Looking For A Strang Pet

Is it acceptable to pet the dog of a stranger without asking for permission?

I’ve mentioned her before, but for those who don’t know, here’s my furbaby, Twix. :-)She is a 5½ year old Labrador cross Springer Spaniel but, by all accounts, she is an eternal puppy. She chose to come home with me when she was 17 weeks old but prior to that she was still kenneled with her mum and dad.She is quite a friendly dog, to those she knows, however she is very nervous around people she has never met/hasn’t seen for a while. Family who haven’t visited for a while have to be re-introduced.So when I am out walking with her, I often get asked if people can stroke her; I say yes, but warn them she may jump up at them or shy away from them depending on her mood du jour. Because of how she can be, she has even been known to bark at people who try to fuss her. This is why I have to warn people, because while she is not by nature an aggressive dog her actions may be perceived as such. This is why…Not long after she came home with us, I was out walking with her. As we approached our home, my next door neighbour came out with her dad. Twix backed off from him immediately. That told me a lot. Always trust a dog’s instincts. The dad didn’t even ask. He just walked up to Twix, totally ignoring the fact I had asked him to back off. Twix was behind me now but as I turned to pick her up to get her away from him, he actually had the audacity to grab her lead and try to pull her towards him.He then had the cheek to look at me and say;“All dogs like me. She just need to get to know me…”I managed to pick Twix up with him still holding her lead, and responded in my usual manner to people who piss me off;“No mate. You need to back the fuck away from my dog and let go of her lead before she snaps.”By now, his daughter is trying to get him to let go. Poor Twix is shaking in my arms, and he has pulled her lead so much Twix’s collar came off! Man, was I pissed, and I let him have it with both barrels.I told him, in not such a polite manner, that if he ever came near me or my dog again, I would knock him out. Twix was so scared of him because of what he had done, she peed on me when I picked her up.Now whenever I see this guy he walks away without a word.Really though, Twix is just a big puppy who loves mummy cuddles.TL:DR - Always ask before approaching/petting a dog, you never know what that dog’s like/been through.

My dog is acting strange?

So for a couple of days now my dog has been acting very scared. He starts sticking to me my mom or my sister like glue. He's always staring out into space and shivering as if he is terrified. He usually sleeps in his own bed but every night insists on sleeping right next to me. He's eating fine, plays sometimes, poo is ok. He had this skin condition that seems to be going away. I don't really know what is happening. Can someone help? He's 6 if tht helps. Miniachure pinscher.

Are Morkies good pets?

It's been a couple of months since my dog has died and I think it's time that our family moves on and gets another puppy. My friend's sister's dog just had 6 puppies, but their might be a problem since they are Husky mixes (see my other questions for details). I was looking for ads online for breeders near where I live, and I found one who is only about a 2-hour drive away. They were selling three little (I'm pretty sure toy) Morkie puppies for just $300 and I thought it was a good deal for a great pet. I've emailed the breeder for more information about the litter. They are going to be ready to go to homes on December 4th. :]

Also, do you think my step-dad would not want to have such a girly dog? :P Our old dog was a long-haired, short-legged Jack Russell... but he has said he wants a Labrador. Not a poodle. Not even a labradoodle. But I think since the rest of his family are girls, we could probably convince him :P
