Libs Tell Me That If You Dont Like Whats On Tv Change The Channel. So Why Do They Flag So Many

Why does it seem like so many people hate Fox News when it's the most watched cable news network in America?

Because it is the only major outlet that generally permits conservative viewpoints to be aired, and because it is successful. There are a lot of valid complaints about Fox News. Certainly their editorial hosts are almost entirely conservative. Some shows pit multiple conservatives against one liberal in a discussion. Some shows are sensationalistic, which is off-putting for a news channel - even for opinion shows. However, these things don't drive hate. That is based on Fox News' success at breaking the left-wing monopoly on television news. Many people subscribe to the idealistic notion that news on other networks is generally unbiased and evenly presented. This is nonsense. There are no shortage of studies that show that the overwhelming majority of journalists in the US (80%+) consider themselves to be liberal. No process completely controlled by like-minded individuals is going to end up as unbiased - groupthink is a powerful force. (Fox is affected by this as well of course) This disruption in the industry is why you see the common themes of "Fox isn't really news." While I would never argue that Fox is completely unbiased either, their news (not opinion) coverage isn't any different as far as degree of bias than other networks - it's just in the other direction. (And journalism studies that attempt to objectively measure bias have roughly shown this to be the case)However, the perception persists of the idea that other networks are not biased and present the "real news." If you believe that, it it not unreasonable that you would then view Fox as radically outside the norm. Combine that with the fact that it is successful, and you have the recipe for something that can conjure up the kind of vitriol one sees directed at Fox.

Why do Canadians talk so much about Americans?

When you write “Often showing a pseudo-nationalistic pride about the fact they’re Canadians as if the world cared.” two things strike me:you don’t think that any “nationalistic pride” other than “Americanism” is real, andyou think that the rest of the world actually cares if someone is an American (or from any country outside of their own for that matter).Let me tell you a couple of things about Canada that you probably don’t know:Canada is a nation that was founded by a bunch of drunks who didn’t actually have any real idea what they were doing except that the didn’t want to be conquered by the United States of America (which had already tried it twice and failed). The “Canadian Dream” is a railroad, the “Canadian Icon” is a cop, and the “Canadian symbol” is a rodent so dumb that it has been known to chew its own testicles off and/or stand directly where the tree it has just gnawed down is going to fall.Canada went through WWII with a “War Leader” who got his political advice from a Ouija board, his dog, and his dead mother and who wasn’t actually all that far out side of the norm for Canadian leaders.A Canadian is best defined as “A person who thinks ‘What is a Canadian?’ is a question that somebody should really come up with an answer to one of these days - IF they think about it at all.”.Canada has two official languages and expects all of its politicians to be able to order “un double double et un beignet au beurre de Boston au chocolat” in both of them.Canada declared war on Japan (in WWII) before the United States of America did.The CN Tower is the world’s tallest igloo.British Columbia is not a small South American country. The easiest way to spot a used car lot (in Canada) is NOT to look for a massive display of Canadian flags. The current national flag of Canada is actually older than the current national flag of the United States of America.More Canadians fought in the Union Army during the American Civil War than Americans fought in the Canadian Army during WWI and WWII combined.

Why do liberals seem to live in an alt-world where they do nothing wrong and conservatives do nothing right? Do they ever read history?

Never ask why until you ask if. Your Question Is Naughty! For the same reason that some conservatives live in a world where they assume that they’re the good-guys and the liberals are the bad guys. Like this very question, right here, is Exhibit A, your honor, of this behavior. You did it RIGHT NOW. You burdened the question with an assumption and then you asked total strangers to accept that assumption and then explain why that assumption is true. And you’re concerned about the illogical behavior of liberals? “Hi Kettle. This is the Pot. You’re black.”Seriously, did it not dawn on you just a little how insufferably illogical and immature this question is? “Yeah. Yeah. See! Them liberals are the bad guys. Look, they make all kinds of dumb assumptions. But not me! I’m the smart one. I would never do that.”‘Cept … you just sorta’ did. Here’s my advice. Turn your TV off right now. It’s utterly useless, clearly, and you’re not well-informed. If you were well-informed, you wouldn’t have asked this question. As Joshua Engel pointed out in one of Quora’s finest answers[1] , nearly every second of time you waste gobbling up “live and in the moment” news (from any source, but online and TV are the worst) is useless, it doesn’t make you informed and worse, its entire purpose is to entertain you. They are effectively fictions. What are those:An untouchable contrivance that you can never hope to enter or change.Exists explicitly for your entertainment. What you should do is go outside. Meet your neighbors. Get to know the people in your community. Take all that time and channel your allegedly conservative “good ol’ fashioned” American values and show us how great a person you are by making your local community better. Volunteer that time with your church at a soup kitchen or help the homeless. Whatever it is, it’s surely a far better way to improve your self-esteem, knowledge and the community you love than by sitting in front of your TV or computer thinking you’re informed. You’re not.See:The hive is offended by your generalization!Stereotypes are dangerous but yes, sometimes they’re useful.Footnotes[1] Joshua Engel's answer to What are some odd-sounding but completely rational ways we might live our lives, if we paid attention to the true probability of good or bad things happening to us?
