Is Tijuana A Good Representation Of Mexico I Wanna Go From Los Angeles

Is Tijuana a good representation of Mexico? I wanna go from Los Angeles?

Why don't you take the train from LA to the station in San Diego. From there take the Trolley to the border. Have a blast . . .

Are us Mexicans turning the US into a 3rd world nation?

Economist Paul Roberts wrote on January 21, 2003, "Will America become a Third World country in 20 years?" In the Christian Science Monitor, December 11, 2003, "But as the US economy shifted toward service jobs, factory jobs have steadily lost-in fact in just the past 39 months, some 2.8 million jobs vanished."

Where are they going? China. India. Mexico. Deep into the Third World. "You Americans have lived an artificially high standard of living for a long time," a man working one our jobs outsourced to India wrote me. "It's time you Americans drop to the poverty levels of the rest of the Third World."

American jobs are offshored, insourced and outsourced at such blinding speed that millions of American citizens stand in unemployment lines every morning while the rest of us go to work, that is, if we still have jobs.

America's middle class is being dismantled by jobs exported to cheap-labor Third World countries. CEOs and corporations that enjoy the luxuries of America's hard won freedom care not a tinker's dam whether you have a job or not-or a living wage. But the American man and woman on the street--the ones with two kids, a mortgage and bills coming out of their ears--stand powerless as their jobs vanish.

We Mexicans have tons of kids and break many laws and overall make the US even more poor. If we become majority (which we will, with other minorities) do you think America will be finished?

Is it to dangerous to go to Mexico?

The boarder towns are a problem but I live in Mexico and I follow the news and the American Embassy reports. The drug cartels are not targeting tourists and the rumors you hear and get started here on the internet are just that it is hard to find official reports of the stories I read or hear on the web or the Yahoo Answers. But I live in Mexico and I am here to tell you you will be safe if you follow common sense and not flash your cash, wear fancy jewelry or go looking for trouble.
You often hear something like “200 Americans were killed in Mexico in the past four years. But if you really look into those numbers, as the Houston Chronicle did, you will find that all but 70 of those victims were either criminals or were part of a drug buy gone bad. So around 70 completely innocent tourists died—out of 58 million visitors over that time period. About as many foreign tourists died in the US over that same time period.
That equates to 1 in 842,857, or 0.0000012 percent. To put that in perspective, those odds lie somewhere between your chance of dying in an airplane crash (1 in 659,779) or by being killed by flesh-eating bacteria (1 in 1,252,488).
But it gets even better. Most of the slain Americans were killed in just three cities: the border towns Tijuana, Ciudad Juarez and Nuevo Laredo. Not one tourist was killed involved in the drug war, unless he or she was looking or participating in the sale or purchase of illegal drugs. The remaining 70 who died 43 were killed in auto accidents 16 were killed in water related accidents 1 was killed by shark attack and the rest from foul play.
Driving during the day staying on well traveled highways and not lingering along the boarder is your best advice.
LA Times reports a tourist is 26 times safer in Mexico than in the US tourist towns. Yes 26 times safer!

What are people escaping when they cross the US-Mexico Border(from mexico)?

It depends on the immigrant. But most are not necessarily escaping anything as much as they are actually seeking something else.

It can be said they are trying to escape poverty and low economic opportunity, but another way to look at things is to say they seek better conditions to earn money. After all, many immigrants still live relatively poor, however it's often better than what they had in Mexico. Many of them send money back to Mexico to help support their spouse, children, or other family members.

Sometimes people cross because they have family in the United States they want to be with. Having a family split up with different members settling in both countries is becoming more common. In these cases a person is escaping the longing for family members.

Of course you do have those who are crossing with no intentions of doing anything good, but these crossers represent a minority, even if the media makes us believe all immigrants are like this.

There's more categories of crossers, and there's subcategories in each category of course, but the first two I mentioned are the most common. There are also people who cross illegally don't plan to remain in the United States. They return to Mexico on their own at some point.

If anyone doesn't believe me when I say the immigrants who cross intending no good are only a minority of crossers, explain to me why the crime rate has consistently gone DOWN during periods where immigration increases? Also explain why major cities with high immigrant populations (El Paso, San Diego, Los Angeles, Miami, etc.) don't explode with crime above and beyond other cities? The answer is because immigrants aren't the wild, crazy criminals some people here want to pretend they are.

Do you think that African-Americans and Latinos will ever get along?

Yes

We get along in NYC.....the only places African Americans & Latinos dont get along is in places like California & Texas.

Anger over illegal immigration?

I have developed a good deal of anger over illegal immigration. I would like you to give me your opinion as to the validly of my anger.

Am I way off base? If I am, then tell me why you think so!

Please back up your opinion and ideas! If not, than please simply do not answer.

This is where I a large part of my anger over illegal immigration comes from.

It is my theory that there are many people who have lived in an area that accepts as normal a lifestyle that condones illegal activity. In these areas drug cartels and government corruption are an accepted part of life.

It is human nature to want a better lifestyle and many people will relocate to get one. This has been occurring for hundreds of years. People from areas of massive crime and corruption will also want to leave to find a better life. Some of these people will themselves often have little or no respect for the laws of any government. These same people will often go to other countries illegally to live. They see no problem with breaking immigration laws because breaking the law is an accepted activity in the society they come from.

This leaves us in America with a large group of illegal aliens with little or not respect for the laws of our country.

So why should you and I accept these people into out country?

Please understand me, I have no problem with immigration. I just have a problem with doing it illegally.
