Liberals Do You Think That All Cons Are Racist

Were Democratic Liberals just as racist as Republican Conservatives in the 1940's in America?

I think to answer this, you only have to look at the actions of FDR, one of the most prominent Democratic Liberals at that time.1. The FDR administration rounded up and deported Hispanic American citizens in large numbers.2. FDR enforced regulations that made it illegal to hire African Americans, which created an employment gap between African Americans and White Americans which did not exist before FDR and still exists until this day.3. FDR forcibly confiscated businesses and property of Japanese and Italian Americans. His administration rounded up as many as 150,000 of these people and put them in internment camps. The policies of FDR were the most racist of any president in the last 150 years. The Democratic Liberals supported him all of the way.Republican Conservatives of the time still supported the Republican Party legacy of civil rights advances. Republican Conservative President Calvin Coolidge was a proponent of Howard University and other Black Colleges. Republican Conservative Senator Robert A. Taft proposed “fair employment” and civil rights legislation in attempts to undo some of FDR’s damage. His biggest achievement was the Labor Management Relations Act of 1947 - Wikipedia , also known as the Taft-Hartley Act.So, in the 1940s, the Liberal Democrats were supporting Jim Crow and racism of all types. The Conservative Republicans were trying to preserve the legacy of Lincoln and expand civil rights.

My fellow good liberals, since the racist cons keep clinging to that ancient document the constitution and the racist Bill of Rights, why?

Hillary didn't win, no worries about bullets getting banned

How do you react to the phrase, "The modern conservative is the modern racist"?

The US conservative movement was an alliance between those whose primary desire was to end New Deal programs such as Social Security and supporters of ‘states rights’. States rights in the US has always meant support of segregation or even slavery. The South always wanted states rights in their terms. So, when Northerners didn’t want to arrest escaped slaves the South pushed for a fugitive slave law. In the mid 1950’s William Buckley (the editor of the National Review) was successful in getting the most blatant racists to be shunned and that means people like Revilo Oliver (whose real enemy was Jews more than African Americans), but he only stopped supporting segregation himself long after the passage of civil rights legislation in the mid 1960s.There is no reason why conservatism must be racist in the way it has been in the US, but historically it has been. You see an emotional reaction to immigration that is far stronger than it would be if it was only about numbers. That reaction is based on bigotry and racism. You see appeals to the ideas the busloads of blacks are being bused to the polls, that appeal would have no value if not for racism. So, I don’t think the neo-cons were racist and I don’t see racism in the policies the Koch brothers push. The tax cut, for example, is just about money, but in order to motivate the base, they must appeal to bigotry.

Does the Australian Liberal Party have a racist agenda?

Yes. All governments do.Have a look at the visa conditions. If you’re under 28 and want a 12 month working visa, Q1 is “Are you from UK or Ireland?” Most other nationalities can’t, because they are assessed as greater risk of overstaying / illegally working. In fact, a Kiwi can stay permanently!Furthermore, the LNP wants to recognise indigenous people constitutionally as having a special role and connection as the First Nations. They also receive specific classes of welfare (eg Abstudy) and dedicated positions designated as roles for ATSI persons. That’s racist - I can’t apply for those jobs due to my race. When I go to Saigon for work, I have to apply for a visa. My g/f (travelling on a Thai passport) does not. I’m being specifically treated differently due to my nationality. That’s racist. So other countries are also racist. But I don’t think that’s what your friends mean. I think they feel that strict border protection laws are inherently racist, or racially motivated. They’re not. If I overstay my visa by 91 days in Singapore, they don’t ask me what race I am. They simply arrest me, jail me, and after a 2 minute hearing in front of the magistrate, cane me. Then they will deport me when my jail term is up. The sentence is identical for a white Australian as it is for a Nigerian, Burmese or Malay. Countries protect their borders, and Australia treats all races equally in that respect.Perhaps you could expand on the “anecdotal evidence” your friends have come up with?

Why will Liberals and Conservatives never agree?

Because Libs are more intelligent (proven, in general IQ tests); more motivated by critical thinking; future/ global vision; love and positivity, as well as inclusiveness, while Cons are motivated by fear and (self) loathing, of everyone who isn’t them. Provincial to the bone and celebrating that anti intellectual bent.Proven, in recent, brain chemistry tests of libs and cons. Chemical and scientific. Cons’ brain chemistries are fear and fragile male ego based. While Libs’ brain chemistries are not. No way to “negotiate” a truce there. Sorry.Conservatives are always, on the wrong side of herstory. Their name says it all. Duh. By virtue of their “looking back”, to delusional, non existent “golden times”. Since time only moves forward, requiring a reality-based, progressive, personal pov, to solve future challenges. Sadly, Cons’ limited belief systems don’t allow for that option. Instead, defaulting to neo nazi fascism and close minded hypocrisy. No way to fix provincial, ignorant, nor fear based brains. From the outside. Unless a Con personally chooses to do so; with some truly illuminating auto didacticism (reading) or advanced education; lots of travel; relinquishing one’s personal opiate of religious/ evangelistic fanaticism and embracing an honest will to change and open up, by personal choice. (First step to solving (addiction) probs, in 12 step, is admitting there is one.)So far, scientists and psychologists have found that cons’ brain chemistries, cannot be changed back to libs’ chemistry; while libs’ can change to cons’, with the daily, toxic, hatefilled, Faux News/ Breitbart/ Sinclair- like input/ propaganda/ programming. Negativity is easier. Lazy minds. Interesting.

What's it like living in a liberal state? How are the social attitudes in a liberal state?

I lived in Vermont for 22 years before moving to the Florida Panhandle (Pensacola).I guess I never really appreciated the generally liberal attitude Vermont has until I moved here.My first week at my job, a guy came up behind me while I was with a black co-worker and said “hey, can you help me? i don’t want to talk to any black people.” It ended up being that he was joking and knew my coworker, but that wasn’t the kind of joke I ever grew up hearing. It wasn’t funny to me, at all.Racism is deeply ingrained here. It’s an unmentioned and unquestioned part of life, that many minorities either don’t bother to confront in public or just simply don’t notice. When Dylann Roof shot nine people in Charleston and sparked a debate about what the Confederate flag represents, Pensacola residents went to the Pensacola Graffiti Bridge to paint the flag and attempt to educate their fellow citizens on what they believed it meant. I learned that night that, as one person put it to me, “that flag means n*****s sit at the back of the bus.” I still want to believe I was being trolled, but sadly I cannot. That was never something I had ever imagined happening, much less hearing, growing up in Vermont.I remember growing up in a state that legalized gay marriage early, I remember race not being much of an issue to anybody, at least as a white person. I never heard anybody spitting racist garbage about a minority group growing up in a liberal state. In the panhandle it seems like it’s hard to go a week with such a thing.I was asked once if I believed in guns, because I’d need them when the refugees came here to wage jihad. That was just last winter. But as I learn more about racial disparities and racial boundaries, I learn my own liberal state dislikes the Sudanese refugees we house and employ. I have seen comments on local cititzen swear in ceremonies in VT that complain about the lack of legitimate immigrants, something these very people were finishing up the process of.I think in liberal states, Vermont at least, racism is less overt. I cannot recall a single homophobic experience in Vermont. Racism ails the entire country, everywhere you go, however. Seeing it in it’s unchallenged state has only enabled me to more accurately identify the hidden kind I thought didn’t exist in a liberal place.
