More Than 21 Days In Philippines.

Philippines -Cebu-I am going for holiday and it is 22 days. 21 days is aloud without a visa. What shall I do??

You need to get a Visa before you depart for the Philippines. Why? Because there is a good chance if you do not have a Visa, the airlines can deny you from boarding. read my other response to like question on this forum. I suggest you contact the Philippines Embassy or Consulate that services your area to obtain a Visa. You can find Ebasyy or Consulate by way of Google search engine. If the Philippines or Consulate can not process your Visa fast enough www.travisa.com has an awesome very fast service.

If you listen to others and they tell you not to worry about a Visa. If the airlines does not allow you to board, you have only yourself to blame.

I just answered a similar question. See my response below:

Holiday in Cebu. . . what will happen if my stay is one day over 21 days?? Will I get a fine or what??

My response:
Nothing but a fine. Now if your round trip tickets indicate your stay is over 21 days there is a good chance the airlines can deny you from boarding aircraft without proper Visitors Visa. Sure there is a good chance the airlines will let you slide, but some times you get a new traineee or an over jealous airlines employee working Check-In counter. they check our return ticket and determine your stay is over 21 days that can leggally deny you from boarding. Believe me when I say there is a chance this can happen to you.

I have flown round trip more than twenty times to the Philippines from the USA in the past 28 years since 1980. More than 80 percent of the time Check in airline representitives and checked to see if I have a Visa..

You can call the airlines and they will confirm what i post is in fact reality

What all do I need to travel to the philippines?

Reminds me of me when I first came last year for the first time. I wanted to make sure I had all bases covered. Well, it's a no brainer really, the airport and customs was a breeze, Westerners can walk through most places no problem. Anything you need you can buy at any of the hundreds of malls they have every where, except the remote areas. The visa extentions, which I have been living on for the past year, is an easy process, every 2 months I head to B of I and get another 2 month extension. ATM is the way I go since my money is in a bank in the USA. The ATM fee is just like in the USA $1.50 per transaction and the exchange rate since my account is USD and the ATM spit out Phils peso's is good, I know cause I always check it.
The people are wonderful, the weather is great, you'll love it here.

How many days are you allowed to stay in the Philippines without a tourist visa?

I suppose that it depends on your nationality, but for ‘non-visa nationals, like the UK or the USA, the time has recently increased from 21 days to 30 days. Any longer than that, you need a visa, or to apply for an extension in Intramuros Manila, in person (and nowhere else!). All of this presupposes that you were not born in the Philippines, when you can enter on your non-visa passport for up to one year as a balikbayan with evidence of your birth in the Philippines (your foreign passport is usually sufficient), and if your non-Filipino spouse travels with you he/she can also stay for a year - this is important because even if you qualify and your spouse is not there there is a lot of hassle to get an extension at Intramuros, not least just getting there if you are outside of Manila. I’m not sure how this applies to children under 18 years old, older children have to qualify in their own right. I used this balikbayan condition myself until I was awarded ‘immigrant’ status Aliens Registration (a nightmare process!!).

Can i come to the philippines with a us military id?

You should join this Yahoo support group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MAG-ANAK/ that focuses primarily on Fil/Am Immigration, culture and transition issues. Much can be learned from the collective thoughts and experiences of others. There are also numerous active duty and many retired military on this group as well. This group will help you with your Fiancee or Spousal visa paper work.

I am retired US military who has made over twenty flights round trip flights to and from the Philippines. from experience you will require a passport and Visa, if your stay in the Philippines is longer than 21 days. You can travel to the Philippines and use Military ID card only if you are on official orders. Keep in mind yo may require special permmission to visit the Philippines from your Commander. i suggest you check woth your unit personnel office or Orderly Room to determine what the current Command Policy is for taking leave in the Philipines.

How long can I stay in the Philippines without a visa with a US passport?

When you come into the Philippines you get a 30 day visa if you wish to stay in the country longer you must go to an immigration office to extend your visa where you will get a further one month extension, if you wish to remain even longer you go back to immigration and get another extension this time for 2 months also you will also need to apply for your ACR card which is the Alien certificate of registration which takes normally up to one month to process , you can keep extending your tourist visa up to 3 years without leaving the country after 3 years you must leave the country for at least 24 hrs then you can come back and the whole process starts again but before you can leave the country if you have been in the country for more than 6 months you must obtain from the immigration office you have been getting your extensions from an ECC which is an exit clearance certificate, this is to make sure you have not broken any laws while you have been in the country this is valid for one month , now if you intend to come back into the Philippines apart from booking a return flight ticket you must also book an onward flight ticket or throw away ticket as your not going to use it as your going to extend your visa within the 30 days if your entry visa . It’s the law here and won’t be able to get on a plane back to the Philippines without it , by the way you do not have to go back to your own country you can visit any of the countries close to the Philippines like Malaysia or Singapore Thailand, Aldo at the Airport you will need to pay p 1600 Airport tax also a P700 terminal fee it’s a pain , also show your ECC to Immigration or you wont be able to leave the country. I know this is long but I’ve covered everything ok I hope this helps

How long can a Naturalized US Citizen stay in the Philippines?

Well, if you were allowed to keep your Filipino passport when you were naturalised in the US, then you can travel back to the Philippines (on your Filipino passport) for as long as you like.

If you don't: a US citizen is allowed to enter the Philippines without a visa (for tourism) provided they have a passport that is valid for 6 months after they enter the Philippines, and a return ticket. This will only allow you entry for 21 days however, and if you want to stay longer you have to apply for an extension at the Philippine Bureau of Immigration and Deportation which is in Manila (and has a number of offices located elsewhere).

Good luck!

How long can I stay in the Philippines with a tourist visa extension?

Three years, according to their own Philippines Immigration Bureau web site. However, (a) you need to extend your visa many times, first at 30 days, then 29 days (and get an ID Card), and then every 1, 2 or 6 months. I’m told (no personal experience) that after about 8 months they start getting curious as to why you are staying so long on a tourist visa, but they will extend it up to the full three years. And (b), each of those extensions is about PHP3,000, plus about PHP 5,000 for the ID Card (at the 2nd extension, and the ID Card is mandatory), and you have to re-register the card every year (January to March). (c) lastly, after you have been there 6 months straight, you are then required to seek permission (at about PHP1,000 or PHP2,000 - forget which) to leave - i.e. an Exit Permit. So, my suggestion is: stay about 5 months (into your third extension) and then hop on a cheap flight to a neighbouring country for a day or two ‘holiday’ from your holiday. Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, Bali, Jakarta or Hanoi / HCM are all good, cheap, choices (US$2–300 rtn airfare if booked well in advance) that are only a couple hours flying time away. That resets everything and you start over with 30 days as the first time (but you don’t have to get a new ID Card).Unlike most of the world, the Philippines actually wants people to stay (so you spend your money, of course, they are not altruistic, just smart). And given the extension fees, and the large numbers of tourists always there extending when I am, the extensions are funding the entire Immigration department budget I’m sure.Good luck, and enjoy your stay.
