Here's a tip to try too - a rootbeer float made with grape ice cream. No seriously!! It is VERY good and a nice twist on the usual. If you can't find grape ice cream, make it with vanilla and grape flavoring! Yummy!

What are your favorite low cal/low fat snacks or sweets?

When I need a sweet treat and don’t want to eat junk—and especially when I need something quick and easy—I grab a couple of dried figs. The big, fat kind from Fred Meyer’s bulk section. They’re sweet as candy and very satisfying and two of them are under 50 calories.

What's a high calorie, low carb snack?

Here's some great ones:Nuts - pecans, pistachios, walnuts, sunflower seeds etc. these are all low carb and are packed with essential nutrients and healthy fats. They are high in calories but also high in satiety.Cheese - a great low carb snack! Make sure to check the label though, some cheeses have carbs.Bacon and sausage - a great food to indulge in on a low carb diet because you probably wouldn't normally eat it. Watch out for nitrates in most bacon though. Any vegetable, depending how low carb you are going you can pretty much eat any non starchy vegetable. Plus you'll be getting very much needed fiber here which is tough to get on a low carb diet. And my personal favorite!Dark chocolate - this is one of the few "sweet" treats you can have on a low carb diet. It may take. While to get used to if your accustomed to milk chocolate but it really grows on you. It's packed with nutrients and fiber and studies are always showing its many benefits. Again, check the label and shoot for the darkest chocolate you can (85%+ cocoa). The higher the cocoa the lower the sugar. There's even 100% dark chocolate with zero carbs but it's hard to find in my area.
