. Just joking! If I were you, I would be answering myself. Okay, I’ll get serious. You may not want to buy trousers that fit as tight as your jeans, assuming you wear your jeans fairly tight. One reason is, rather, the reasons being that the looser fit looks dressier, & you want to comfortably be able to tuck in your shirt whether your pants are on or being put on. Another smart reason to have looser fitting trousers is in case you want to wear Button Suspenders (suspenders that require them to be fitted by attaching them to buttons sewn inside the pants’ waist. I personally prefer Button Suspenders rather than Clip Suspenders. Forget about the weird 42″ measurement you came up with. That’s 8 sizes larger which is highly, HIGHLY unlikely. Now, say you go to a Men’s Shop, like Men’s Wearhouse, Brooke Brothers’, etc., or a Department Store, like Macy’s, Dillards, or Barnes & Nobles (turn around and walk out of B & N cause that’s a Book Store, as you know), when you pick out the suit you like, try the trousers on to get the fit you desire. Keep in mind that alot of manufactures believe that,”Six-Pk Joe,” likes to feel slim so they, by practice, lable their trousers one size smaller than the actual size so, a 34″ is actually a 35″ waist. If they or anyone tells you that that is NOT true, they are lying or are ignorantly wrong. You may as well try a pair of 35″ size 1st anyway because the cuffs (length) have to be tailored (measurements & alterations are always necessary, unless you buy Seperates-A Coat & Trousers bought seperately). Never buy a Tailor-Made Suit as your 1st Suit unless you’re very wealthy. Off the Rack is a better choice for buying ANY & ALL SUITS AND TROUSERS!!! Suits & Trousers can be bought On-Line but you can’t try them on SO Fair Warning! If you’re trifty there are many great Thrift Stores that have nice $500.00 Suits for as little as $15-$30.00 especially if you’re a,”Short People,” person because young people that are growing fast maybe wear a suit 2 or 3 times and off to the thrift store their mother donates them. Remember that women like a gentleman that is Dapper(Neat) & a Well-Dressed Man.

Is it normal for waist size to increase and decrease in a day?

I'm 16, male. 5'6" and 116 pounds. I'm not really sure of my waist size, i exercise alot, run 6-10 miles everyday, but i also eat alot, maybe 3000 calories, my waist size on an empty stomach is 27 inches, but after eating alot it goes upto 29 or 30. Is that normal?

What is the ideal waist size for a 5'8″ man?

I hate these kinds of questions… the world IDEAL is subjective. What may feel ideal to you, maybe be different for someone else. I know body image is huge, and it effects our confidence and self-esteem, but I think this starts with loving who you are and motivating yourself to do and be better. That being said, IDEAL in todays world is around 32 inches for your height. However, everyones body is different and this would vary for you. I’ll give you an example, me and my friend are both fairly fit individuals and have done pretty much the same workouts and followed the same meal plans. Our bodies and genetics and metabolism are slightly different and although we are both fit, our measurements differ. What I’d recommend for you, is to just start watching what you eat and follow a good plan to achieve a waist that you will be happy with.Cheers Bro!

What is considered as a normal waist size for a man and a woman?

If you are a short, fat person you are probably going to prefer using the blanket statement that waist size should be less than 102 cms (40 inches) for a man and 88 cms (34.5 inches) for a woman. On the other hand, if you are tall, you are probably going to wonder why a guy a foot shorter than you can have the same waist size as you!?Then there is the Japanese study that found Japanese men experience increased health risks at just 33.5 inches. So most health organizations seem to agree that obesity starts when the waist exceeds half the height, but how much less does it need to be? For most men a waist more than around 45% of height is probably the best indicator of overweight, and 39% for women. The male ideal waist size is usually described like an inverted pyramid with broad shoulders compared to the small waist. In other words, as long as the upper body is bigger, muscular looking, or appears much larger than the waist, even if the waist is bulging out a bit, it is near ideal for men.The female ideal is typically described as an hourglass waist with a waist-to-hip ratio of about 70%. When her waist exceeds 80% of her hips she can be seen as out of shape, or overweight.
