I’m a 17 year old female and people tell me I am good looking, but I see none of it. Now I seek validation from others to feel pretty. What do I do and how do I stop it?

Please ignore it.You get compliments all the time for being good looking, probably because you are. And it isn’t just because you happen to be young, a woman, and “not fat.” You probably are actually a good looking person.People wouldn’t keep saying it to you if it wasn’t true.There really is no need to seek validation from others that you are pretty, when they’ve given you mountains of evidence that already confirms this fact.Please don’t misunderstand others. They aren’t just saying it. If it happens frequently, then there is probably a reason.I know how self conscious this can make one feel. I hate getting uncalled-for compliments myself, and to me they feel shallow, and ignorant of who I am as a person. I suspect you may feel similarly confused, or irritated by them at times.It’s best to take the compliment, but then realize that is all it is. A compliment. It doesn’t validate you, or invalidate you as a person.It is just one’s persons perception.Being 17, it can sometimes feel like your appearance is the most important thing, since you just came from (or are still in) a incubator that judges you constantly for your appearance (High School), and it can feel like your appearance is going to be the deciding factor of your success. It truly isn’t, and shouldn’t be used as the measuring stick of your worth in life. Passions such as your relationships, your career, your hobbies, life experiences. Those things are the real measuring stick of your life, and the more involved you are in those, the less you care about what people think of your appearance.I hope you realize this, and also see the beauty within yourself.

First you need to stop thinking that your not attractive you are the way you are and you should embrace and except that. Believe it or not so many people don't have what you have and many people wish to have what you have. No matter how bad things may look, you should ALWAYS be in the attitude that your amazing, your good looking, you are blessed with so many good things other people don't have. When i was in my teenage years i was just like you no guy even for once looked at me and that made me have a very low self esteem and no confidence cause i used to think the problem is in me. But than i realized that the problem is not in me it's in the other person that there not able to see what an awesome girl there losing. As i got older my thinking started to change and instead of chasing the guys i let the guys come to me. Im 20 now and whenever im getting ready to go somewhere and i look in the mirror i say to myself "God your soo pretty, any guy would be lucky to have you" and believe it or not i not only feel pretty but alot of times guys try to get with me and even when im in the car whether im looking in the mirror or fixing my hair i always catch guys that are beside me in their cars looking at me(yes i know very flattering : ) But my whole point of saying all this is that stop thinking negative, and start loving who you are and what you have. You need to change yourself before wanting to change anything else in life. People may say all kinds of stuff well let them! They don't know you more than you know your self? and you know who you are your awesome so start acting and thinking that way and than guys will naturally tend to be more attractive towards you.
Adults say I'm good looking, but people my age don't. Are the adults lying?
No, even when considering pure aesthetics and not just “beauty on the inside,” the adults are right and the kids are wrong. Adults have had more time to develop their aesthetic sense and to learn to appreciate beauty. The teens are just comparing each other to their favorite movie stars — which is to say, photoshopped images thereof. They’re total noobs at understanding beauty.Don’t wait for compliments to decide if you’re attractive or not. If you were movie-star stunning you would already know it. Likewise, because you’ve gotten some compliments, trust that you’re not unusually unattractive either. Assume that looks-wise, you’re like the rest of us: Above-average on a good day and below-average on a bad day. Just decide for yourself that your looks are perfectly fine, because 99.99 percent chance they are. You don’t need anyone’s permission or validation.Then go make something of yourself. That’s the most attractive thing of all.
Looking so young is making me so depressed!?
I know this sounds so stupid to some but me looking so much younger than my age is starting to depress me a lot. I’m 25 and most people think I’m 18. People at work view my as a teen with little experience which is super frustrating. I have to constantly reassure everyone that I’m 25 and have a lot of experience.i work as a teacher and I swear parents look at me like I am a kid myself! Is there anything I can do to look older because i am in desperate need of some help :(

no offense 'kay? actually it's my first time to search images on tokio hotel (don't really n know then that's why^^)... then i was like "woah, what a pretty girl".. but when i kept on searching i noticed that "he" has a flat chest.. so i went to wikipedia. i was soooooooo shocked to have read a "HE" in his bio... I just kept on looking at his photos and noticed something... maybe it's his cheeks that makes him look like a girl... --- uhm what do you think? (like what i said...NO OFFENSE...i honestly think he's cute by the way^^)
