Look At These Pictures. Am I Fat I

Why do i always look fat in pictures?

I am a professional photographer among other things in the music industry and it depends on who is taking the picture and also how you pose can make you look up to 50lbs heavier than you really are. If a person shorter than you takes a picture he is pointing the camera upward and will make the skinniest person look chubby and add a double chin. I am sure you have a digital cam, try for yourself or a cell camera and practice taking pics. I used to model back in the day and if you watch Tyra she always says practice your signature pose which is usually a 3/4 turn but if you want to email me a good pic and a bad then I can tell what is wrong or if you need a must have pic I will fix it for you FREE of charge. I know the feeling ;)

Am i fat? pictures included?

Some girls just gotta know these things. Please be honest i can take it.

oh and another thing- do you guys look at girls' legs? because i'm self conscious of mine, i stare at other peoples lol. is it just me? my friend says he doesnt..

Why do I look so good in the bathroom mirror, yet pictures of me are some old, fat guy?

An enormous amount of self-perception depends upon our brain filters. Donald Trump probably looks in the mirror and sees a vibrant, young, positive image! For people suffering from depression and insecurity they’ll look and see a sickly, old, negative image.I went through a long period of my life thinking I looked (literally) like Frankenstein’s Monster. I would stay home from parties because I “knew” that if I went there my friends would be depressed all evening by looking at me and feeling sorry for me. It was so bad that I balled up my high-school yearbook photo and threw it in the trash. Here it is… rescued, I believe, by a girlfriend at the time… prepare to see Frankenstein’s Monster Come To Life:You can see the damage from my failed disposal attempt. It wasn’t until fairly recent years that I was able to actually SEE that picture for what it is.I was basically like a 73 pound anorexic who looks in the mirror and sees someone FAT looking back at them.Sheeesh, I was actually fairly GOOD looking!MJM, who just wishes he’d known that a few decades earlier!

Am i fat? or just not toned or something? (pictures)?

Okay, i look quite thin when i stand up but when i sit down i get so many fat rolls! its disgusting! do i need to loose weight or just tone?

Am I fat? pictures included (read details please?)?

I’ve always had confidence but lately a lot of people from school and stuff told me I’m fat. I never ever thought I was skinny -at all- but I never thought I was FAT, just...healthy. Ever since, I’ve become very self-conscious. Please don’t say "WHO CARES WHAT PEOPLE THINK" because in reality everyone knows it does. It sucks, but that is just society.

My mom says I look fine, but that what moms are supposed to say. I just want to know the truth that’s why I am here asking you, if am I fat? I want you to be completely honest! Even if you think it would hurt me. And no I wouldn’t starve myself, I love food! xD

I know that I have big arms, big legs/ butt, love handles and a belly, so I know I have a lot going on. Any exercises you would recommend for these problem areas?

Keep in mind I am a 15 year old girl, I am 5'4 and my weight fluctuates between 175- 185 lbs. Also, I checked out my bmi and it came to be like 30 or so which means I’m obese! :/

Any guys out there that think my body is attractive or at least decent?

I just want to know what you think! And again please be honest! (:

p.s. if you think I should be working on any other areas than listed above, tell me! And if you could recommend any workouts that would help!

Thank you guys so much!

Okay, here are the pictures: (they were all taken within the same month so I was the same weight)

(The tight underwear I was wearing in the blue dress was not helping my love handles!) xD

I think I look really attractive in the mirror, but when I take a picture I look so bad and different. Do I look like how I look in the mirror? I understand that my face is reversed, but will that really make a huge impact on how I look in reality?

Relax! You will be relieved to know that when other people look at you in real life, they are more likely to see what you see when you look in a mirror (without the reversal) rather than what you look like on phone pictures. Why? Three reasons, which are all to do with the laws of optics and perspective:Number of aperturesA phone camera has a single aperture, which means it can only view your face from a single point. But (most) people can see with both eyes, so they are seeing you with two apertures spaced a bit of a part, and their brain then combines these images to produce a more complete image of you, with more of your facial features being visible than through a single aperture.Depth perceptionAlso, of course, they will see a three-dimensional image of you, rather than the two-dimensional image obtained through a single aperture; they will perceive the depth and shape of different features of your face (as you do when you look at yourself in a mirror)—information that is not available in a flat two-dimensional image.Viewing distanceFinally, if you are taking a selfie, or someone else is taking a picture of you from quite close-up (say, no more than 4 feet away), the closeness of this single aperture to your face will tend to produce an image which looks rather distorted when compared with a picture taken from a greater distance. This distortion will make your face look more rounded (albeit a two-dimensional projection of this roundness), with your nose—being closer to the lens—appearing quite large and your ears—being further away from the lens—appearing smaller. Viewed from a greater distance, your face will appear less distorted, with the relative proportions of your various features in more realistic relationships to each other. To summarise, then, if you want to have a more realistic idea of how you look to other people, stop taking so many selfies, because they will never show you at your best!

Why do some people look totally different in pictures than in real life?

It isn’t just in your head. When you take a selfie at arm’s-length, with a smartphone, for example, since cameras have either one lens, or several in close proximity, you end up with a slight fisheye effect. When cameras take photos, they separate the foreground, middle ground, and background very differently than two human eyes do. This exaggerates the depth difference between parts of your face, making them look disproportionate.Your nose can appear significantly larger and rounder, relative to the rest of your face, because it is perceived as the foreground, while your ears can look much smaller, as they are perceived as the background. The rest of your face tends to look slightly rounded off, more narrow, and less structured, with minor asymmetries exaggerated. The closer you are to the lens, the more distorted your face will appear, but no matter how far you are from the lens, there will always be distortion. This also is true for the rest of your body.Depending on someone’s actual features, lens distortion can work for, or against them. This is why some people look significantly more attractive, or significantly less attractive in photos. This is the real reason people say the camera adds pounds. The less structured someone looks, the more body fat are perceived to have. What is really interesting is that there is a very simple way around this distortion. Take a photo in the mirror and flip it. The distortion will be gone. This is how others see you in real life.To illustrate this, here are two photos of me taken two minutes apart in about the same spot, with the same lighting, at a similar angle, and both with the same neutral expression. One is a regular selfie, and one is a mirror selfie I flipped post factum.Regular Selfie (extremely distorted):Flipped Mirror Selfie (not distorted):
