Low cost tablet to learn on.?
Found a new tablet to learn on. I have windows vista but it comes with windows linux want to sync. Computer to tablet & phone with android 2.3. calendar & contacts to do list & apps. Thoughts on tablets. Thank You
How would you review the Monster Tablet with a 6, 8, or 10-inch screen that weighs 2 or 3 kilos?
I wonder if the svelte little phones and tablets, and supermodel thin macbook air machines, are near a generational change, replaced by hefty devices with handles and knobs that you can grab like big Nikon full frame cameras. Cameras may go the opposite direction, getting smaller, but computers don't need to be pointed or aimed very much.I find that touch screens are awkward to use, slowing y0u down compared to a click wheel on a camera. Camera pros want the positive control that comes for knobs and dials. Why not computer users? Many functions that we activate on screen are similar to camera controls. There is zoom, function (app) selection, open, close, and in photshop many “develop” functions similar to on camera controls. Excel and Word functions, as well, can be mapped to knobs that have LED indicators on them. I can see such a tablet device mounted with a tripod screw to a heavy tripod at a video production. No matter if it rains or snows or the unit gets knocked over. At most music venues, photo/video shoots, or welding shops there are thousands of pounds of equipment, making the tiny weight of a modern tablet irrelevant. Many home computers, laptop or tablet, seldom leave the house.It also make a difference in how we think about such weighty computers. They would not be seen as whispy etheric machines connected to a transient virtual world, even if they are, but as working tools doing a job. Maybe the virtual world would change too, as Google, Facebook, or iCloud takes on a solid, industrial look.
Which one is better: Oracle Linux or Ubuntu 14.04 LTS?
It depends on what you mean by “better”. If by “better”, you mean in terms of technical quality, it's a wash. Oracle Linux was designed to be a platform for Oracle's database software; there is a desktop and a server version of O.L.Ubuntu works on many platforms, including smartphones, tablet computers, notebooks, Netbook(s), PCs (desktop and tower configurations), servers, and the Internet of Things, inter alia.But while one (Oracle) is far more specialized than is Ubuntu, both are well-regarded distros of Linux.On the other hand, if by “better”, you mean in terms of being easy-to-use, Ubuntu (except for Unity, which I hate with an abiding passion) has it hands down. If you Google Wikipedia, operating system usage, a link should come up that gives you an article describing which operating systems are most and not so most used. Ubuntu Linux is the most frequently used desktop version of Linux. The reason for that is simple: it's been adapted for so many platforms it's very easily accessible. Mac vs. PC...in laymen terms please.?
Full time mommy. A macbook is a brand name, Like Nike, Gucci, except it fills a Niche relevant to computers. The advertisement is different for them, they really on bandwagon tactics and rumors to drive their sales. They mainly target teanager girls with products focusing mainly on "Looks" I.E. The high price signify economic standing, "Hey look he must be rich, he has a mac" The also use a very advanced advertisement methods, focusing on area's previously unexplored, like posting fake customer reviews or even posting answers right here on Y!A (paid workers) social media, etc. In reality Mac hardware is not bad, in comparable competitor laptops, the hardware would be considered "Average" but definitely NOT bad, in a nutshell an average laptop costs about 700$, while an "Average" macbook costs about 2500$
