Lower back/left leg pain?

Keep an eye on this and if the pain or tingling continues it may be the beginning of DVT.

This is very painful and pain pills do not help. I have had it for over 2 years and the doctor was slow to diagnose it until I was in critical shape.

Mine started with a sudden onset of calf pain and leg swelling. The pain was worse when the leg was hanging down. There was warmth to the area because the veins were inflamed.

I am on coumidin (warfarin) as a blood thinner. Usually when they say 6 months, they mean for the rest of your life. The blood thinner does not resolve the current clot problem, but supposedly keeps new clots from forming.

Deep vein thrombosis, or DVT, is caused by a blood clot in a muscle and can be life-threatening. Symptoms include swelling, pain, and tenderness in the legs. Risk factors include immobility, hormone therapy, and pregnancy.

DVTs can occur anywhere in the body but are most frequently found in the deep veins of the legs, thighs, and pelvis. They may infrequently arise from the upper extremities usually because of trauma, or from an indwelling catheter (tubing) or device.

A deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a condition wherein a blood clot (thrombus) forms in a vein of the deep system.

Thrombophlebitis is a condition in which there is both inflammation and a blood clot in a vein. Thrombophlebitis can occur in either superficial or deep veins. Superficial thrombophlebitis occurs in veins close to the skin surface, and usually causes pain, swelling, and redness in the area of the vein. Superficial thrombophlebitis usually is treated with heat, elevation of the affected leg or arm, and anti–inflammatory medications. A thrombosis in a deep vein is a much more serious problem than one in a superficial vein. The reason for this is that a piece of the clot in deep vein from a DVT can break off and travel through the deep veins back to the heart, and eventually be pumped by the heart into the arteries of the lung. When this happens, the condition is called pulmonary embolism (PE). The blood clot is called an embolus (plural emboli), and the process of breaking off and traveling to the lungs is called embolism.

Narcotics didn’t help my pain. I now take Tizanidine 4mg 5/day and Lyrica Cv 100 mg 3/day. This helps the nerve pain and I can walk some now. I am feeling much better pain wise.

My lower back hurts on the right side. and it shoots pain down my right leg?

OK sciatica is a general turn for pain radiating(shooting) down the leg. However the cause and the treatment depend on severity.

If the pain is radiating into your buttock area only, it is usually caused by a misaligned pelvis.

If the pain is radiating to just above the knee, it is usually a misalignment in the lumbar region (lower back). It can also be caused by a misaligned pelvis.

If it radiates to the foot, it is usually more serious and is caused by a herniated disc.

If it radiates into the buttocks or to above the knee, see a chiropractor. They specialize in this and can help correct this issue.

If it is radiating into the foot, you should see your primary care doctor in order to get an MRI in order to see if it is a bulging/herniated disc.

If it is truly a herniated disc, find a chiropractor who specializes in either Cox flexion/distraction technique or one who has a DRX-9000 traction machine. Both of these methods have been very effective in reducing herniated discs without surgery.

However, if the symptoms continue to increase, get into a doctor right away.

I really wish you the best

How can gas be related to lower back pain?

If you feel constipated, bloated or gassy most of the time then there is a high chance that you might feel lower back pain as well. Gas in digestive tract comes either from air swallowing or from breaking down of certain undigested food by harmless bacteria which produces H2, CO2 and CH4within the body. This gas releasing does not only affect the digestive tract but also the other associated muscles of the leg, middle back and lower back region of the sufferer. The back provides stabilizing system and support to your body but at the same time, it is pregnable to injuries and strain. Before considering lower back pain solutions, you must have to spot the point of origination of the pain. Back pain and gas can be interrelated at times because abdominal swelling in result of gas puts a severe pressure on the back region and if this happens in a tandem, this may give rise to lower back pain. Hence, if you are prone to gas, constipation or lower back pain, then it is the right time to provide relaxation to your body by improving lifestyle and dietary habit which would be a good lower back pain solution.

Back pain when weight is on left leg?

There's probably a pinched nerve or a strain. It really sounds like either nerve pain or a strain to me. I'd suggest getting checked out. I know, it's a pain in the ***, but it's worth it. Mean time, take some advil. Take 3 with some food and a FULL glass of water. If it's inflammation it will help. But if it's a pinched nerve or something, you may just have to wait it out. Best to get checked out just to be on the safe side, though.

Pain all the way down my right leg & butt at 37 weeks pregnant?

I'm 37 weeks & 3days pregnant with my 2nd baby. For the last few days I have been getting this pain down the right side from my butt/hip all the way down the side & back of my leg. To the point where if I'm not holding on to something, I may fall down because it gets to where my leg goes numb. I woke up today and it is 10 times worse! The only thing that helps is to sit in one spot. Even to just adjust and change positions hurts. Any little pressure I put on that side hurts. And to stand up is such a mission. I have to hold onto everything and stand up as slow as possible. Which at times is difficult because I have a 3 year old daughter who is running my home right now with me not being able to chase her. What is this pain? Anybody else feel it this far along in pregnancy? I have a doctor appt on Thursday, so I will definately be asking about this...

I have been suffering from severe right lower back burning sensation which spreads to my right leg. After waking up, i feel the pain. Not able to lay down in the bed and only hard surfaces seems to be supportive.

Though my HCP has suggested it to be Nerve compression/Scatia, he advised me for an MRI. But, the MRI had many things to look at as below IMPRESSIONS from the Report. Is this any thing serious which Surgery is required?

How do I reduce the lower back and legs pain after taking Cialis?

First , let me ask you a question. Were you prescribed by a physician with this medicine or did you just purchase it over the counter? If this was prescribed by a physician were you evaluated for the presence of cardiovascular diseases? especially for the presence of coronary arterial disease? (CAD). This drug should not be taken without proper guidance due to the high incidence of cardiovascular complications if this drug is not properly used.Tadalafil is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor drug which causes smooth muscle relaxation and increased blood flow to the penis and is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hypertrophy. It’s most common and dangerous side effects include anginal chest pains, faintness, chills , confusion and fast and irregular heartbeat. Myalgia or muscle pain maybe present but it is not common side effect as you can see. If the lower back and leg pains really started after you started taking in the Cialis. I suggest that you decrease to the minimum dosage first and if the pain still persists even after the dosage has been reduced then discontinue it temporarily and visit your physician to for a proper medical examination and evaluation. Please see this link regarding the common and uncommon side effects of Tadalafil (Cialis): Cialis Side Effects in Detail - Drugs.com
