Last Orthodontics Appointment Before Brace

Is this the last Orthodontist Appointment for my braces?

Today, my ortho said that he estimates I will be getting my braces off in March which is next month. He said to his assistant that I would need to come back in 4 weeks to do "impressions". What does this mean? I never heard him say that before. He usually says "6 weeks to do wire change." Does this mean I am getting my braces off on my next appointment or do I still have a few more appointments to go?

Also, how do you know when is your last appointment? What do they do on the last few weeks of your braces? Today, they did a huge change to my braces. They cut off the ends of my wires, did tipping, put locks, changed my hooks, and put an elastic power chain on all of my upper teeth. Is this the last stage of my braces?

My first orthodontist appointment!!!?

you might have the braces on before the concert. first they will get the basics...that is x-rays, checking out for any cavities, or obstructed teeth. next, you get the unfortunate mouth mold. the mouth mold is a painless process that makes you wanna gag, or atleast thats what it did to me.what they do baisically is make a mold of your upper and lower teeth with this purple-ish gel that dries up and forms a perfect model of your mouth, pre braces. the dentist will send in the mold to have you braces prepared and stuff. next, he sees if you need spacers between your molers. after he puts in the spacers (if you need spacers, that is) then you are free to go. next month, try to get an appointment before your concert so you can have your braces on by then. ask your otho if your braces will be in like a week befor the 21...maybe like tuesday the 13th, so your mouth will be adjusted to the braces by then. if they wont be ready a week before the concert and lets say like a couple days before it, then i dont really recomend getting because your mouth is going to be in a bit of pain that might distract you from enjoying the concert fully. dont rush into braces, because you are going to feel like you wanna rush out of them later, enjoy your time without them trust me:D have fun at your concert and good luck with your braces, soon your teeth will be worthy of a colgate commercial! if you have any other questions ask your orthodontist because after all he is the professional and braces are different for everyone. usually dentists say that its ok and braces wont hurt much, the whole "its just a little pressure, take an advil and your ok" doesnt have much truth to it because advil doesnt take away much pain from the teeth moving in your jaw.

How long after your first orthodontist appointment before you get braces?

I know that at one appointment, they take pictures of your teeth ( and maybe x-rays, but I don't know about that!) This is the day where they also make the mold of your teeth for your braces. I'm not sure if this is the next appoinment, but like you said you go in one day and get spacers, so your teeth can adjust for the braces. Both my sisters and I only had our spacers on for one week, and they weren't bad at all. And then exactly one week from when we got our spacers on, we got our braces on that day. I've had mine on for about 8 months now and they aren't bad at all! It only hurts the first week, and then you hardly notice them!

Do you not talk to your orthodontist especially when they do something like take an impression? Why did it not occur to you to ask him or her why the impression was done and if that means your ortho treatment is almost done?So the answer is maybe or maybe not.Quora does not know. Only your orthodontist knows for sure.I know for sure that if the orthodontist or dental assistant walked up and said we are going to take an impression now I would respond with oh, how come?Don’t sit there like a wet noodle, be an active participant in your orthodontic treatment.Did the orthodontist not give you an estimated time of treatment? Are you close to it? Why don’t you ask hey am I close to being done?

How long after the last appointment will you get your braces off?

My last orthodontist appointment is on April 23rd. I've had my final wire for 3 months and there is no other corretions to be made according to my ortho. He said this appointment will be evaluation, the appointment before removal. How many weeks after this appointment would I probably get them off? I was hoping to get them off before prom which will be three weeks later haha. :) thanks

A full face x-ray and a nice consultation with the orthodontist, which will probably be the longest time that you will spend with him.Have these questions ready and let him answer you so that you know what will be your treatment.1. How much will total treatment from start to finish cost2. A rough estimate of time in braces and time in retainer3. Will you get straight teeth and also get EXCELLENT FUNCTION!What you will need to do 1. Brush after every meal+ your normal brushing2. Floss at least once daily3. Get your teeth professionally cleaned every 3 months4. Really limit soft drinks, gatoraid, sugar in any form and really sticky foods5. Come in for adjustments for every appointment6. Wear your retainer as long as you are supposed to7. If a band or bracket comes loose, call your orthodontist and have it repaired as quickly as you can8. Listen to good advice and follow it.I hope this helps you!

No dentist will see you for a consultation without a parent or guardian present. Not in the US, for sure.Your mom is correct in being concerned about your dental health (hence preventing braces if your oral hygiene is not up to the mark). You need to get more responsible about brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing or using a Water Pik at least once a day. Once you get into that habit for a few months, sit down with your parents and explain that you appreciate the importance of good oral hygiene and have been following it. They will take you for an orthodontic consult following that. Most good orthodontists will be very wary of starting orthodontic treatment on children with poor oral hygiene. You don't want straight teeth with bad gums and cavities at the end of your braces treatment, do you?

How long after your first orthodontist appointment does it take until you get your braces?

Mine took a month after the initial impressions and checkup and the first appointment for braces but I'd had hundreds of other ones before that to sort out a special brace for my special (specially awful) teeth. I'd say with straightforward cases then it's most likely to be a few weeks.
Having my top brace took 45 minutes and eat your favorite thing before you get the brace because you won't be able to eat anything much afterwards for a while. It can take anything from 48 hours to 7 days for the initial brace pain to go away - I'd recommend stocking up on teething gel, ibuprofen and really really soft foods like soup and ice cream. Make sure they give you some wax to put on the sore bits of gum and brush your teeth with a hand toothbrush.
Get PLAIN braces haha, they're the best and the most normal. Rainbow will emphasize metal all over your teeth.
Good luck, I started my braces a couple of months ago and they're definitely worth it, I can see a change in my teeth already :) x

What Happens At My Last Braces Appointment?

When I had my braces off, I wasn't told that I had to make an appointment to have them taken off they just sent me a letter to make a new appointment to have them checked. When I turned up they said that they were ready to come off and immediately started to remove them, they take the wires out first, then rubber bands and then metal bits on your teeth. They then take this tool that sort of vibrates the glue off your teeth and then you're done :) takes around 10 minutes. They then take a mold of your teeth and send off for a retainer to be made, mine took a week to be made but my friends took a day so that varies, so you'll have to ask your dentist on that one :)

Can orthodontics put a brace on your teeth if...?

Can orthodontics put a brace on your teeth if 2 of you teeth hasn't grown properly yet.

Because i'm 13 and just had my last orthodontic appointment before my brace. The orthodontics people said the next time I come they will mold my brace and then put it on my teeth. 2 of my baby teeth have just recently come out before my orthodontist appointment, and already about 1 half of my tooth is out of my gum (if you know what i mean) and I just wanted to know if the orthodontist would still put a brace on my teeth if 2 of my teeth weren't properly full grown yet?

Thanks
