Junior Year Schedule 5 Ap Courses . Opinions

AP classes in Junior year?

Im really terrified of taking AP classes in my upcoming Junior year in high school. I have half a mind to give up all my ap and honors classes and just do regular classes until i graduate. Up until now, all of the high school classes I've been taking have been honors courses. I had a 3.7 gpa in freshman year, and a 3.4 gpa for sophomore year. my cumulative gpa is currently 3.5. I had a really hard sophomore year (not curriculum wise), and i just want to take it easy for my remaining high school years. i've always been considered a good student, so everyone, including me, expected me to be one of those kids with a 4.0 gpa and in all the hardest classes. i want to finish high school with a 3.7 - 3.8 total gpa, so considering my current 3.5 gpa, i have to ace most of my courses. the thing is i know i can do that if i pursue regular classes. I've never taken an ap class before, but i did take a pre-ap class my sophomore year. i got mainly a "B" in that class. for juinior year, i signed up for 3 ap classes: ap us history, ap english, and ap physics. once the school year starts however, im going to switch out of ap physics into chemistry honors for sure. my ther courses besides electives are honors. I also recieved my first "C" sophomore year in Algebra 2/Trig honors. Its not a good enough grade to go on to the next level of math, so im retaking this class. retaking it will mean the grade i get next year will replace last year's grade. I really want to not stress my junior year.and i'm worried that 2 ap classes will bring down my gpa. my full schedule next year should be:

orchestra (regular)
japanese 3 (regular)
chemistry honors
algebra 2/trig honors
US history ap
English ap

is this schedule too rigorous and time consuming for someone who wants to take it easy? and should i consider replacing some tougher courses with regular ones?

Taking 5 AP classes during Junior year?

I am taking:
AP Calc AB
AP Physics
AP US History
Newspaper
AP Chemistry
AP English

I'm I taking too many AP classes? Will I have free time during the weekends?

4 ap classes junior year?

Don't stress yourself out too much. I'm a junior and I'm already stressing myself out with three APs and one Honors class:

1st: AP Calculus BC
2nd: Honors English 5/6 (my school doesn't have AP English)
3rd: AP US History
4th: Leadership (Junior Class Vice President)
5th: Spanish 3/4
6th: Jazz Band
7th: AP Physics

AP Euro is a bunch of reading. Granted, I crammed a lot, but I got a 4 on the exam. It's a really hard class.
APUSH is similar to AP Euro, but easier since it's a shorter time frame.
AP Chem is arguably the hardest AP class. Yipes.
Honors Pre-Calc isn't too hard. I had a really good teacher, so that made it easy for me.
AP Lang is similar to my Honors English class. It's not too hard if you could write an above average essay and if you could read (hopefully, you could read).
AP Physics is a pretty balanced class for me; it goes both hard and easy, but a lot of Calculus work. Honors Physics should be a lot easier.

In my view, I think you'll have at least two B's. Unless you're completely devoted to studying and decide not to spend too much time with your friends, I don't think you'll maintain a 4.00 unweighted GPA.

Should I take 7 APs Junior year?

My school only offers three AP courses, two of which they allow only seniors to take, but I'll be taking the other (AP Euro) next year as a Junior. I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to self-teach the others that I want to take (World History, Chem, Physics B, English Lit, Human Geo, & Stats) but do you think its just too much? I know of others who've done 8 APs in a year so I know it's attainable, but I don't want to overdo it.

Most of these correspond to classes that I'll be taking next year anyway. I'll be taking Chem & Physics, English H, Pre-Calc, French II, and US History H, in addition to AP Euro.

The tests that don't pertain to one of these courses (English Lit & Human Geo) are supposed to be some of the easiest APs, so I think I should be fine on those as well.

I'll also being doing Track, a couple clubs, & possibly starting working part-time. Self-teaching should be relatively easy for me, as I don't have to study much and do really well on tests, so I don't think I'll have to focus much on it until the couple months before the tests.

I'm interested to hear what others have to say though, so please do offer your opinions.

3 AP classes junior year? Read description?

I'm a high school junior and am currently taking all three of those classes; 4 pieces of advice: make sure the fourth class is relatively easy, i.e chemistry (in my case), pay attention and do homework in calculus, read notes in history because the information builds quickly, and the multiple choice (ridiculously hard questions) and timed writing grades in english will improve drastically over the year the AP graders gave some terrible essays 7's and 8's and i feel like a genius with my essays so I'm not worried. Now time to study for my Calculus AB exam which is tomorrow, good luck

Two aps junior year.. is that not enough?

It depends on what college or university you're applying to. Highly selective colleges generally want to see a rigorous class schedule while the mediocre ones are happy to even see one AP course.

It also depends on the high school itself. Some high schools do not have the teachers/budget to host a lot of AP classes while others are pulsing with AP electives due to alumni funding, etc. College admission offices do take these factors into account. If your school offers a lot of AP classes and you only take 1 or 2 during your entire 4 years in high school, it may weigh negatively against you (again, this applies if you're hoping to attend a competitive college).

However, your transcript seems to be pretty solid as of now (3 APs and 5 honors by the end of Junior Year).

Remember, college admission offices rather see 2 APs and a 90% average during your Junior year then 5 APs and a 70% average.

Someone once told me...

1 AP/year = normal schedule
2 APs/year = more difficult but manageable
3 APs/year = Prepare to stay up late at night
4 APs/year = Social Life --> Gone
5 APs/year = You're crazy

In the end, it all depends on the college you're applying to, your high school, and yourself.

Would taking AP Biology in my Junior year of High School be beneficial?

so I'm a sophomore in high school and I'm having trouble deciding which classes to choose next year. I took Hon Biology in Freshmen year and I am currently taking Hon Chemistry. I am interested in going into the medical field and I took the Bio subject SATs my freshmen year and recieved a 610. I would like to re-take the test again in hopes of getting a better score after I take AP Bio but I'm not sure if I should take it my Junior or Senior year and what would look better for colleges.

So far this was my initial plan for Junior year:
AP Statistics
Hon Adv. Math
AP US History II
AP English
Hon Physics
Hon Spanish 4
Orchestra

Senior Year:
AP Calculus BC
AP Biology
AP Psychology
AP English
AP Spanish
Fitness(graduation requirement) S1 / Teacher Assistant S2

Since in our school Biology AP takes up 2 blocks, should I take it my Junior year and quit Orchestra and leave either AP Statistics or Physics for my Senior year? And should I be worrying about making room to take AP Chemistry or AP Physics? That would require me to quit the orchestra however and I'm trying to keep orchestra in my schedule since I don't want to over stress my self from all my other AP/hon classes...or is that a bad idea?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated and thanks for the help.
