I'm so disappointed in myself. I got myself in a situation where I had sex with a guy & after a short time of dating (less than a month) I break it off because he called me out of my name & wasn't treating me right. We than started exchangin text messages where He started threatening me & my family's life. After a day of those threats I stopped responding & started to ignore him, thats when he told me he filmed when him & I had sex both times so he has two tapes. I have all the texts still with the threats. I even tried to tell him I lied about my age & that I was underaged but he just doesn't care. I told him I'm leaving town to go back to florida & begged him to leave me alone. But he says he wants to see me & have sex with me or have dinner with me one more time or else he'll put the tapes with my name, phone number & address all over the internet, send a copy to my mom & make a facebook page & send it to everyone in my home town. I really need help. He's making my life a living hell, I'm stressed, can't focus at work, & I've had 3 anxiety attacks. I just want it to end. I live in the state of Georgia close to atlanta, I'm 21, & don't know how far the law goes. I need some advice on how to go to the law. I don't know his last name, but I know his occupation and his cell number. please help.
Why don't most engineers use a title like "Er." to their names?
Just graduating in an engineering discipline doesnt make one engineer just like graduating with science doesnt make one scientist. But completion of MBBS makes you a doctor or completion of LLB makes you an advocate or completion of B.Arch makes one architect. Have you ever wondered why?The nature of job is the main reason: while in case of doctors, advocates and architects, there is a one to one communication with and service to the client for most of the cases, this is mostly nature of self-employment and that’s why they do “practice” . And to understand whether the individual is capable enough to provide that is maintained by licensing, registration number etc. However most commerce or science or engineering grads work in group environments- in companies, in organizations which is already certified. There is no requirement of personal certification. That’s why they just do not use “Er.” or such title before them.However if you are an engineering consultant and you have your independent consultancy tested and licensed/registered, you may add Consultant engineer before your name.Secondly,there is another trend in professional studies to use title received through recognition. If you are a member of any engineering society or body and you contribute and continuously learn and grow your expertise with them, you can use Associate Member/ Member of such engineering institution along with your name e.g. AMIMechE , If you have proven track record and experience of quality engineering expertise, you may register at such society and use Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer awarded by them.So, I dont find using “Er.” in any way logical or professional.
Can I press charges on someone for slandering me on Facebook?
Depending on where you live, you could press harassment charges placed against her. You also can get a cease and desist order to have her remove this. Get a lawyer to assist you with a restraining order/cease and dismiss order and then sue the crap out of her for slander if you can. I would be more worried about what lies ahead. She is obviously a bitter woman who needs to stop now or she will keep it up until she ruins your marriage. Google Betty Broderick, a middle age woman whose husband dumped her for a younger woman. She murdered both of them and almost walked. These people don't get better, they get more bitter. I hope your future husband is supportive of you and willing to assist you in all of the above. If he is not, I would re-evaluate the relationship.

My father's name is in short form in 10th 12th & BE degree but full form in caste & domicile certificate. What should I do if there is a problem?
In a situation like this you need to understand the following things.In all the official records and for all practical purposes, your father's name shall be considered to be the name which is written on the 10th and 12th certificates.You could change the name in 10th and 12th certificate within two years of getting the certificate.If such a time has expired, you need to file a civil suit in a court asking for a direction to the board to change the name in the 10th or 12th certificate.So now coming back to your issue. Ordinarily if a person is faced with such a situation, an affidavit to this effect should suffice. But if there are special circumstances, you may need to file a civil suit in the court.Other thing I could suggest you is that you should try to get your caste/domicile certificate corrected with the name in short form. I don't think it will be too difficult a thing to do. Who can use 'Er.' before their name in India?
An Er. title is supposed to be used only by the Chartered engineers (C.Eng) who have received a professional certification from the Institution of engineers(India) or by any engineering graduate who has been professionally certified by the Institution of Engineers..As it is, the trend is very widely adopted in India that every Tom, Dick and Harry who has graduated from an engineering college/university thinks they can use the title Er. at their whim and fancy..but the truth is an individual needs to be professionally certified based on the eligibility criteria set out by the IE(India). Just an engineering graduate degree does not qualify one to use the title Er. It's just a deluded presumption that the whole society has been living upon since decades now.
Will a dismissed misdemeanor and expunged arrest show up on my background check?
The short answer is no. BUT, if there were any mug shots or newspaper stories posted about you online, or if your neighbors talked about your arrest on FB, blogs or community forums, it will exist there forever. Google your name and see if anything pops up. If not, you are most likely in the clear. A lot of companies don't use background check companies anymore because it is easier and cheaper to check registries and various search engines themselves. As sex, mental health, gun, domestic abuse and animal abuse registries begin popping up all over the country, it will be easier to get snagged in one of those regardless of expungement.
