In T20's economical wicket less bowler, but it really just depends on how expensive you are talking about. If you are talking 48-4 in 4 overs, then that would be better than 20-0, but if you are talking 70-4 in 4 overs as apposed to 20-0 in 4 overs, then the 20-0 would be better. The bowler with figures of 20-0 will have tied up an end well and normally will have assisted in building pressure and the bowler(s) up the other end have benefited from the tight line of the other bowler. In ODI cricket the bowler with 30-0 off 10 has probably had a better impact on the game than a bowler with 80-4 off 10 overs In Test cricket I am OK with either, but probably the bowler who takes 120-8 off 20 overs will have had a bigger impact than a bowler who has taken 30-0 off 15 overs. Having said that, all you need to do is look at the partnership that Warne and McGrath formed so well for so many year. When McGrath was not taking wickets he was usually very economical and Warne took plenty. When Warne was not taking many wickets he was also bowling economical and McGrath was usually taking wickets as a result. The bowler who is taking the wickets often is benefiting from the other keeping things tight. Ultimately in T20 and ODI cricket, if the game is not a tie it is always won by the team who kept the other team to less runs or the team who scored more runs in the one innings of the match. In test cricket a team can play poorly and score very little in the first innings and then bat excellently in its second innings and win a match, it is not as reliant on economical bowling though out the whole match, but more wicket taking bowling and being the team to play the best in the final innings of the match.
