Have you ever regretted meeting someone famous?

I’d discovered Letters To Cleo for myself as a college DJ in 1992. I played/sang to their cassette demo until it broke.As an RA I got funding to get them to do a show. The first thing the Lead Singer, Kay Hanley asked me when they arrived was if I had any weed. I was absolutely a total square and had no idea. I asked around, though and think I introduced her to a friend.She was a heavy smoker. She wasn’t impressed with the small and informal crowd. On her second smoke break I asked if I could sing with the band. She didn’t give a shit. I sang a song, it was fun!She wasn’t a dick, necessarily. I guess what would be expected for someone who was working to be a star and was at a a dinky small college for $2k. Thing is, at that time, I was in serious dedication to being fit. I was biking several miles a day and eating raw fruits and veggies only. I was about 110 pounds, 5′5″. Slightly bigger than her, but normal sized.A few years later I’d been working in bakeries, living a different kind of life, and put on 40 pounds. I’d been heavy more often than not, so I didn’t think of it too much. My friends invited me to see Letters to Cleo in Northampton, MA. I painted her something from one of her songs and brought it with me. My friends were playing the same show and I was backstage.I approached her all friendly, smiling. I was met with a cold glare. She looked me from head to toe and up again, real slow, mean-girl like. The classic body-shaming bullshit you can get for free in any middle school.“What do you want?”“I sang with you guys���a few years ago…I made you this?”“Ugh…” She turned & walked away.I threw the painting in the garbage.

What is it like to meet someone famous?

The experience is different for everyone.For my self it has never been a big deal.I have shook hands with two different presidents at campaign funcunctions, met most of the cast of “Major League” when filming in Milwaukee, talked with several senators on multiple occasions, and have been around many other local celebrities and politicians over the years.I have never been awestruck by any of them. They look just like anyone else.But hey, when you meet one just do your own thing.*Knowing what I know now, I would have dipped my hand in 99% pure rubbing alcohol after meeting Charlie Sheen.

Have you ever missed meeting someone famous by seconds?

Yes ! Twice !!! Not by seconds but by minutes. Guess who ??? Superstar Rajinikanth (yes) and Nivin Pauly (Famous Malayalam actor- Premam fame)+ Vijay Yesudas ( Famous south Indian singer and son of the Legend, Yesudas).Last Sunday we went to attend my husband's best friend's marriage. We were planning to reach the venue by 7 pm. However, we were not able to start as planned plus traffic in Chennai, we reached our destination only by 7:45pm. We came to know from his friends that Rajinikanth had come 15 minutes ago and he was there for a couple of minutes. He blessed the couple, posed for a photo and left. We didn't believe at first and then they showed us a photo and we were like OMG ! We cursed us for not being punctual..missed an opportunity to see a Legend :(The other incident happened last year. We reached airport late and what more…missed the early morning flight to Cochin. This time not because we weren't punctual, fasttrack cab we booked priorly came really late and we reached just minutes before they closed boarding. While waiting for the next indigo flight, I was going through my Instagram feeds and saw my friend who is a cabin crew in Indigo have posted a photo of her with Nivin Pauly and Vijay Yesudas with a caption, “celebrities in 6:15 Chennai Cochin flight✈”. I hope you can imagine how I felt then…missed meeting Nivin and lost 9k as ticket cost for next flight :(Thanks for reading ! :)

How did you randomly meet someone famous?

I randomly met Dominic Littlewood - Wikipedia in Cheltenham, UK when I walked down some steps and nearly bumped into him when he was doing a piece to camera. He is not famous outside the UK I suppose.The next person is more notorious, rather than famous, I was working a night-shift at an RAF base where we were basically an emergency diversion base. We got a call that a Sea King Helicopter needed a ‘rotors running’ refuel as it was on route from the Netherlands to Scotland. Imagine my surprise when one of the passengers on the aircraft turned out to be Abdelbaset al-Megrahi - Wikipedia AKA the Lockerbie bomber.

If you have Autism is it possible to meet someone famous and not annoy them?

About 25 percent of individuals with ASD are nonverbal but can learn to communicate using other means.   So, in short, It varies from person-to-person, type of ASD and the extent to which that person is affected.

How do famous people react, if they meet someone who doesn't know them? Are they offended or do they feel more comfortable?

There is no one correct answer as it will ultimately depend on that famous person’s personality. In my opinion though, it will certainly be a common reaction for them to be surprised and somehow feel upset even a tiny bit. Despite this they will likely try to hide that reaction from you. After all people like them has public image they have to maintain and protect. If it’s Donald Trump, you might just get banned in America. XD.
