Link Preview - How Can I Control What

Where is mail print preview?

When you press Ctrl and P on your keyboard to print an email or when you select it from the More menu, a window will pop-up with the print preview and the option to print the email. If you are not seeing this, then your Web browser is probably blocking the pop-up. For more on enabling pop-ups in your Web browser, I recommend referring to your browser's documentation.

Why are some Tweets showing up with link previews now?

It’s not necessarily a recent development, at least not from the Twitter engineers themselves, but maybe you’re noticing a shift because of the accounts you follow.Link previews – or for the purposes of this answer, we will call them Twitter Cards – appear whenever the associated website has the correct markup within its code that delivers the necessary information to Twitter so that a preview of the page can appear within Twitter’s feeds. This markup, provided here by Twitter for developers, must be coded into a website by the owners so that any tweet that includes a link from the site will have a preview attached to it, no matter the account it came from. So, basically, if you follow accounts that tend to tweet links all from the same website, and that website recently updated their code to include Twitter Cards, you may have noticed this supposed “change.”

Is there a Wordpress plugin that displays the link preview information (thumbnail, title, short description) for comments like Facebook does?

I don’t think that there is any plugin for that yet.You will probably need to hire a freelancer to create one for you, as it require 2 components:A mechanism to generate the link preview box. The following repository is a workable option: LeonardoCardoso/Link-Preview. It does mimic how Facebook link preview feature worksA way to allow this box to show on your comment section. This part will be a bit problematic as WordPress restricts the comment tags allowed on the comment section. Removing the restriction might cause security issuesGood luck!/*Was this helpful?Stop by my blog! Is it possible to provide a preview image in iMessage when the link is to content within an iOS app?

Yes, this is possible. For reference, these previews are the visual blocks that show up when a link is shared in iMessage on iOS 10 and later. They look like this:It is easy to show these previews for app content, but in order to do it, you need to understand a bit about how iMessage generates them.Open Graph ProtocolThe Open Graph Protocol was originally developed as a way to provide rich content previews for links shared on Facebook. It’s just a type of structured data, which you add to the section of your web pages. The tags themselves look like this:

The Rock (1996)

The Open Graph Protocol worked so well that it is now used almost everywhere a link preview is needed, including in iMessage. Apple only uses the og:title and og:image (at least, for now) tags, as follows:Previews for App ContentOf course, app content is inside an app, so it isn’t possible to put Open Graph tags there. Instead, you have to put the tags on a web page that corresponds to the app content.Universal Links is the official deep linking standard on iOS. It works by tying your website URLs to content inside your app. This means…You can host your Open Graph tags on your websiteApple will use them to generate the iMessage previewWhen the user taps the link…Your app will open if it is installedIf the app is not installed, the user will end up on your websiteBut what if you don’t have a website? Or you have one, but it’s just a few pages and doesn’t have all the same content your app does? That’s where hosted deep link services like Branch.io (full disclosure: I work for Branch) and Firebase Dynamic Links come in (you may be interested in this other answer comparing the two: What are the pros and cons of Branch.io vs Firebase Dynamic Links?). These deep link platforms power your deep links and host tiny web pages with all the Open Graph tags for each link.Branch has a blog post explaining exactly how to set this up for iMessage: How to Configure Your App’s Sharing for iOS 10’s iMessage Update | Branch Blog.
