Low Carb School Lunch Ideas

School lunch ideas for a ketogenic diet?

Can anyone help me with ideas for my lunches? The food at school is terrible. I'm trying to stick to a high protein/low carb diet. Although people are going to talk a lot of s*** but I need to eat lol so screw that.

I was thinking grilled or pan-fried chicken breast, deli turkey breast, steamed pork, tofu, hardboiled/scrambled eggs with cottage cheese, boiled, steamed, pan-fried veggies like broccoli, spinach, carrots, lettuce, roasted pumpkin, kidney beans..

I was wondering if having a sandwich with multigrain bread (9.4g protein, 22.8g carbs, 5.8g fibre) would throw me off because it's not recommended to eat bread on this diet?

And I LOVE FRUIT! I don't really want to give it up on this diet. Please help!

Lunch ideas for a high school student.?

This year, our school will be going to a 1 hour lunch shift and in it will be all the students of our school-the luch lines are going to madness. So my friends and i decided that we would just plan out some healthy, easy lunch ideas and eat them so we would avoid the lunch lines which don't have heathly food anyways.

So do you have any easy, cheap, and healthy lunch ideas?

Ideas for lunch & snacks at school?

Try buying a thermos and ice packs. A good list of things to bring for lunch are here:

All natural fruit juice in thermos.

Peanut butter crackers, homade, as commercial brands are full of preservatives that are unhealthy.

Organic Dried Fruit, with no sugar added.

Peanut Butter Sandwiches on whole wheat or whole grain breads.

Apples or Oranges, basicly any fruit that will not spoil or easily bruise on the way to school or the caf.

A small treat such as a low sugar or sugar free cookie for desert.

Other tasty foods for the lunchbox are home made salads with olive oil dressing, small candies one or two times a week, and sugar/fat free pudding and jello cups. You should never buy Lunchables or simalar, as they include candy high in fat, and are full of preservatives. Just see the nutrition labels if you aren't sure. Vegetables such as carrots, cauliflower, or lettuce are always good in plastic Glad bags.

PS. Please keep in mind that being in high school this food will need to be able to sit for about 4 to 5 hours at room temperature.

What are some quick, easy to make, low carb lunch recipes that you can pack for lunch at work?

Here are a couple ideas from PlateJoy’s Low Carb plan that we love:Mediterranean platePack up some dips and dippables: crudités (like carrots, cucumber and grape tomatoes), hummus, babaganouj, crackers (if allowed on your macro plan) and a handful of olives. You can find a multi-compartment food storage container or use several smaller ones to bring everything to work.Lettuce cupsDIY lettuce cups are a great alternative to a traditional sandwich. Combine shredded chicken, lentils or pinto beans with a few pinches of your favorite spices and sauce (we love peanut sauce), then pack up these fillings container. Pack another container with shredded veggies like carrots, kale and cabbage. Wrap your lettuce leaves in paper towel and place in a reuseable storage bag to assemble at work.Cheese boardSlice up a selection of a few cheeses, add dried fruit and nuts, crackers or sliced baguette, salami or prosciutto, and perhaps a little jam or honey to round things out. If you’re feeling extra fancy, bring along a bottle of flavored sparkling water.Chopped superfood saladHearty salads (not sad iceberg lettuce and a tomato) are a great way to get your greens and feel satisfied at the same time. Prep your favorite ingredients the night before, combine in a tupperware, and bring a dressing on the side to add just before serving. Some of our favorite combinations include:kale + sweet potato + baked tempeh + avocado + dried cranberry + hazelnuts + hemp seeds + balsamic vinaigrettespinach + roasted chicken + olives + red onion + cucumber + cherry tomatoes + roasted potatoes + lemon juice + olive oilromaine lettuce + tuna + parsnips + green beans + olives + hard boiled egg + red wine vinaigretteYou can find more lunch inspiration on PlateJoy’s Low Carb meal plan.
