There are many movies which become a culture classic but failed upon release. I will tell about some of the movies and we will get to the point I am talking about.1.Sholay :This Indo-Western flavored movie set in village “Ramgarh” is a must watch. Probably the best western genre movie in Bollywood and Hollywood.This movie failed to garner viewers in first two weeks and picked up in third week. When the movie was released, people at that time didn’t know about western genre.Reason: The first Indian movie which showed a lot of violence. People not ready for it.2. Mera Naam Joker:This movie showcasing life of a boy who aspires to be a joker against her Mother wish and how his romantic entanglement with three women in three different stages of life.This movie is a pure bliss and an emotional journey. The first movie which had two intervals. This movie also tanked.Reason: People at that time not matured to handle such content.3. The shashwasnk redemption:This movie captures your imagination. Life of prisnors and how Andy helps the day to day prisoners works and escape at the end.This movie also tanked.One of the reason for the movies to flop were that they were way ahead of their time. People were not able to adopt to the movies.You can relate it today by showing Inception in villages across India. It will defiantly flop.Slowly and steadily as people grow up and word of mouth the movies garner viewership and becomes a cult classic.
