Macbook Air Storage Value Is Wrong

Which options for storage, RAM, and processor on MacBook offer the best value for a graphic design and communications student?

None of them. They all suck for what you want to do with it, unless you buy a MacBook Pro. Normal MacBooks only offer you Dual Cores (with hyperthreading) which will suck a lot once you work on a 700MB print project or try to render a video clip.Get a PC with a 4 core / 8 threads CPU (like an Intel 7700HQ), SSD (or smaller SSD+large HDD) and a dedicated graphics card (like a GTX 1050). and you’ll be much happier when you actually try to get some work done instead of just posing in the lab.You can get all of this in PCs for just under $1000. If you have money to burn, see if you can afford a Razer, if you can get over their terrible logo and need that thin aluminum unibody and big touchpad for personal validation.

How long can a Macbook Air last?

A macbook laptop lasts many days. its depends on how carefully you use it. Its a powerful laptop. I am using my Macbook Air for the last 3 years and it is still running fine.If you follow these simple pieces of advice that are good for any macbook laptop, it can last until you get bored of it: - Avoid dusty surfaces. Avoid any liquid going into the MacBook. - Avoid stopping the vents on the sides (the slits where the air goes in), depending on the model, they can be on the sides or on the back under the display. Macoboks are true laptops, meaning you can put them on your lap because there're no vents underside. BUT DON'T USE YOUR LAPTOP ON A BED OR ANYTHING THAT STOPS THE VENTS, OVERHEATING WILL STRESS COMPONENTS but won't seriously damage the mac, it'll shut down itself if it overheats.More details macbook won't turn on

What about buying a MacBook with 409 battery cycle?

Thanks for the A2A.I would need a lot more information to give you anything resembling a good answer. Which Mac are you buying? How old is it? How much are you paying? How much RAM and storage space does it have? Does it have a hard drive or SDD?In general, there is nothing wrong with buying a Mac with 409 battery cycles left, but it depends on how much you are paying and exactly what Mac it is. If the price is good enough, you can probably replace the battery in a year or so for about $100, depending on the model, giving you a fresh 1000 cycles. (I say a year or so because you have at least that long before the battery should start to degrade — even then, you should have 80% capacity for quite a while.)

Is the 2017 MacBook Air worth buying?

Absolutely Yes! MacBook Air 2017 is the best Laptop for a student life.Right now I am having around 9 tabs open in Safari, Tutorials running in VLC, Blue Stacks with open application, running android studio, running IntelliJ IDEA, uTorrent with active downloads, Mail app , App Store, 3–4 pdfs along with songs and there is no lag at all even with simultaneous use !!!As a student the most important things are :Battery Life : MacBook Air has battery life of around 12 hours so you need to charge only once in a day and no need to carry chargers everywhere.Portability : Steve Jobs introduced the MacBook Air as the thinnest laptop in the world. While this is not completely true today, this device remains one of the lightest and most mobile laptops in the market :). And it weighs only 1.35 kg which is light enough to carry everywhere. Unless and until I remember if I had put my Mac into my bag, if someone asks me whether I am having my laptop in my bag I would say ,”NOT SURE”. See so light weight it is!Performance : An SSD-based internal storage improves the speed and lifespan of a device. Compared to a typical hard disk drive, an SSD is 25 to 100 times faster. This means faster boot times and quick file transfers.Decent Hardware : The latest Intel Core i5 processor powers the MacBook Air. It has 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB flash storage.Screen and Audio : Macbook Air’s 13.3 inch screen is pretty good and absolutely fine for watching Tutorials,Movies,TV Series and any visuals. Screen is not Ultra HD but satisfying. Talking about the Audio, Apple Speakers are always Louder and Better compared to any other brand and MacBook Air’s speakers especially are excellent . You don't need to carry Extra Portable Bluetooth Speakers.I would simply say GO FOR IT WITHOUT A DOUBT !!!

Are old MacBooks still good?

Yes. By any measure I am a Mac power user: I am constantly writing and compiling software, regularly editing large (gigapixel scale) photos, and often running 3D CAD software. When I’m doing more than one of these at a time, I push the system to its limits:I make most of my income using my laptop, and could easily pay for a new one every year if the upgrade would improve my productivity. Despite this, I am still running the very first generation Retina MacBook Pro ever made (mid-2012), ordered the same minute it was available on Apple’s online store. Here it is the day it arrived from Hong Kong, next to the behemoth it replaced:You see, the specs of this 6 year old laptop are nearly identical to those of a brand-new $4,000 2017 MacBook Pro. Working on mine feels almost indistinguishable from working on my coworkers’, and the build quality is truly outstanding: I have replaced the battery twice over the years (once by Apple just before the 3-year mark, and again a month ago), but it is otherwise exactly as it was on day 1.The current generation of MacBook Pro’s make some design compromises for the sake of portability that weren’t made in these older models (no physical escape key, lower key travel, fewer ports). While none of these are deal-breakers for me, they are small disincentives for me to upgrade. These coupled with the fact that there are no compelling incentives to upgrade (unless you really, really want to work on a “space gray” machine) make it a waste of money and effort to upgrade. To me it’s not exactly that Apple has botched their newer laptops (although I know many who would argue that they have), but that their older ones were so far ahead of their time. There are all sorts of reasons why they haven’t kept up with this pace of innovation – from Intel’s insane delays to the loss of the visionary Steve Jobs – but the reality is that they haven’t. Their newest laptops are the best laptops made today; they’re just no better than the laptops they made 6 years ago.So yes, old MacBooks are very much still good, state-of-the-art even.
