Lexus Sc300 Engine Swap

Can i swap a 1jz or 2jz engine in my 240sx and still make it legal ?

Unfortunately I believe you cannot register a car with an engine from a different manufacturer due to legal reasons in your state. There are states where it is allowed, however I believe it is not in CO. You can, however, register it with the KA in it currently and swap out the motor for inspections, or you can just falsify yours. This is an illegal option, however the most common. However if you want to do it legally and all, I'd recommend a different engine from Nissan, such as the VG30, VQ35, VH45, or anything else of your desire newer than your car.

Engine swap for a lexus is300 what would be the best engine?

Well the 2jzgte is the ideal swap for a IS 300, but it won't be cheap. Just supercharge or turbo the stock 300 motor and you will be good to go.

Sc300 which is better, swap for a new engine or turbo existing engine?

First off, I dont know what you think you will get for $1000, but whatever it is, it will be a waste of money. Shoot, a good tune after a turbo install alone will run you that by a reputable shop.

The cheapest turbo kit for the 2jzge is probably the XS power tubo kit, which is decent for a kid, but why bother with crap when you can have a good turbo like a T67 or a GT35 with quality parts? Bottom line, if you keep the factory motor, invest wisely in parts that will actually last, you will DEFINITELY need a new stronger transmission, that alone will be several thousand dollars, regardless of whether you swap to a GTE motor or not.

FIY, a 2JZGTE done right, will cost in access of $10K USD, and easily over 7-8k half assed. People think that all you need for the swap is the motor/trans/ecu set from ebay that costs $2k.....WRONG. You have no idea how many left over parts you will need on top of that. For starters, you will totallly need to redo the entire wiring harness if you still want everything to function, the list goes on and on.

Tell you what, sounds like you're ona a budget, the best thing for you to do is buy a 1JZGTE motor. That motor is also TT and came factory on SC300's in Japan. You can buy that for $1000-$1500 all day on ebay for an entire set. Best thing is that it will be like factory, no heavy mods required. The harness will work, the IC piping will all line up, piece of cake. Most guys doing this spend $2500 max, if they decide to replace some parts like water pump, seals and gaskets, etc. That for you is the way to go since you havea high mileage motor.

With the 1jz, add a front mount intercooler, bigger downpipe, full exhaust, and a boost controller and you can be making 350-375rwp which is twice the power thhat you curently have. Go to CLUBLEXUS man, they got tons of information there, step by step whiteups, and LOTS of members to help you out.

Which Toyota and Lexus cars have the 2jz Engine?

usually people would swap it in and doesnt come out stock no more

Which is better 300zx, 3000gt or lexus sc300?

I've only had personal experience with toyotas, but the experience I've had has been only positive. I've got a supra with the 2jz motor that's in the sc300 (the supra's is factory turbo though). That motor is STRONG! the factory internals have been known to reliably hold 600+hp easily. an engine swap into an sc300 is pretty much a bolt in and it is a really common swap to put a factory turbo version of the 2jz (gte) in place of the 2jz-ge. The 3000gt and 300zx are both available in the us as either turbo or n/a from the the factory. with the 3000gt turbo having awd (3000gt vr-4) and all three are pretty easily modified to 500hp without much work.

How much is a used 1992 lexus worth ?

It depends on the model and the mileage.

1992 LS400- $4,500-$4,700.
1992 ES300- $3,200-$3,300.
1992 SC300- $5,100-$5,400.
1992 SC400- $5,600-$6,000.
Prices are rounded to the nearest hundred.

Because of the fact they're trying to sell it to you for much less than it's worth, I'd assume there's something wrong with. My advice is don't buy it and keep looking.

PS. Ignore the troll impersonating me.

Sc300/sc400 with a 2jz swap? hard?

i have seen these lexus' with the 2jz (supra tt) engine swapped into them selling for upwards of 20k...
is this a hard swap to do?
like a 1-10 difficulty?
anyone have any ideas about it or has done it before?
thanks everyone.

Can you put a 2JZ-GTE engine into a 1997-2001 toyota camry cause i read that u can so i was wondering??

That won't be easy. The 2JZ-GTE is an inline six configured for rear wheel drive (longitudinal installation). Camrys are front drive with transverse mounted 4 cyl and V6. You can put this engine into the early Lexus GS300 or SC300 since they were equipped with the 2JZ-GE engine (non turbo).
