Why do some people don't smell maple trees at all?
Whenever I'm close to maple trees, I can smell the intense odor of them, particularly on rainy days. For me it's a very intense smell and I really hate it. For me maple trees stink. I have noticed that some people can't smell a thing when they are together with me. When I tell them that the odor is quite intense they tell me that I'm nuts because they don't smell anything. When I was in high school, we made an experiment with a liquid which was put on small pieces of blotter and distributed to the students. For some of us, there was quite an intense taste of bitter and others didn't notice anything at all. Is it similar with the maple smell?

Hi, I've heard her name is Fernanda Andrade. There's a Fernanda Andrade listed on IMDB at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1223326/ but they don't have any credit listed for ALTOY. I think the Fernada on IMDB looks older than the girl in the video, even though they say in "behind the scenes video" http://davidarchuletanetwork.ning.com/vi... that her name is Fernada. I don't think it's the same Fernada. Then I've been told there's ANOTHER Fernada, named Fernada M. Andrade. To open up the voting I nominate one of the most motivating scenes from one of my favorite movies where nerds save the day using a virus that has no business working on alien technology.In honor of summer and nerdiness everywhere, and to celebrate the production of the long in coming sequels my vote goes to the "Today we celebrate our Independence Day" speech from the 1996 alien movie classic Independence Day.To set the scene: The world is in freaking shambles. Evil aliens bent on our complete destruction have massacred nearly ever city on the planet. The President Bill Pullman's has just lost his wife to the buggers and the nerdy one, Jeff Goldblum has figured out a way to hack the aliens AVG firewall and take down their shields. Outside there are the last remnants of humanity's hope, some kids with pilots licences, the last few pilots who weren't killed off already and some really drunk old dudes. Their scared and need a boost.Out comes the warrior president to rally the troops and instill them with courage they will need to take on what is most certainly the last day of their miserable existance. Take a peek...This scene always gets me for a few reasons. One, I am patriotic as hell. I know it isn't cool to be, but the whole premise of the moment gets me. It's so good I ignore everything from beating the aliens with a virus, to piloting an alien spaceship, to the laughable moment when the humans think that they would actually have a chance. Two, the speech brings to scope the epicness of the the moment not just for the doomed men before him, but for all of the rest of humanity. Third and most importantly, directly after giving this awe inspiring, tear in the eye of real American (yeah you) moment... The President of the United States battle suites up and pilots his own plane! He personally leads the most important battle in world history! In a jet! Against Aliens!Oh my nerdiness is acting up again. I have to lie down.Oh and to help us get a grip on what our chances would really be, here is a demotivational video of Neil Degrasse Tyson reminding us we are less than chimps.
