Leg Injury Discoloration After 2 Months

I have swelling, discoloration and hardness on top of my foot, ankle, tingling, numbness in toes, ankle pain?

severe ankle pain that will wake me up; had MRI, xrays, now having bone scan. No one seems to know what it is. Have had three antibiotic injections and oral antibiotics; didn't help. I have not had an injury. Foot and ankle feel like they are so ght and stiff, I cannot bend my foot downward or side to side. This has been going on for 2 1/2 months.

Skin discoloration after ankle sprain?

I sprained my ankle 2 days ago. I went to doctor and didn't need crutches or anything. Just had to do "R.I.C.E", which I did. It's a grade 1 sprain so I can walk on it. My ankle was really swollen but after 2 days, it probably reduced to half the swollen size but now a 3'' x 1'' dark purple spot.
Big Question: I'm wondering if it's normal to have skin discoloration after an ankle sprain or just after swelling and how long would it take to go away.

Swollen, painful foot after injury. Broken?

what you are describing are the metatarsel bones. As you know, there isn't a lot of padding on the top of your foot, so you could have broken these bones. Swelling occurs from soft tissue damage and possible injured blood vessels. Contrary to popular opinion, you can still walk on a broken foot, albeit painful. You are doing the right thing by elevating and applying ice, you might also wrap it with an ace wrap for support, not so tight as to cut off circulation. The only way to tell if you have a broken these bones is with x-rays. If your insurance requires you to call your primary physician, then do so and make an appointment to be seen. Good luck.

Why is there a bump on my shin almost 2 months after I bruised it?

there's not a whole lot of padding on the shin area. if you're on your feet a lot, that won't help speed healing time, either. probably nothing wrong with it, try icing it for a while, just not more than twenty minutes a day. leaving ice on it for longer than that won't make it more effective in bringing down swelling or relieving pain, but can actually cause damage to the dermis if left on too long. i'd be more worried if the lump and bruising were still there in another 2 months.

How long does it generally take for a bruise to form after being hit in the face?

Bruises vary according to the injury. The color of a bruise is used as a very crude indication of the timeframe of injury in those suspected of being victims of abuse, but bruising is not always present after injury and is not even a good indicator of the extent of injury except in the most general fashion. A severe injury may not be readily apparent to the eye, while extensive bruising can distract from other injuries of greater concern. In children determining the cause of bruising may require the opinion of an expert to differentiate between accident, abuse, or medical conditions which can cause discoloration or bruising (hemophilia, leukemia, birthmarks etc.)The vivid purple color most people associate with bruising generally takes over a day to be readily visible, though sometimes it can appear in a few hours. It is important for investigators and first responders to be aware that injuries may only become "visible" days later, if ever. An astute investigator will look for redness or swelling, which if very soon after an injury (such as a relatively mild single blow to the face) may be best spotted as slight asymmetry to the shape of the face.A crude timeframe for the color of bruising over time follows, but again the specifics vary for each injury:Redness/swelling - immediate to 2 daysBlue/purple - 2 to 5 daysGreen - 5 to 7 daysYellow - 7 to 10 daysBrown fading over time - 10 to 14 days

Burnt my leg...?

so i was riding on a motorcycle with my friend and when we got to our destination, i got of fthe bike, but in the process I ended up touching my calf to the exhaust pipe. The pipe was obviously super hot and as soon as i realized i was touching it, i pulled my leg away. it hurt really bad and burned for awhile, then we were swimming and going in a hottub and i would chekc on my burn to see if it was okay...when i was in the hottub it looked as if it were gone, no scar or redness. then after i got out of the tub and stayed dry for awhile i noticed it turned a brownish color about the size of 3 quaters put side by side and it was blistering. I popped the blister, not sure if i should have. but now i am wondering what i should do to take care of it and will it leave a scar?? It looks pretty bad..

Why does my broken toe still itch 3 months later?

Broke the toe next to my big toe (whatever that's called) 3 months ago. To date, it itches like crazy and is still discolored. It's not a bruise discoloring, just a darker shade than all my other toes. Are these 2 scenarios common this long afterwards?
